BIRTHDAY wishes and clearly Christmas 48

Mona Pendleton | Friday, December 5, 2014 @ 11:42 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have several cards to share. First I wanted to share with you that Simon Says Stamp is celebrating DieCember™ Simon Says Stamp and is releasing 15 new dies to celebrate! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp blog~ click HERE ~ to read all about it!
We will be celebrating Scott's birthday this coming Tuesday, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to showcase the new Simon Says Stamp Balloon Bouquet craft die:
To create the bouquet of balloons, I ran the Balloon Bouquet craft die through my die cutting machine x 4 ~ once for each color used, adhered the balloon pieces in place then finished it off with a sentiment:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge:
Next I have a collection of Christmas / holiday mixed media style cards to share:
All six are quite similar, but like a snowflake ~ no two are the same ;)
To create this set of cards, I combined pretty papers from the Pion Design Shoreline Treasures collection:
For additional interest and design, I randomly applied texture paste to the background along with a stencil:
After the paste was dry and the cracks magically appeared, I randomly applied Peacock Feathers and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks:
I adhered the die cut houses, hearts and sentiments in place:
For a final touch, I randomly applied Ranger Gesso:

For theme inspiration, I joined along with the December Mixed Media Card Challenge:
and for color inspiration, I joined along with the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great weekend!
Be Sweet ;)

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! Stamptember is in full swing over at Simon Says Stamp and I really hope you'll join us for a month long stamp party full of inspiration and celebrations. It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week we are having a blog hop starting with Andrea's blog and the challenge theme is: to use a Simon Says Stamp exclusive product (s):

For my projects, I made a couple tags featuring a variety of Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products. The background texture on the tag shown below, was created using the DIAMOND CIRCLES stencil:
Including the following: beautiful stamped butterflies from Butterfly Friends and coordinating dies:
a delicate DANVILLE WREATH:
Next up is another tag featuring even more Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products!
The textured background was created using the BLOCKED CIRCLES stencil:
I embellished with a stamped butterfly from Butterfly Friends along with a LARGE HEART DOILY:
Here's how I created the backgrounds:

Step 1: Apply Texture Paste using the DIAMOND CIRCLES and BLOCKED CIRCLES stencils:
Step 2: Allow to dry then add colors of choice using Distress Stains and water:

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. For more than 10 years we have celebrated rubber stamping and its glory. We work to bring companies from around the world together in a one stop shopping environment. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember®" event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the delight of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.

Many thanks for stopping by! If you are hopping along, please be sure to visit Sandra as well as the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to begin the hop.

Be Sweet ;)

Hi there! Today I have a few projects to share featuring pretty Pion Design papers from the newly released Days of Winter collection. First up is a snowflake shaped wooden holiday hanging which features a beautiful image from From Grandma's Attic ~ tinted. I was thrilled to find the snowflake on clearance at a local for store for only $1! I altered it with some white gesso, crackle paint and glitter flakes:
All the die cut circles were made using a variety of Spellbinders dies and the sentiment is from  MFT Starry Christmas:
I finished it off with a few die cut sprigs and several flowers from my stash:
Next up is a card featuring a pretty image from Days of Winter:
I framed the image in a die cut rectangle then topped off with a die cut snowflake:
For the card sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge:
Many thanks for visiting!
Be Sweet ;)

Happy Holidays 30

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 25, 2014 @ 2:20 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I'm here today to celebrate Christmas in July! Yesterday, Pion Design revealed the release of their newest collection ~ Days of WinterIn Pion's words ~ "Days of Winter is a collection capturing the essence of Winter and Christmas inspired by a snow-covered village of old times. With images and patterns of ice skaters on a frozen lake, calming walks through a silent landscape, delicate snowflakes, Christmas trees and Winter birds you will be given the opportunity to pass on the holiday spirit to all those precious to you."

When I received the box full of this beautiful collection, I couldn't wait to create! I made a holiday themed wall hanging featuring a gorgeous image from Lilly and Siri:
I combined the beautiful image with several layers other pretty papers from the Days of Winter collection then layered all on top of a piece of cut to size corrugated cardboard. I heat embossed enamel along the edges to create a snowy / frosted look:
I embellished with a few die cut pieces of foliage, doily, snowflakes and a variety of flowers from my stash. The sentiment is from Starry Christmas:
I am entering this in the current Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge where the challenge is to feature some sort of embossing on your project.

Many thanks for visiting ~ I hope you enjoy your weekend!
Be Sweet ;)
