Wishing you well 28

Mona Pendleton | Friday, January 13, 2017 @ 1:38 PM | , ,

Hi there! Today I have a card to share that I created for my dear son who recently had oral surgery. I'm joining along with this week's PTI Make It Monday: 2016 A La Carte challenge where I chose to give the Chalkboard Technique inspired by Betsy's card HERE.
For the focal point, I used a couple of images from the Round & Round stamp set along with a sentiment from the Everyday Classics stamp set:
For sketch inspiration, I'm playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge
and for color inspiration, I'm playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge:
Up next, I have an 8" x 10" oil painting featuring a tulip garden:
I'm linking my painting up to Paint Party Friday and 30 in 30 Day 13:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Be Sweet ;)

Hi there! Hope you are having a great week! I have some exciting crafting news to share on Sunday! It's day 4 in 30:
Today I have another tulip garden to share:

Today I have more tulips to share. I'm trying to limit my brushstrokes so I don't bury the shadows and make the highlights to dominate. Practice, practice, practice....

painting brilliant tulips 15

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, July 28, 2016 @ 6:47 AM | , ,

Hi there! It's been awhile...I hope all is well with you. I'm taking a painting 5 week e-course called Painting Brilliant Colors with one of my favorite artists ~ Nancy Medina. I fell in love with Nancy's use of brilliant colors and impressionist style. Today I have brilliant tulips to share which was from week one's lesson. I have a lot of practicing to do...I think the tulips look more like roses and I really don't like the shade of the lightest green leaves because I think I mixed too much yellow in it. This sample was painted on a 12" x 12" gessoed canvas board. Practice, practice, practice...

Here's my second attempt on an 8" x 8" gessoed board.

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great day!
