Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, February 29, 2012 @ 11:00 AM | ,

Welcome to the February WMS Blog Waltz! Today, Claire, the DT and myself are sharing samples focusing on using Paris Nouveau & Labels 25. ALL NINE stamp sets will be available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store! You should have arrived here from Claire's blog where the celebration began and where you can find ALL the details!

First up, is a card featuring the Eiffel Tower image from Paris Nouveau paired with a sweet sentiment from Compact Sentiments:
I stamped the Eiffel Tower image, distressed the edges using both a distressing tool and Distressing ink then stitched in place. I stamped the sweet sentiment from Paris Nouveau then cut using a die template from Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants.
Next, is a card featuring a pretty label from Labels 25 which coordinates with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five die template and a wonderful sentiment from Compact Sentiments.
I first stamped the pretty design from Paris Nouveau then layered the sentiment label on top:
That's all I have to share today ~ I hope you have enjoyed my projects today! To continue with the waltz, please visit Sandie's blog ~ click HERE. Thanks so much for looking ~ Be Sweet :)

Happy Tuesday! Time for a new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  and stamped the sentiment directly on the darling Melissa Frances patterned paper.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Sweet Sunday sketch challenge:

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 2 of the February Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews. Claire will be releasing NINE stamp sets on, February 29th. Today Claire and many of the DT members will be sharing projects made featuring Nordic Spring and Florentine Frippery.

First up is a card I made using a beautiful label and sentiment from the Florentine Frippery set along with pretty patterned paper from the Pink Paislee London Market collection:
The gorgeous label coordinates with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Four. I hand cut the label because I do not own that die as of yet.
For my second project, I scrapped another layout of my sweet Westies, Gretchen and Griffin using many designs from the Nordic Spring set:
The pretty Nordic heart image coordinates with Spellbinders Classic Heart die template which I then layered on top of a scalloped heart cut using a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart die template.
I stamped three different darling patterns all from the Nordic Spring set:

***I have two posts today, if you are looking for my CR84FN post, please continue to scroll down or click HERE. I apologize in advance :)

Welcome to the February Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day 1! Claire will be releasing NINE stamp sets on, February 29th. Today Claire and many of the DT members will be sharing projects they've made featuring but not limited to: French Country, Chicken Wire and Make Your Mark. First up, I created a layout featuring lots of stamps from both French Country and Chicken Wire.

I scrapped a layout of my sweet four legged fur babies, Gretchen and Griffin ;) See the fun chicken wire designs stamped on the background here and there? Those stamps are one of two from the Chicken Wire set:
I stamped then heat embossed the beautiful intricate design using a stamp from French Country. I think it's such an elegant design, don't you?
To make this pretty flower embellishment, I stamped the petal shape design to form a flower then I carefully, trimmed the flower.
To create this card, I stamped the pretty ornate background from French Country using SU Perfect Plum ink, sewn on a beautiful decorative trim piece that was stamped using Pale Plum and then a strip of the gorgeous design then topped it off with a sentiment from French Country as well.
I stamped one of the many images from Make Your Mark on the back of the card to add a bit of personalization from you to your beloved.

Friends by choice...CR84FN49 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, February 25, 2012 @ 9:56 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having an amazing weekend. It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge! We are welcoming the talented Shannon White as our Guest Designer for the month of March. You can see all of her lovely creations on her blog: Enchanted Ladybug Creations. For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below. The beautiful photos used to create the graphic are Courtesy of Leslie at: a Creative Mint.

We celebrated my sweet sister Tina's birthday yesterday. Tina's not only my sister by my best girlfriend :)
Since I had my inks, sprays and paint out consuming the kitchen island, I created another page in my art journal. In celebration of Tina's birthday, I journaled a few sister quotes: "A sister is one who reaches for your hand and touches your heart."
and around the heart, it reads: Sisters by birth...
Friends by choice. This is very true for us. I have 6 biological sisters and 4 biological brothers and sadly, Tina is the only one whom I remain close with. Life happens.
Thanks so much for visiting!  For COMPLETE details, please visit the CR84FN site and for some fab inspiration, please be sure to visit: Suzanne CzosekLisa SomervilleStephanie KraftSue LelliDeborah Frings, Heather JensenAndrea Mathews and Shannon (March Guest Designer)

***I will be back Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 Eastern to share Waltzingmouse Stamps Day #1 previews. Hope to see you then! Be Sweet :)

Mona Pendleton | @ 2:48 AM | , , , , ,

Hello there! I've been stamping like a mad woman lately because Waltzingmouse Stamps previews begin tomorrow, Sunday, February 26th - February 29th. The quote reads: "Courage is the discovery that you may not win and trying when you know you can lose." by Tom Krause

Up close, you can see the beautiful design of the  Pink Paislee She Art Vintage Doily Mask:
For color inspiration, I referred to the current challenge over at The Play Date Cafe:

Creative with Quotes (Pink Paislee She Art) 55

Mona Pendleton | @ 6:30 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Today I am sharing a project that I created for the Pink Paislee blog based on this week's  theme "Creative with Quotes". I would be tickled pink if you would visit the Pink Paislee blog (click HERE) as well :)
I created a canvas using mainly products from the newly released Pink Paislee She Art collection designed by Mixed Media artist, Christy Tomlinson. The She Art - Truth paper is FULL of some of my favorite quotes including "She didn't care if it was perfect". I think as designers, painters, artists, crafters, etc... we need to remember that our projects don't NEED to be perfect. It's ok to make a mistake, it's an opportunity to learn. If you don't like something, simply paint over it! :)
The She Art collection contains so many products making it so easy to create a mixed media project and so much more! To create my girl's dress, I combined the Courage polk a dot design along with the Soar multicolored/patterned design. Using fun designs such as criss crosses, scallops and zig-zag stitches from the Press Ons Rub Ons Doodle Art Stitches.
I added a bit of dimension and texture using the Vintage Doily Mask along with molding paste. What a fun and wonderfully designed stencil don't you think? I also used Press Ons Artsy Textures which add another layer and fun patterns.
In case you are interested to see how I created this canvas, shown below are some of the steps taken along the way. First I cut various pieces of patterned She Art papers and adhered it to the canvas.
Using the Vintage Doily Mask as my pattern, I applied molding paste to add dimension and texture:
Once you fill in desired area of the stencil with molding paste, gently lift up and remove the stencil revealing the gorgeous design. Allow to dry completely.
Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you enjoyed my project :)
