Easter wishes 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 21, 2015 @ 2:26 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a couple of projects to share featuring beautiful ColourArte products. In case you missed my post from Thursday, ~HERE~, please be sure to visit the ColourArte ~HERE~ blog for a step by step tutorial.
I wanted to decorate my home for the upcoming Easter holiday so I dressed up a ceramic bunny with a custom colored bow and blossom using ColourArte Radiant Rain Plum Crazy and Elderberry Shimmering Mists and surrounded it with coordinating Plum Crazy, Elderberry and Vavoom Red paper mache colored eggs:
I also made an Easter greeting card featuring the same beautiful ColourArte products:
The crackled textured background was created using crackle paste along with a stencil then colorized with all the same products as the eggs:
Here are the eggs up close: Egg and blossom shown below were colored using Radiant Rain Elderberry Shimmering Mist:
Egg #2 was colored using Radiant Rain Plum Crazy Shimmery Mist:
and egg #3 was colorized using Radiant Gels Vavoom Red Dimensional Paint:
For color and sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Fusion challenge:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a terrific weekend!
Be Sweet ;)

dream as if you'll live forever 40

Hi there! It's time for the first Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of 2015! It's all so very exciting and we are kicking things off celebrating both old and new
This project is full of lots of goodies, both old and new!
I embellished the front as well as the inside of an altered configurations book / shadowbox with a variety of fantastic new and old die cuts.
I recently purchased the beautiful Tim Holtz Layered Butterfly die and have been waiting to put it to good use. Rather than using the coordinating texture fade to add texture to the die cut butterfly, I applied crackled texture paste, allowed to dry then applied brushed pewter Distress Paint and seedless preserves Distress Stain
To create the background behind the beautiful butterfly, I layered and adhered previously Gesso'd Trellis Frameworks  and GADGET GEARS die cuts:
Once dry, I randomly applied  seedless preserves and dusty concord Distress Stains:
On the inside, I featured a photo of my sweet daughter Angie that was taken when we went to visit the Butterfly Wonderland located here in Phoenix. It is FULL of amazingly beautiful butterflies fluttering about EVERYWHERE! I filled the smaller boxes with die cut MINI BUTTERFLIES and MINI HEARTS:
Peeking out from under the heart is a beautiful ELEMENTS REMNANT RUB:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you join along with theSimon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge blog to see all the DT's fabulous inspiration!

Wish 51

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, July 21, 2013 @ 9:01 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I'm so excited to have my first project to share with you today for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge on the Simon Says Monday Challenge blog! This week we are celebrating the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge's 3rd birthday. To celebrate, we are having a birthday inspired challenge. The theme is one of celebration ~ I hope you come join in the fun!

A party isn't complete without treats to share so I opted to create an industrial inspired cake.

Quite some time ago, I fell in love with the foil technique that Tim Holtz shared here. Now Tim has designed the Riveted Metal Texture Fade embossing folder that makes all that tedious work unnecessary!

I covered two various size paper mache boxes using Metal Foil tape sheets that were embossed using the Riveted Metal Texture Fade embossing folder. I adhered the boxes together then randomly sponged on black soot Distress Ink. Now the cake was ready to be embellished so I made a variety of die cut flowers.
To create the flowers, I adhered Metal Foil tape sheets to Grunge Paper, die cut using the Tattered Florals Bigz Flower die and Tattered Flower Garland Decorative Strip. Once all the flowers were die cut, I embossed all the flowers using the French Script Texture Fade embossing folder, layered together then added color using Pink Sherbet Alcohol Ink and black soot Distress Ink.
I added a variety of metal embellishments: Idea-ology Keyhole, Sprocket Gears, Idea-ology Locket Keys, Metal Watch Clock Face and Mini Gears Sprockets. I completed the cake with a stamped sentiment from the Stuff To Say that was framed using an Ornate Plate. To add a bit of interest to all the metal findings, I lightly applied Snow Cap Acrylic paint and  black soot Distress Ink.
