Caribbean Inspiration 42

Happy Tuesday! Scott and I FINALLY took the time to put together a few pics from our recent Caribbean cruise vacation to share with you. We sailed on Royal Caribbean's Oasis Of The Seas ~ such a magnificent ship!

Here is a video taken by Scott while standing on Maho Beach, St. Maarten watching the airplanes land at the Princess Juliana International Airport adjacent to the beach. Not something you see everyday! Check it out:

The shades of the Caribbean waters inspired me to make a shabby lap quilt, (measures 50"x60"),  using various shades of aquas, blues and greens. I haven't really quilted in about 20 years or so but I fell in love with the sample made from this pattern and thought I would take on the challenge! Now I am hooked on quilting once again!

It is so comfy, cozy and super easy to make on the quilting difficulty scale :)

My dear sister Tina asked If I would make her one using predominantly pinks and greens. Thankfully she chose one of my favorite color combos so selecting the fabric was super easy :) Love when that happens! Here's a pic of the fabric that I am using to make Tina's minus the one on the far left (changed my mind on that one):

Old Glory...JUGS33 54

Hi There! Hope you all had a great week & are ready for the weekend! It's time for another color challenge with Just Us Girls. Sweet Lisa chose this week's color combo for JUGS32. Hope you come join the fun!

"Old Glory", All American, Memorial Day, The 4th of July (Independence Day), Freedom & ALL the men & women in the past, present & future who have served, are currently serving & will serve in the United States military come to my mind when I think of these 3 colors.

For a lil' added dimension, I paperpieced the basket, the tablecloth, the flag & the stars. Cutting out those lil' images is hard on the eyes! WARNING: Don't attempt to cut teensy weensy images using a sharp object in the wee morning hours! :) Ask me how I know?

The font that Lauren has chosen for the © Just For You stamp set, just screams elegance! Don't you think?

The cards looked a little naked until I stamped a whimsical flourish image from the ©Fanciful Flourishes set! YIKES :) Once I had the flourish image stamped, I adhered the multi-layered butterfly embellishment that I made using several of my favorite Spellbinders™ products :)

Happy 1st Birthday Waltzingmouse! 43

Hi Everyone! Here today to wish Claire, Owner/Designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps a Happy Birthday as her company turns ONE today! There is a BIG celebration going on over at Waltzingmouse Stamps so if you are up to having some fun, please head on over to Claire's blog HERE. Claire challenged us with a lil' sketch for a chance to win some awesome prizes! Here is my take on Claire's sketch:I combined the beautiful Waltzingmouse Seasons of Love - Tags set with some of the oh so pretty DP from The Girls' Paperie.I inked up the lacy heart image with Versamark ink then embossed with white embossing powder. I think the image looks like delicate lace! It fits so perfectly with Spellbinders™ Nestabilities Classic Heart die template! Match made in my stamping Heaven!

I inked up the "Love You" image, stamped then using a Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals LG die template, cut out the image & inked the edges with some Ranger ink.

Here is my interpretation of Maria's fabulous sketch:

I recently found these gorgeous ornate Pink Paislee Artisan Elements at my favorite LSS. They are really fun to work with because you can ink them up, spray them with Glimmer Mist or leave them as is! I chose to sponge on a lil' distressing ink around the edges. The beautiful sentiment is one of many featured in the Waltzingmouse Sweethearts set.

I have given my hands a try at making fan fold/accordian flowers lately & have been very pleased with the outcome :) What do you think? Do you make these?

Hello there...More MTME May Release 22

Hello there! Here to share a card made with a few My Time Made Easy, LLC stamps from the May Release. Lauren & ALL the MTME DT members will be sharing their awesome creations today as well. Please be sure to stop by each of their sites to see what they have been up to :)

This card features 2 fun stamps: 1 from the MTME © Paper Pattern Pieces & 1 from the © Sensational Sentiments. BOTH sets contain so many images, it was difficult to choose which ones to use (sigh).

First I inked up & stamped the circular floral image then the sentiment. That is one feature I love about clear stamps, is the ability to exactly where you are going to place the image - takes out the guess work!
