Hi there!  It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! From soft shabby chic colors to white washing with gesso, being inspired by Easter to using actual pastels, this week we challenge you to be inspired by the softer side of the color wheel…
I was inspired to create a shabby / vintage style greeting card:
One can never have too many greeting cards on hand so I thought this challenge was a great time to pull out the beautiful pastel Victorian Velvet Distress Ink pad and put it to good use. The background of the card was stamped with the text image from Papillon, heat embossed, then Victorian Velvet and Iced Spruce Distress Inks were randomly applied. For the focal point, a Mini Cabinet card was adhered in place and embellished with a crackled die cut Mini Butterfly:
For the sentiment, a Remnant Rub was applied:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you join along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge blog to see all the DT's fabulous inspiration!

Hi there! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Do you have stamps that are versatile? That can be used many ways? This week we challenge you to use a stamp multiple ways on the same project or use the same stamp in different colors or ways on multiple projects!
I was inspired to create a layout using 1 stamp, 3 ways:
The woodgrain stamp from Trust The Magic cling stamp set was the perfect versatile stamp for my outdoor themed layout featuring a photo of Connor that was taken more than 15 years ago:
I inked up the stamp with Vintage Photo Distress Ink then stamped my heart out on a piece of paper from the French Industrial Paper Stash collection. Once I was finished stamping, I put my newly stamped patterned paper to use in the following three ways: I pieced a patchwork background border:

die cut Mini Heart embellishments:
and a frame to highlight a stamped butterfly image:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you join along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge blog to see all the DT's fabulous inspiration!

Easter wishes 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 21, 2015 @ 2:26 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a couple of projects to share featuring beautiful ColourArte products. In case you missed my post from Thursday, ~HERE~, please be sure to visit the ColourArte ~HERE~ blog for a step by step tutorial.
I wanted to decorate my home for the upcoming Easter holiday so I dressed up a ceramic bunny with a custom colored bow and blossom using ColourArte Radiant Rain Plum Crazy and Elderberry Shimmering Mists and surrounded it with coordinating Plum Crazy, Elderberry and Vavoom Red paper mache colored eggs:
I also made an Easter greeting card featuring the same beautiful ColourArte products:
The crackled textured background was created using crackle paste along with a stencil then colorized with all the same products as the eggs:
Here are the eggs up close: Egg and blossom shown below were colored using Radiant Rain Elderberry Shimmering Mist:
Egg #2 was colored using Radiant Rain Plum Crazy Shimmery Mist:
and egg #3 was colorized using Radiant Gels Vavoom Red Dimensional Paint:
For color and sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Fusion challenge:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a terrific weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! 34

Mona Pendleton | Monday, March 16, 2015 @ 9:45 PM | , , , ,

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all whom celebrate! Today I have a card to share that I made for my dear Irish DIL in celebration of St. Patrick's Day featuring a variety of pretty ColourArte products.
To create this card, I added lots of texture to a piece of watercolor paper using a stencil and modeling paste. Once dry, I randomly applied Radiant Rain Fern and Radiant Rain Honey Dew sprays. I topped it off with a Honey Dew colored bow and a shaker full of pretty sequins.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current As You See It challenge:
as well as this month's Mixed Media Monthly Card challenge where the theme is Spring:
Many thanks for stopping by!

Hi there! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Referencing the saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" this week, we're all about animals!
I was inspired to create a layout featuring my two sweet dogs ~ Gretchen and Griffin:
I love to run but my dogs little four legs can't quite go the distance, so I take them for a ride in their stroller.
One of my favorite photos of my sweet dogs positioned in a Cabinet Card Frame made for a great focal point on my layout.
To compliment the vintage frame, I combined pretty patterned papers from the Wallflower Cardstock Pack then embellished with Rusty Hinge colored die cut Grungeboard Gadget Gears
For added interest, various Remnant Rubs were randomly applied:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you join along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge blog to see all the DT's fabulous inspiration!
