ALL Hearts Come Home... 42

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 13, 2012 @ 10:30 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a terrific weekend! It seems like it has been forever since I played along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge so I decided to set aside some time and join in the fun :)
I inked up the beautiful heart from Seasons of Love - Tags with Versamark ink then embossed using fine white embossing powder to reveal that gorgeous design. If you have visited my blog before today then you know it's not a secret that I LOVE paper crafting dies and this set is just one of MANY of Claire's that coordinate with Spellbinders dies.
To finish off my card, I added a sweet rolled glitter kissed rose:
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge site to see what all the other designers have created and for COMPLETE details on how to join along!

Hey there...WMSC94 44

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, April 21, 2012 @ 12:17 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! After returning home from vacation, I needed some inspiration to get papercrafting MOJO jump started, so I joined along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
To create my card, I combined a sentiment from Compact Sentiments with a pretty wreath pattern stamp from Faux Fun Circles which coordinates perfectly with a Spellbinders Standard Circles SM die template. I then layered the circular sentiment die cut piece on top of a pretty die cut made using a Spellbinders Tear Drop Circle die template. The pretty patterned papers are from the Melissa Frances Attic Treasures collection.
Thanks so much for looking! I hope you ink up your Waltzingmouse Stamps and join in the fun! For some awesome inspiration, please be sure to visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site and see what the Mischief Makers and other DT Members have created! Be Sweet :)

CR84FN34 2nd Week 57

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, July 24, 2011 @ 12:00 AM | , , ,

Happy Sunday dear blogging friends! Have you missed me as much as I have missed all of you? :) My dear hubby, Scott and I took a Caribbean cruise over the past week and just returned this evening ~ I'll share some photos later this week! I love vacationing but it sure is great to be back home. I think I can speak for Scott and say we both missed our family and furry friends, Gretchen and Griffin not to mention sleeping in our own bed. NOTHING like your own bed and pillow! Don't you agree?
It's the second week of the CR84FN34 Color Challenge. Thanks to all who have joined along so far and thanks to those who take the time to leave such encouraging comments :) I made this Thank You card for my sweet sister who took care of our fur babies and showed them lots of TLC!
I combined some beautiful Melissa Frances patterned paper with various Waltzingmouse Stamps. The little butterfly embellishments were stamped using the polka dot background stamp from Off Beat Backgrounds,  the gorgeous polka dot label is from Very Vintage Labels No. 10 and the sentiment is from Rescue Remedies Additions.
For sketch inspiration, I referred to this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, June 21, 2011 @ 11:30 PM | , , ,

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are off to the official start of Summer (here in the US)! It's been quite hot here in AZ as to be expected. So thankful for air conditioning :)Last week, much to my surprise, I had a card featured on the Melissa Frances blog. If you have a chance, I would so appreciate you stopping by her blog click HERE and maybe even leaving some love :)

I had to make a Sympathy card for my sweet friend, Dianne, who's 60 year old brother passed away suddenly and completely unexpected from an ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm aka a Triple A.
I started by first choosing various Melissa Frances DP then stamped a polka dot label from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No.4 set using SU Bordering Blue ink then using a Spellbinders Labels Four die template to cut/emboss which was then layered it on top of a label cut using a Spellbinders Labels Four SM die template.
For sketch inspiration, I referred to WMSC3. REMEMBER: This week marks a special anniversary for  Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge  there is a celebration going on! Please be sure to visit the site ~click HERE~ for COMPLETE details and wonderful inspiration!
Thanks so much for looking! Hope you have a great day! Be Sweet :)

Hi there! Today, I think he will be occupied playing with his new toys ;) Both of our Fathers have passed away so it's all about Scott here! How about you ~ any big celebration plans?

This week we are playing with Aqua, Green and Yellow. The pretty graphic was created using photos from a Creative Mint.

Lovely Lavender Roses...WMSC42 50

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, April 9, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! Any fun weekend plans? Yesterday after school, we took my step teenage children to see the hilarious movie "Arthur" starring Russel Brand. I definitely recommend seeing it if you are looking for a good belly laugh :)

On another note, it's Saturday so the means it is time again for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
Here's my interpretation:
This CAS sketch was the perfect opportunity to challenge myself to stamp my own "patterned paper". I made two cards with the only difference being I used different types of ink to stamp the overall text image. The text image on card #1, the one on the left or shown below, was stamped using a water soluable ink. You can see how the Tattered Angels Dew Drop Glimmer Mist caused the ink to slightly run. I actually like this look myself.
On Card #2, the one on the right or shown below, was stamped using a dye based ink. did not cause this type of ink to run. I am still happy with it, but I love the more distressed look on card #1. Which do you like better?
I used the following Copic markers to color the rose images:
In case you were wondering how I stamped the patterned paper, I put together a tutorial to share.

Step 1: Stamp rose bud images from Roses In Bloom, color with Copic markers:
Step 2: Stamp text image from Text-It:
Step 3: Add a bit of overall shimmer to patterned paper using Tattered Angels Dew Drop Glimmer Mist, use heat gun to dry.
I don't know if you can see the overall shimmery effect, but it sure does look beautiful IRL and on my computer screen :)
That is all I have to share today, so I hope you have enjoyed what I made and maybe feel inspired to play along! Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN challenge. Be Sweet :)

Thank You...WMSC38 44

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 12, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , , ,

Happy Saturday! Do you have any plans for the weekend? Are you going anywhere or have you been on Spring Break vacation? My hubby and I have been vacationing over the past few days at "our home away from home" in sunny San Diego, CA. The weather has been pleasant. We had fun renting bicycles yesterday and touring around Coronado Island. Today, my hubby was in techy HEAVEN! We waited in line for nearly five hours for the release of the iPad 2 :)

Anyways, if you are hanging around home and have some free time, perhaps you may want to take on this week's awesome Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge?
I pulled out LF-114 Grand Circles and LF-249 Grand Big Scalloped Circles
to create this card. I stamped a label from Very Vintage Labels 10 then stamped the "Thank You" sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions in the center of the beautiful label.
The 3 butterflies were made using 2 different Spellbinders™die templates: S3-146 Butterflies Two and S4-123 Flying Beauties. I made the 2 little butterflies by stamping an image from Musical Backgrounds then cut using a butterfly die template from S4-123 Flying Beauties.
To make the pretty Teal colored butterfly, I cut/embossed a few butterfly shapes using a die template from S3-146 Butterflies Two. I took advantage of the unique stenciling ability of the Spellbinders™ butterfly die sponging on ink to reveal the gorgeous design:
