Lil' Franky 25

Hi Everyone! This past weekend I was on Fall Break vacation in Southern California with my Dear Hubby & stepkids :) We went to Walt Disney Land for a day. I would like to share some of my favorite photos from our trip:

My inspiration for my Lil' Franky card came from my visit to Disney :) I squeezed 3 challenges in this card! 1. For Sketch inspiration, I used the fun Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch Challenge 7 C4C7, 2. Pile it on! Challenge #19 - Ready For Halloween & 3. Humble Pie Stamps, Buttons & Bling challenge. When my DH saw this card, he asked me why Frankenstein was coming out of a pumpkin?! He went on to say "You're not going to put that on your blog are you?" Sometimes, I wish he wasn't so brutally honest! I said "Why YES I am!" I'd love to know if you are ready for Halloween? Here is my Lil' Franky card:

I stamped the background paper with SU Lavender Lace ink & PTI Polka Dot Basics II. I have yet to master my lil' craft sewing machine, so I hand stitch on my cards LOL.

Using a SU oval punch, I punched 5 ovals, sponged the edges with SU Only Orange ink, then layered & adhered them together with a 2 way glue pen. The Scalloped circle was a lil' plain so I punched holes around the perimeter using the Crop-A-Dile II.

Just Us Girls Challenge....JUGS3 36

Hi Girls! Can you believe today, is the 3rd challenge already at the Just Us Girls challenge site? Here is my Just Us Girls Color Challenge Ornament set:

I love how the PTI Pure Poppy just seems to POP off the PTI Aqua Mist!
The SU Delightful Decorations stamp set has a matching punch that makes it super easy & time saving to create with this set!
The Cuttlebug Ornament EF is from last year & it was one of those things I just had to have! Well, I pulled it out & used it for the FIRST time when I made this card! :) LOL

When I make a Holiday card, I am trying really hard to make a matching gift bag of sorts, so come Christmas time, I have plenty on hand & I am not scrambling! Papertrey Ink's My Timeless Template the Fold N' Go, designed by the fabulous Lauren Meader, is one of my favorite gift box templates! It is super easy to make & I love to decorate it! :)

As you can see, the front panel of the Fold N' Go is big enough to fit the same image as the card!

Snowflakes, Swirls, Mittens & Gifts 32

Hi Everyone! (2nd post on Saturday) I hope all of you are having a great weekend! :) Are you feeling inspired yet to play along with the Just Us Girls color challenge this week? This week the Just Us Girls Challenge is a beautiful color challenge hosted by Dana as you may have already seen. If you haven't already, be sure to visit the Just Us Girls site & see what my girlfriends have created to inspire you to play along with us! I made these wintry cards while combining 3/4 challenges! In no particular order: 1. Forsketch inspiration: Kazan's fabulous Sketch 37, 2s4y37 & Cheryl's Bonus Sketch 2. For color inspiration: Color Throwdown #64, CTD64 (I don't have Baja Breeze so I substituted Bashful Blue), & 3. the SPCC #19 challenge was to use Embossing. Here is my 1st card using Kazan's Sketch 37:

I inked up the PTI mittens with SU Bashful Blue ink, stamped, then cut them out. Using a few glue dots, I adhered them to the embossed center multi-layered scalloped circle.

This week there was a BONUS sketch to play with designed by Cheryl:

I wanted to use the same color combo & stamp sets, so here is what I created using Cheryl's BONUS sketch:

I love those lil' jingle bells used on cards :) I tied a big button on top of the gift, to serve as my bow.

Christmas Joy from Southern California 18

Hi Everyone! I am writing this to you while I am on a mini vacation in Southern California with my step-kids & hubby. Those of you who have been visiting me here at Cupcake's Creations, know I ALWAYS take a few stampin' supplies with me when I travel :) I made this card combining 3 challenges: I have been lovin' the paper piecing technique challenge this week at the Just Us Girls site, so I gave it another try! I also used Samantha's "Traditional" Christmas Color Combo #6 & Taylor's amazing sketch #86, TESC86. I embossed the SU Very Vanilla cs with using the Cuttlebug Victoria EF.

Using a very sharp scissors, I cut out ALL the Poinsettias & the green foliage & pieced it on my card!
