Hi there! I'm so excited to have had a project shared on the ever so talented Marjie Kemper's blog (thank you Marjie!) and I would be tinkled pink if you would check out her blog HERE. Today I have a layout share featuring fun patterned papers from the Pion design A Day in May collection along with photos of Meredith that were taken about 7 years ago. This is not my "typical" layout using Pion papers ~ I challenged myself to get inky and create a mixed media style layout:

For color, sketch and theme inspiration I joined along with the current CSI 131 challenge:

I created a patch like square using 4 different photos of Meredith in action grooming and riding her horse:

I added interest, I applied a layer of crackle paint to the wooden title and applied modeling past to the background:

I applied various inks to Pion papers and to several flowers to get the colors appropriate for the challenge and I also added polka dot design using a stencil and gesso:

I pulled out some brads from my stash and randomly fastened them to the page ~ sort of remind me of the latest craze for enamel dots. I haven't caved and bought any as of yet, have you?

I took a couple photos along the way to share how I added texture and color to the pretty Pion design papers:

To wrap it up, here's how I interpreted the challenge:

Colors: I used all 5

Evidence: wet medium, doodling, polka dots, brads

Testimony: I journaled about an outdoor activity

Sketch: followed

Hi there! Today I have a collection of cards to share featuring the newly released Pion design Memory Notes beautiful papers. When the box arrived from Sweden, I couldn't wait to dive in and create.

For the first two cards, I used beautiful Spellbinders dies to die cut the sweet baby images and foliage:

I embellished with a blossom from my stash and a die cut doily that was made using one of the beautiful Die-namics Mini Delicate Doilies:

The sentiment is from Beautiful Baby:

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Seize The Sketch sketch challenge:

The next set of cards features a combination of pretty papers from the Pion design Memory Notes and A Day in May collections:

I also combined various Spellbinders and Die-namics dies:

The beautiful image was cut and layered using various Spellbinders dies as well as the foliage:

Hi there! Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm still here just took a much needed short break from creating for a few days to take care of some important exciting personal business :) Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of my sweet Gretchen, Griffin and myself along with beautiful Pion Designs papers from the A Day in May collection:

I die cut the photo using a Die-namics Stitched Circle STAX die then layered it on a Sweet Tooth die cut doily. I embellished with a variety of flowers from my stash and Sweet Tooth die cut Leaf-Filled Flourishes.

I added some random texture and design using the Tiled Hearts stencil and even used a die I've neglected and have never used: the filmstrip die from Die-namics At the Movies:

I finished the layout with a butterfly embellishment and pearl flourish:

 For inspiration, I joined along with the CSI Case File No. 110 challenge:

Colors: ALL 5 were used

Evidence: flowers, pearls, lace

Testimony: I used two of the inspiration words in my journaling: style and fancy

Hi there! I'm so excited to share a layout featuring a photo of sweet Meredith along with beautiful Pion Design papers from the A Day in May Collection. 

For the tag shown below, I hand trimmed around a couple of preprinted tags from A Day in May ~ Tags, distressed the edges, layered on top and stitched into place:

I embellished with various die cut foliage ~ the green pieces were made using pretty Pion Design paper:

For the title, I dusted off and pulled out a stamp from my stash that dated back to 2004! I stamped the sentiment on a die cut label that was made using pretty Pion Design paper:

For color inspiration, I joined along with Scrap Around The World:

 choosing the beautiful flower bouquet for color inspiration:

and for sketch and title inspiration I joined along with Scrap & Music and I chose the word "love" from the lyrics.
