Create the world you want to see... 38

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, June 21, 2012 @ 10:37 PM | , , , , ,

Hello! Still on vacation having lots of fun with my family here in San Diego. I'll be sure to share some photos soon :) I packed a few supplies that I brought along so I could play in my Art Journal while on this trip. Here's a page that I came up with:
To create this page in my art journal, I referred to a tutorial shown on the Balzer Designs blog ~ click HERE. My page turned out NOTHING like I had in mind or like the sample shown but I still had fun playing with all the sprays and mists :)
Although you can't really see the dimension in the photos, I used a fair amount of molding paste to add texture. Maybe on the next page it will show better!
Thanks so much for visiting! Be Sweet :)

Friends by choice...CR84FN49 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, February 25, 2012 @ 9:56 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having an amazing weekend. It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge! We are welcoming the talented Shannon White as our Guest Designer for the month of March. You can see all of her lovely creations on her blog: Enchanted Ladybug Creations. For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below. The beautiful photos used to create the graphic are Courtesy of Leslie at: a Creative Mint.

We celebrated my sweet sister Tina's birthday yesterday. Tina's not only my sister by my best girlfriend :)
Since I had my inks, sprays and paint out consuming the kitchen island, I created another page in my art journal. In celebration of Tina's birthday, I journaled a few sister quotes: "A sister is one who reaches for your hand and touches your heart."
and around the heart, it reads: Sisters by birth...
Friends by choice. This is very true for us. I have 6 biological sisters and 4 biological brothers and sadly, Tina is the only one whom I remain close with. Life happens.
Thanks so much for visiting!  For COMPLETE details, please visit the CR84FN site and for some fab inspiration, please be sure to visit: Suzanne CzosekLisa SomervilleStephanie KraftSue LelliDeborah Frings, Heather JensenAndrea Mathews and Shannon (March Guest Designer)

***I will be back Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 Eastern to share Waltzingmouse Stamps Day #1 previews. Hope to see you then! Be Sweet :)

Courage... 43

Mona Pendleton | @ 2:48 AM | , , , , ,

Hello there! I've been stamping like a mad woman lately because Waltzingmouse Stamps previews begin tomorrow, Sunday, February 26th - February 29th. I finished all my samples and can't wait to share them with you! I set aside the stamps and pulled out my art journal, Ranger Color Washes, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, stencils, etc... and had lots of inky fun!
The quote reads: "Courage is the discovery that you may not win and trying when you know you can lose." by Tom Krause

Up close, you can see the beautiful design of the  Pink Paislee She Art Vintage Doily Mask:
For color inspiration, I referred to the current challenge over at The Play Date Cafe:
Thank you for visiting! I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN and Day 1 of the Waltzingmouse Previews. Hope to see you then! Be Sweet :)

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, October 2, 2011 @ 11:30 PM | , , ,

***I have 2 posts today ~ If you are looking for my Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful post, please click HERE or continue to scroll down ~ Thanks :)***
Hi there! Today I am a Guest on the Pink Paislee blog and I am sharing these fun Halloween projects that focus on using the Phantom ~ Clear Stamps. I would be tickled pink, if you would visit me there as well and check out all the DT inspiration :) I've combined various products from both the Phantom and Mistables Collections. If you don't observe Halloween, no worries! The Phantom collection is quite elegant and versatile that it may be used for creating non-Halloween projects as well! Love that!!! The Phantom ~ Clear Stamps is jam packed with fun Halloween images making it so easy to create all sorts of projects! First up, I have a spooky tree and house:
Take a peek at the Phantom ~ Clear Stamps set shown in the photo below. Fun right???
Here's a closer view of several of the rosette ornaments:
What fun font!
The scalloped circle die cut backgrounds were all were made using a variety of patterned paper from the Mistables Collection. So fun to mist, paint or sponge your color of choice to this paper, making it completely custom for your personal needs!
Such a Spooky crow!
Shown in the photo below is a closer look at the decorated paper mache spooky house. Note the black stamped images of the Crow and Owl in the upper level windows! Seems as though they were made to fit! I misted a piece of Mistables using Tattered Angels Key Lime Glimmer Mist to create a colorful layer for the front door.
Last but not least, is a fun little banner. Basically, many of the same products were used to create this banner with the addition of chipboard letters from Phantom ~ Chipboard Alphabet that I glammed up with black glitter.
Such an elegant chandelier:
Pretty unique font don't you think?

Pink Paislee products used:
It's so much fun to create home decor projects, layouts and cards using all these fun Phantom products! If you create ANYTHING using these Pink Paislee products, please  be sure to share them in the Live Pink! Gallery. Thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet :)

A FEW Color Connections creative tour projects 61

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, May 26, 2011 @ 11:34 PM | , , ,

T.G.I.F.! Hi there! WARNING ~ this post contains A LOT of photos! I FINALLY completed A FEW :) projects as promised from the Color Connections creative tour that I recently attended last weekend hosted by 3 of my favorite papercrafting companies: Pink Paislee, Tattered Angels and Prima.

This was my first time ever attending a "workshop" type event and let me tell you, I was blown away! ALL the instructors were not only friendly but extremely patient and we used nothing but high quality products and plenty of it! I would recommend this event to ANYONE who wants to create, learn and be inspired for days while being accompanied by KIND, TALENTED ladies and using nothing but AWESOME products!

Before I get to the projects, I wanted to share this beautifully decorated table set up inside the room where the creating took place.
mmmmm....... It was not just eye candy but the goodies inside the jars were edible treats in case someone's blood sugar needed a little pick me up! :) LOL
Here we go...First up is a layout sharing a photo of my sweet hubby, Scott and I standing within the walls of the Roman Colosseum:
This layout features various patterned papers, fabric flower, rhinestone chunky bling brad, stamps and pleated trim from the gorgeous Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection, alphabet letters from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection along with a Prima flourish.
Next, is a layout sharing a photo of Scott and I standing near the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy:
This layout features various patterned papers, ephemera, and embellishments from the beautiful Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection, patterned paper, stamps and pleated trim from the gorgeous Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection, a wooden shaped banner from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection, canvas letters from Prima and vibrant Key Lime Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

The nifty "raw" wooden shaped banner was colored using Key Lime Glimmer Mist then stamped using stamps from the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection.
I "glittered up"the darling "love" birds die cut from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection ephemera:
Next, is a layout sharing a photo of Scott and I in London with the British Parliament Building in the distant background:
This layout features various patterned papers, ephemera and stamps from the awesome Pink Paislee Daily Junque Collection, a wooden shaped teapot and twine from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection, a Prima pearl embellishment and vibrant Key Lime Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

The darling wooden teapot embellishment shown on the tag below was created by spraying the "raw" wooden teapot with glimmer mist then finishing it off with a layer of glitter:
Last but not least, is a layout sharing a recent photo that you may recognize of my precious step-daughter Meredith celebrating her 14th birthday on May 19th:
This layout features various patterned papers, rhinestone trim, a mini note card, dimensional stickers, flags and rhinestone brad from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree CollectionPrima cloth flowers and various Glimmer Mists and Glam from Tattered Angels.

To create the flower embellishments we started with fab Prima cloth flowers, sprayed them using various Glimmer Mists and Glam from Tattered Angels then after they were dry, layered then attached them together using a beautiful rhinestone brad from the Pink Paislee Soiree Collection.
Please remember these are only A FEW of the projects I created while at the event! I will share more in the near future but I have to bet busy with a few design projects before I head out of town on vacation. I have a boat load of unused product from ALL of these collections and companies, that I am sure I will put to good use for either making more layouts, cards, tags or altered projects!

Thanks so much for looking ~ I hope you enjoyed your visit! I will be back on Saturday for an all new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Be Sweet!
