Cherish... 39

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying the magic of the holiday season! I'm so happy because Jerry (my son) and April (his fiancee) arrived last night and will be staying with us for the holidays :) April and I are going to do some last minute shopping today ~ hopefully the crowds and traffic won't be too bad.

I had a chance to play with some pretty vintage inspired patterned papers from the Swedish company ~ Pion design and made this layout featuring a photo of Meredith that was taken several years ago while we were visiting the beautiful San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

I cut to size and layered several pieces of various patterned papers, added some texture and design using the MFT Abstract Petals Stencil then embellished with a few flowers and foliage made using a combination of Heartfelt Creations stamps and Spellbinders dies.

The leaves tucked under the big blossom above and the heart shown below are actually beautiful faux metallic buttons that I recently purchased at a local craft store! All I did was snip the button loop off the back to create a flat surface making the button easy to adhere to the layout.

JOY...CSI103 32

Hello! Today I have another layout to share as a Guest Detective this month at CSI. In case you are not familiar, CSI is a weekly scrapbook challenge site that encourages one to try new colors schemes and to tell your stories. Here's the current CSI challenge:

I created a layout featuring a Christmas photo of Meredith and Connor that was taken years ago.

The background was created using several die cut pieces of paper that I made using a variety of acrylic paints and the Gelli Arts Printing Plate. I die cut the photo using a Die-namics Stitched Circle STAX die, layered it another then embellished with a couple of Red Hot Poinsettias.

For lots of texture and design, I added several die cut Kraft stars that I rolled through the paper crimper as well adding even more texture using the Stargaze Stencil.

Once I had everything adhered in place, I randomly stamped the polka dot and chicken wire images from Distressed Background Blocks:

I used the Inspiration words joy and season in my journaling

Hi there! I am happy to say that I have my Christmas shopping completed, gifts all wrapped BUT I am still making a few last minute Christmas cards! Thankfully none that need to be mailed ~ just hand delivered like this VERY clean and simple one for my boss:

I slipped the gift card in a 3 x 4 die cut pocket, added faux stitched die cut strips and a bow using dies from Die-namics Blueprints 3 and Die-namics Blueprints 2 sets. I stamped the Joy sentiment from Starry Christmas on a die cut Traditional tag then attached it to a Pink Lemonade button using a piece of hemp:

Merry Christmas...MFTWSC155 29

Hi there! Today I have yet another Christmas card to share that I made for the MFTWSC sketch challenge. 

Here's this week's sketch: 

I made a wintery forest scene on my card:

To create the scene, I die cut pretty 13arts patterned paper using both of the Die-namics Tree Lines dies, stamped / embossed a trio of Sophisticated Snowflakes on Sno Cone card stock and finished it off with a sentiment from Starry Christmas:
