Don't be afraid...WMS August Previews Day 3 53

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the August Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today, Claire and many of the DT members are sharing projects featuring Little Lanterns, Bright Season and Light of the World Sentiments.

I made a card featuring combining Little Lanterns and Light of the World Sentiments.
Both of these sentiments are jam packed with many images that may be easily mixed and matched!
To create my card, I stamped the elegant lantern and candle from  Little Lanterns using VersaMark ink, embossed using fine white embossing powder then stamped the candle glow using SU Barely Banana ink. I stamped one of the many sentiments from Light of the World Sentiments next to the lantern.
I created a window using a Die-namics Designer Labels 2 STAX die then I stamped the Shine sentiment on the underlying piece of MFT Heavyweight Cardstock Whip Cream.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Unscripted Sketches challenge:

For you... 77

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 27, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hey there! Today, I have a little something fun to share. Several of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design team members are using Waltzingmouse stamps to embellish bags from Pouch Mart - a web store that sells all shapes, colors and sizes of bags. The folks over at Pouch Mart generously sent us a few bags of our choice to create with and they are also offering a $25 Pouch Mart gift certificate for one lucky commenter. For complete details, refer to the bottom of this post.

For my projects, I filled a few darling 3 x 4 Polka Dot Organza Bags with some of my favorite chocolates then adorned each with an ornament tag made using stamps from the Waltzingmouse 2011 Holiday Ornaments set.

These little treat bags are perfect for giving that special someone a sweet little treat (holds 4 - 5 Dove chocolates). Just a taste to satisfy one's chocolate cravings ;)
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out what bags each of these designers used for their projects today: Lynn Mercurio, Kelly Schirmer, Julia Aston, Anya Schrier, Tosha Leyendekker, Bonnie Sharp and the Pouch Mart blog.

***Here are the details:

Leave a comment on each blog - one lucky commenter will win a $25.00 gift certificate to the Pouch Mart and another lucky commenter will win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set! You have until Sunday, July 29th 11:59 pm EST to leave your comments! Winners will be announced on Julia's blog on Monday, July 30th.

A Featured Publication peek... 37

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, July 24, 2012 @ 9:30 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great week! I'm super duper excited to share one of six cards that I currently have published in the awesome Simply Cards & papercraft Magazine Issue 100!!! I probably sound like a broken record but seriously, having something published for a crafty girl like me, is like winning the papercrafting lottery!!! Ha! If it were the "real" lottery, I could quit my "real" job and create a lot more but until then, I'll just keep pluggin' along, doing my thing :) Oh and I don't even play the lottery so guess I'll be a nurse for a few more years! :) LOL (One of my cards is shown in the upper left corner).
The featured suite of cards are all about the Intaglio technique. If that sparks your interest and/or curiosity, be sure to check out the Simply Cards & papercraft Magazine Issue 100 ;), you're sure to find MANY inspirational projects!
This card in particular, features the gorgeous butterfly amongst other pretty images from the Waltzingmouse Nordic Spring set.
Thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet ;)post signature

ALL Hearts Come Home... 42

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 13, 2012 @ 10:30 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a terrific weekend! It seems like it has been forever since I played along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge so I decided to set aside some time and join in the fun :)
I inked up the beautiful heart from Seasons of Love - Tags with Versamark ink then embossed using fine white embossing powder to reveal that gorgeous design. If you have visited my blog before today then you know it's not a secret that I LOVE paper crafting dies and this set is just one of MANY of Claire's that coordinate with Spellbinders dies.
To finish off my card, I added a sweet rolled glitter kissed rose:

July WMS Blog Waltz 78

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, July 1, 2012 @ 11:00 AM | , , ,

***I have two posts today, if you are looking for my CR84FN post, please click HERE***

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release waltz! Many thanks for the sweet comments over the past 3 days :) Today, all four of the following sets: Heroines - Fairy Princess, My Island, North Shore and Playful Pinwheels are now available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse Stamps on line store. You should have arrived from Belinda's blog, if not you can head on over to Claire's blog where the celebration began and for complete details.

Today, we are all focusing on the fun Playful Pinwheels stamp set, which includes LOTS of fun pinwheels and sentiments to play with!

To create the pinwheel, I did a wee bit of paper piecing which was super duper easy! I first stamped the larger pinwheel outline image twice then filled in the larger polka dot and solid pieces with the coordinating stamps. I cut the smaller inside pinwheel then popped it on with a glue dot. It's perched inside a teeny jar from a retired Spellbinders die set that I just can't part with! After die cutting the jar, I colored the lid with Copics and pieced on top of the jar that was stamped using the reverse polka dot stamp from Gingham & Co.
Thanks so much for visiting! To continue with the waltz, please be sure to visit Bonnie's blog. Be Sweet :)

My ISLAND dream...WMS July Previews Day 3 54

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 30, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | , , , , , , ,

Hello! Welcome to day 3 of the July Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today we are focusing on the My Island stamp set that will be for sale on Sunday, July 1st in the Waltzingmouse Stamps on-line store.

If you had a chance to see my post yesterday, you already know that we are beach lovin' family :) Today, I have a layout to share that features a photo of sweet Meredith that was taken several years ago while we were on vacation on Maui. The My Island set is full of so many fun images, I couldn't help myself and stamped away!

To create the two tags, I stamped many images from My Island on tags that were cut using the Die-namics Tag, You're It die.
For the title, I stamped then heat embossed a label from Very Vintage Labels No.25 cut using a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five die then stamped the beautiful sentiment from My Island.
The little tag shown below was also made using a combination of stamps from both Very Vintage Labels No.25 and My Island as well.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the Creative Scrappers challenge:

North Shore...WMS July Previews Day 2 67

Mona Pendleton | Friday, June 29, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 2 of the June Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today, we are sharing projects focused on the North Shore stamp set that will be released on Sunday, July 1st in the Waltzingmouse Stamps on line store.

We are a beach lovin' family so this stamp set as well as the My Island stamp set (which will be revealed tomorrow) is right up my alley! I scrapped a layout featuring a photo of Connor that was taken on the beach last summer while on vacation in Kauai. I incorporated many techniques that I learned from taking Stacey Young's class that can be found at Miss Art's Papercrafting School.

To create the tag shown below, I stamped the NORTH SHORE image using VersaMark ink, on a tag made using a Sizzix die, embossed using white embossing powder then stamped the decorative flourishes and sentiment. I added a little bottle embellishment that I filled with sand :)
The SUMMER starts here sentiment is from the My Island stamp set (which will be revealed tomorrow) ~ makes for the perfect title for this layout!

Wishing You...WMS July Previews Day 1 49

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, June 28, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 1 of the July Waltzingmouse Stamps previews! Over the next 4 days, Claire, Owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps will be releasing 4 new stamp sets. Today, Claire, several DT members and myself are sharing samples made focusing on the darling Heroines - Fairy Princess stamp set.
I stamped the sweet little princess image twice from the Fairy Princess stamp set ~ once on a piece of white card stock and once on piece of patterned paper. Using a Spellbinders circles LG die I cut the entire image then fussy cut the dress and bow, colored with Copics, added a bit of shimmery Stickles to her tiara, magic wand and wings. The sentiment is from Spring Baskets.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with Pals Paper Arts:
