with love...WMSC8 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, July 31, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hi There! This week flew by as I thought it would and it's time again for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Here is my with love card:

One of my favorite colors is Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist. I love the look of the muted aqua flowers made using a flower die template from the S4-109 Flower Creations Three set but they seem to get lost or blend in on the tan background, so I stamped black flourishes using various stamps from the Very Vintage Labels No. 10 set. I think this helps give them a lift & a bit of dimension. What do you think?

I had so much fun with this sketch - mixing the circular shapes up a bit - making a few flowers, stamping a few images & using a few larger brads.

To make the lil' tag in the photo below, I inked up the with love stamp from the Victorian Fripperie set & stamped it on a lil' tag cut using the S4-081 Tags Five die template.

I hope you can join along with this week's sketch challenge. After you have made your project, please head on over to The Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site & link your post. If you post your creations in an on-line gallery, please label it WMSC8 so we won't miss them! Be sure to see what the Waltzingmouse DT girls have created, (listed on my side bar). I hope you come join the fun this week & play along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for complete details.

That's all I have for today! Thanks for looking - Be Sweet!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Blog Waltz 102

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, July 27, 2010 @ 11:00 AM | ,

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Blog Waltz! I hope you have been inspired with all the Spooky treats that Claire, myself & the Waltzingmouse DT girls have been sharing over the past 3 days showcasing the Waltzingmouse Stamps: Wanda's Pantry & Midnight Feast sets?! BOTH of these sets are available TODAY at the Waltzingmouse Stamps store! If you arrived here from Lynn's site, then you are right where you should be! If not, please hop back over to Claire's site where the celebration began!

A few minor details: As with all of Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team Blog Waltzes, you have the opportunity to win a stamp set of your choice. Claire will choose from among all the comments left on all the Design Team blogs one lucky winner of the stamp set of their choice. The other winner will be chosen from comments left on her blog. You need not comment on all the Design Team’s blogs to win, but the more you comment, the better your odds. You have until 11:59 pm EASTERN TIME on Thursday, July 29th to leave your comments. The winners will be announced on the WMS blog on Friday, July 30th. Good Luck!

I shabbied up an empty plastic pail & filled it with some yummy white chocolate covered mini pretzels! So many of Claire's stamps have such an elegant Vintage vibe to them including the Wanda's Pantry & Midnight Feast sets - not your ordinary Halloween stamps! Notice the skull & crossbones embellishment on the pretzel bag tag? I made that using a die template from the Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® S4-279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes set. TODAY at CHA the entire NEW release will be revealed so be sure to visit the Spellbinders Paper Arts blog to catch all the exciting news!!! I showcased the From my Kitchen image & a mini Wanda image right smack in the center of the pail! After inking up & stamping both of these images, using a S4-112 Classic Ovals SM die template, I cut/embossed them then layered on top of a piece of cs cut using a S4-110 Classic Ovals LG die template. The fancy label was stamped with an image from the Very Vintage Labels No. 2 that coordinates with a S4-162 Labels Two die template - making an elegant label! In the photo below, you can get an up close & personal view of the detailed Gothic style door stamp from the Midnight Feast set. After heat embossing with fine silver embossing powder, I cut it out & embellished with a lil' flower embellie made using S4-109 Flower Creations Three die templates.

The To: & From: stamp is the perfect size for the oval tag cut from the S4-081 Tags Five die template.

To continue with the Waltz, please visit Lisa's blog to see what she has to share with you!

Thanks for looking! I hope to be back later today to share some photos from CHA :) Be Sweet!

Tantalizing Tags & Treats...Waltzingmouse Stamps Day 3 Sneak Peeks 48

Mona Pendleton | Monday, July 26, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hi There! Can you believe it is Day 3 already of the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Sneak Peeks? Today, I have some treat tags to share all made using the Waltzingmouse Stamps: Midnight Feast set. Remember: BOTH the Midnight Feast & Wanda's Pantry sets will be available for purchase Tuesday, July 27th! (click any photo to enlarge)
I am lovin' creating with non-traditional Halloween colors so I thought I would carry on & make some tags for these bags of treats :) My hubby has a SWEET tooth like no other so our house is always stocked with candy! Hot Tomales (in the photo below) are his faves! He was getting all nervous & jerky just waiting for me to finish photographing them! Seriously!!!All of these tags have the same basic layout but each are unique & a little different than the one before! The Midnight Feast set contains so many images, I get a little excited when creating - I just want you to see them all! Using the Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities™ S4-081 Labels Five die template, with just one swipe through The Wizard™ I had 5 lil' tags!!! Yep - 1 Die template = 5 different tags!

Like I have been saying since Release Day 1, there are so many fun images to mix & match, the possibilities are never ending!!! Each lil' sentiment tag has 2 different stamps, each has a different main sentiment & there are still a variety in the set to create more with! I inked up & stamped an image from the Very Vintage Labels No. 3 set which coordinates with Spellbinders™ Nestabilities S4-189 Labels Three die templates perfectly.

That's all I have for today but I know you can find more Spooktacular inspiration by visiting Claire, Lisa, Julia, Lynn, Anya, Belinda, Jennifer & Laurie blogs! I am sure their creations will get you in the Halloween mood!

I will be waltzing along with Claire & the Waltzingmouse Design Team on Tuesday, July 27th at 2:00 PM EST sharing another project featuring: Midnight Feast & Wanda's Pantry stamp sets kicking off the official Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release - Surely something you won't want to miss!!!

By the way: I have been so busy creating, I forgot to mention that I will be heading to Chicago today to attend CHA :) Yipeeeee!!!! I am dragging my hubby, Scott :) I have accompanied him to the yearly week long Mac World Convention over the past 10 years so he owes me a few! LOL So if any of you will be there, I would love to meet you. Please feel free to send me an email so we can make it happen & if you are not going, I will try to share daily pics of all the goodies I spy!

Thanks for looking :) Be Sweet!

An Apple A Day...Waltzingmouse Stamps Day 2 Peeks 49

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, July 25, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the sweet comments on my Big Spooky News! I still can't believe Claire invited me to play on her Waltzingmouse Stamps DT team along with all the inspiring DT girls :) It is true so here I am today to share some more Peeks of treats I made using the Waltzingmouse Stamps: Midnight Feast set which will be available for purchase at the Waltzingmouse Stamps on-line store Tuesday, July 27th.

When I first set eyes on the caramel apples & toffee apples stamps, I immediately knew what I wanted to create with them! I love giving home-spun, inexpensive gifts to my co-workers & they love being on the receiving end :) BOTH Waltzingmouse Stamps: Midnight Feast & Wanda's Pantry suits my fancy because these sets contain so many images that can easily be mixed & matched allowing endless opportunities!

This lil' project is super easy & oh so sweet :) LOL The CARAMEL apples tagged jar contains a thick layer of caramel sauce & 1/2 EACH of a large Granny Smith & Red Delicious apple chunks on top.

The toffee apples jar contains a layer of thick caramel sauce, one HEATH candy bar chopped to bits & 1/2 Each of a large Granny Smith & Red Delicious apple chunks on top.

Here are a few pics & details sharing how I made my projects today:

After stamping the CARAMEL apples & toffee images, I inked up one of the many stamps from the Very Vintage Labels No. 5 set (which happens to be the very first Waltzingmouse Stamps set I purchased many moons ago!), centered & adhered a Spellbinders™ S4-229 Labels Five die template in position, then ran it through The Wizard™.

Up close you can get a better look at Wanda riding her broom!

One of the Spellbinders™ S4-114 Standard Circles LG die templates fits wonderfully right around Wanda!

To make the fabric jar topper in the pic below, I began with cutting a circular piece of muslin fabric, frayed the edges then stamped a little border using various lil' bats, moons & star stamps from Midnight Feast.

I always have to make a little extra for my honey & I to share ;)

So are you getting in the mood for Halloween yet??? For some more eye-candy, please be sure to see what Claire, Julia, Lynn, Anya, Bonnie, Jennifer & Belinda have created to get you inspired!!!

Thanks for looking! I will be back tomorrow to share some more Sneak Peeks :) Be Sweet!

BIG Spooky News & a Sneak Peek!!!! 87

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, July 24, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi Everyone! I have been waiting to share some exciting news with all of you! Claire Brennan, the Owner/Designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps has invited me to join her & her awesome DT :) I am so incredibly excited & honored - I just can't believe it! Thank you so very much Claire! Have you all seen the NEW Oh so pretty Waltzingmouse Store or the Gallery? Yep, Claire opened up a Gallery where all of us can share our Waltzingmouse creations! How fun is that?

With that being said, I am here to share the first day of three August sneak peeks: WARNING: this post contains some not so ordinary spooktacular goodies!Mixing things up a bit with non-traditional Halloween colors, I made a few cards showcasing only a few of the many fabulous images from the Waltzingmouse Stamps: Midnight's Feast & Wanda's Pantry sets.So many of Claire's images fit flawlessly with various Spellbinders™ die templates making it super easy to get a precise cut/embossed edge every time! The square shaped sentiments on all these cards were cut using a S4-126 Classic Squares LG die template & mounted on double layered frames cut using the NEW S4-291 Labels Fifteen. Don't you just love those labels??? The tags were cut using one of the following die templates: S4-139 Petite Scalloped Oval LG, S4-141 Petite Scalloped Oval SM, S4-140 Petite Oval SM, S4-130 Petite Oval LG.

Every Saturday there is a Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! If you love a challenge like me, then come join along :)
I had so much fun mixing & matching all the images from the Midnight's Feast & Wanda's Pantry sets & the sketch fit so I made several cards each a lil' different! The card below has a darling Be-witching tag clipped in place:

I don't know if you can tell, but if you click to enlarge the photos, you should be able to really see the funky aged, shimmery, crackled effect on each of the square cut images. I brushed on Ranger Rock Candy, set aside to allow it to work its magic!

Do you recognize the distressed metal skull & crossbones embellishment from the soon to be released Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® S4-279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes die template set? You may recall seeing samples created & shared the other night during the Spellbinders™ Blog Frenzy.

Here's one last up close & personal look :)

Please be sure to hop on over to see all the spooky goodness that Claire (Owner), Lisa, Julia, Lynn, Anya, Bonnie, Jennifer & Laurie have created surely to get you inspired :) That's all for today - I will be back tomorrow with some more Sneak Peeks! Thanks for looking!

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments on my Spellbinders Blog Frenzy projects :) What did you think about the Frenzy? Some amazing new die templates that will be hitting the shelves soon! Can't wait until after CHA next week when the entire line-up will be revealed! What was your fave - the die template that you MUST have & can't live without?

It's quite HOT here in the desert - temps over 100 degrees daily so I thought I would chill out, even if it is my mind & play with the new Spellbinders™ S4-286 Snowflake Pendants die templates. Be sure to check out her amazing projects - you will surely be inspired! Here is my warm winter wishes card:

For sketch inspiration, I joined in the fun & played along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #6, WMSC6

For a little shimmer & glimmer on the snowflakes, I sprinkled some glitter from Sprinkle & Sparkle all over them making them look like a girls best friend ;)

For added dimension, I cut the lil' guy out & popped him up using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives. If you are like me & LOVE to stitch on your projects OR if you like the stitched look but don't want to mess with your sewing machine, then you will surely appreciate the intricate faux stitching on the darling images in this set :)

I’m thrilled to share S4-289 Wonky Squares with you. I created a layout of my dogs all dressed up for a night of Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood :)
I started by using the S4-289 Wonky Squares die template to cut both the white and black mats to mount the photos on.
Using the S4-289 Wonky Squares die template to cut the photos, I recommend first positioning and adhering the die template in place, cut side down then form cutting sandwich as follows: 1. Master Mat 2. Magnetic Spacer Plate 3. Die template (cut side up) 4. Photo facing down 5. Master Mat.
After cutting, emboss photo using the following sandwich: 1. Master Mat 2. Die template (cut side up) 3. Photo 4. Tan Embossing Pad 5. Master Mat.
Feel free to click photo below to enlarge and see the embossed edges.
To make a S4-289 Wonky Squares embellishment, use a S4-289 Wonky Squares die template and cut a piece of patterned paper. Rub ink around edges then ink up a Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens stencil with Black Clearsnap Ink.
Place stencil where desired pressing firmly to apply ink.
To create the distressed metallic looking S4-279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes, follow the previous mentioned cutting and embossing instructions using Royal & Langnickel: Silver Foil Engraving Art Blank Boards. To expose the underlying silver metal, use a fine sanding block to gently sand any unwanted black area. All you need are small dabs of Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry glue to secure the Graveyard scene in place and a few 3L SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES Black 3D Foam squares to adhere the other shapes in place.
For a little extra, I stitched and distressed the S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand as well as the other photos on the layout.
In the photo below, you will see all the die cuts I have used to create this layout.
Supplies: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-289 Wonky Squares, Shapeabilities® S4-279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes, Borderabilities® S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand, Nestabilities S4-114 Standard Circles LG, S4-116 Standard Circles SM
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye: The Spider's Web, "Pumpkin Patch", "Witch's Lace", "Trick or Treat", Pink Paislee: Twilight Collections/Eclipse
Cardstock: Worldwin Papers: Canvas & Black
Adhesive: Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry glue, 3L SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES 3D foam squares
Stamps:
Pink Paislee: Twilight Collection
Ink: Clearsnap Black Colorbox Classic

Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens Garden Blossom Misting Tools Stencils, Royal & Lang Nickel: Silver Foil Engraving Art Blank Boards

There are so many various ways in which to use the Spellbinders™ S4-289 Wonky Squares die templates. I decorated an empty plastic box placing the S4-289 Wonky Squares with a slight rotation creating motion on the box front :)
