Ain't No Sunshine...Guest Designing 20

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, May 10, 2018 @ 4:00 PM | ,

Hi! Today I have the honor of guest designing with the talented design team at A Vintage Journey. The May challenge theme is all about Words and Music. If you'd like to join along, you are asked to that are inspired by a favourite song, or that incorporate musical lyrics, sheet music, or musical signs and symbols in their design.

I created a shabby style card featuring sheet music along with a stamped sentiment that reminds me of Bill Withers song: "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone":
For sketch inspiration, I'm joining along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Please be sure to visit the A Vintage Journey blog to see ALL the fantastic projects that the talented DT has created as well as a step by step tutorial that I share on how I created my project!

happy... 37

Mona Pendleton | Friday, November 15, 2013 @ 2:53 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! Happy the weekend is here! I'm very excited to be joining along with the creative and super talented DT at Scrap Africa! Yahooooo! The team always provides amazing samples of inspiration and I enjoy joining along with their challenges whenever time permits! For the current challenge, the ladies at Scrap Africa are asking us to create a layout based on the pretty inspiration photo shown below while keeping in mind the the theme ~ "White with a pinch of" - 90% white project with 10% colours!
In all honesty, white space scares my crafty self! ;0 LOL I was trembling over the thought of creating a layout with only using 10% colour but once I faced my fears and started looking at my supplies for inspiration, my layout came together rather smoothly and I'm delighted with the outcome :)

For my sample, I scrapped a layout featuring a photo of Connor that was taken while on a ski trip years ago.
I started with a pretty piece of 13 arts patterned paper, gave it a white wash coat of acrylic paint then added texture and design using the Petal Circles Stencil.
All the snowflakes were die cut using Simon Says Stamp Fun Flakes Snowflakes dies and pretty 13 arts patterned paper.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Memuaris.blogspot.com
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Scrap Africa blog for some fab inspiration and for complete details on how you can join along too!

Love...Guest Designing for Little Yellow Bicycle 24

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 19, 2013 @ 10:55 PM | , ,

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Today I have a layout to share as part of my guest designing opportunity with Little Yellow Bicycle. You can read all about in the original post (click HERE).
I made a layout featuring the pretty Vintage Summer collection.
The Vintage Summer collection contains so many beautiful embellishment packs that make it so easy to decorate your projects. I combined various pieces to create eye catching layered pieces.
The fabric stickers coordinate so well with the Burlap Stickers.
The Paper Crafting Kit contains an abundance of pieces that make it is rather quick and easy to create beautiful flowers and fan fold embellishments. A real time saver!
Thanks so much for visiting! Please feel free to visit the Little Yellow Bicycle blog for more info and inspiration!

Enjoy Life...Guest Designing for Little Yellow Bicycle 39

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 12, 2013 @ 7:00 PM | , ,

Happy Saturday! Hope you are all having a great weekend! Today I have a card to share as part of my guest designing opportunity with Little Yellow Bicycle. You can read all about in the original post (click HERE).

I made a card featuring the Vintage Summer collection which has a sweet country charm.
I pieced and layered various pretty patterned papers together including the Patchwork Quilt piece which just screams homespun to me! I layered a fun fan fold embellishment from the Paper Crafting Kit, which was rather quick and simple to create, added a pretty Burlap butterfly embellishment and topped it off with a sweet Wood Button. The canvas sentiment sticker completed my card.
Thanks so much for visiting! Please feel free to visit the Little Yellow Bicycle blog for more info and inspiration!

***I have two posts today ~ if you are looking for my MFT July Teasers Day 3 post, please click HERE but while you are here, please take a moment to look around :) Thank you***

Hi there! I'm so very thrilled to finally spill the beans that Liz Qualman, the DT Coordinator for Little Yellow Bicycle has graciously invited me to Guest Design for Little Yellow Bicycle! Yahoo!! I'm so excited and looking forward to the wonderful opportunity to share with you what I have created featuring the beautiful Vintage Summer collection over the next 4 weeks! Please feel free to visit the Little Yellow Bicycle blog for more info and inspiration!

Today I would like to share with you a layout I made featuring a photo of Connor and Meredith that was taken about 10 years ago.
I layered various pretty patterned papers to create the background using my sewing machine to add stitched detail. I love multi~layered textured embellishments so I combined pretty pieces from the Paper Crafting Kit with fabric pieces from the Fabric Favorites pack, canvas flowers from the Burlap Shapes – Flowers pack along with fancy wooden buttons from the Wood Buttons – Etched pack.
Love the combination of fabric and burlap:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you check out the Little Yellow Bicycle blog for more info and inspiration.
