Happy spring 32

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, March 12, 2015 @ 7:38 AM | ,

Hi there! It's that time of year again when many of us have spring fever? I know I have been bitten by the bug ~ have you? The Major League Baseball has kicked off spring training baseball games here in Phoenix, both Angie and Meredith will be on spring break next week, the temperatures are in the 80's, the sky is blue, so many plants and trees are blossoming and allergy season is in full swing! Once can't help but have spring fever even here in the desert! With spring in mind, I pulled out one of my all time PTI stamp sets and made a couple of cards along with a combination of pretty patterned papers from a couple of Pion Design collections including: Vintage Wedding, My Beloved Son and Paris Flea Market:
One of the many things I love about Pion Design papers is their versatility and how easily they can be mixed and matched.
I even dusted off my stash of Copic markers!
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the retrosketches sketch challenge:
I was also inspired by the card Concept challenge to create a Clean and Layered style card:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Be Sweet ;)

Absolutely Fabulous 37

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, March 10, 2015 @ 9:39 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of my dear sister Tina that was taken more than 50 years ago along with beautiful papers from the newly released Pion Design Vintage Wedding collection.
The Vintage Wedding collection is quite versatile and may be easily used for any occasion type of project.
Tina's not only my sister but she's my best girlfriend :) There's nothing the two of us can't conquer together!
To create the background, I collaged a variety of Vintage Wedding papers then added colour using various inks including the pretty ColourArte Radiant Rain Sea Foam:

Once the background was complete, I embellished with die cut foliage, flowers from my stash, a stamped clock face and a duo of die cut hearts that were colorized using the pretty ColourArte Radiant Rain Sea Foam:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Sketchabilities sketch challenge:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great week!

Hi there! I hope you are having a great week! Today I have a couple of projects to share featuring beautiful Pion Design papers from the newly released Vintage Wedding collection.
The Vintage Wedding collection is very versatile and may easily be used to create any occasion projects. Since I have many photos of our wedding day on hand, I scrapped one of those :)

I embellished with a die cut doily and butterfly which were made using pretty patterned coordinating papers from the Vintage Wedding collection:
The foliage was also die cut using coordinating Vintage Wedding papers along with flowers from my stash:
I also made a card for my dear sister's friend who's husband has become suddenly ill.

Birthday wishes 25

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, March 1, 2015 @ 11:40 AM | , , , ,

Happy March! So did March come in like a lion where you live? Thankfully not here ~ we are enjoying 70 degree temps with partially blue sky. Makes for perfect hiking weather :) Today I have a couple of cards to share featuring beautiful beautiful patterned papers from the Pion Design Paris Flea Market collections. The first one up is a birthday card for my dear sister Tina:
I embellished both cards with a trio of homemade die cut rolled roses, foliage, a stamped clock and sentiment:
For a touch of shimmer, each rose was dusted with a sprinkling of glitter:
I cleaned the clock stamp but there was still stubborn black ink that remained on the stamp. When I stamped the image in the tan ink pad, the inks mixed. I kinda like the final result. Something different.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current cardabilities sketch challenge:
Many thanks for visiting ~ I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Be Sweet ;)

Hi there! It's hard to believe that February is nearly over ~ time sure flies. Today I have a couple of projects to share featuring beautiful patterned papers from the Pion Design My Precious Daughter collection. First up is a layout featuring a photo of sweet Meredith that was taken at least 14 years ago when Barbie's were the center of her world! :)
~she still drank from a sippie cup!
and still had all of her baby teeth :)
I created a textured, inky background using various ColourArte products:
and embellished with a variety of blossoms from my stash and die cut foliage:

From the scraps, I made a rather clean and simple greeting card:
For layout inspiration, I joined along with the current My Scraps and More Sketch challenge:
and for the card sketch and color inspiration, I joined along with the current retrosketches sketch challenge and the color throw down color challenge:

Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great weekend!
