CR84FN57 Week 2 39

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 30, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | ,

Hi there! It's week two of the CR84FN57 Color Challenge! We are still enjoying all the beautiful entries filling the gallery so please keep them coming!
I made a card for my sweet boss / GF to let her know how much I appreciate her. She's always so thoughtful and mindful of not only mine but all the staff's needs. Being the boss of a surgery department is no easy task! It requires some very fancy ego stroking skillz in order to keep all those surgeons happy! Without surgeons, both her and I wouldn't have our jobs that we love so much :) I'm very grateful there is someone like her who does that job so well because I know I surely couldn't!
I used a combination of My Favorite Things / Die-namics to create this card. The fun fan fold embellishment that the rose is perched on was created using several dies from the Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die & Stamp Set in combination with Die-namics 3/8" Rosette and the beautiful bloom was made using Die-namics Rolled Rose Die and Die-namics Royal Leaves.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Camp sketch challenge #78:

My ISLAND dream...WMS July Previews Day 3 54

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:00 AM | , , , , , , ,

Hello! Welcome to day 3 of the July Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today we are focusing on the My Island stamp set that will be for sale on Sunday, July 1st in the Waltzingmouse Stamps on-line store.

If you had a chance to see my post yesterday, you already know that we are beach lovin' family :) Today, I have a layout to share that features a photo of sweet Meredith that was taken several years ago while we were on vacation on Maui. The My Island set is full of so many fun images, I couldn't help myself and stamped away!

To create the two tags, I stamped many images from My Island on tags that were cut using the Die-namics Tag, You're It die.
For the title, I stamped then heat embossed a label from Very Vintage Labels No.25 cut using a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five die then stamped the beautiful sentiment from My Island.
The little tag shown below was also made using a combination of stamps from both Very Vintage Labels No.25 and My Island as well.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the Creative Scrappers challenge:

North Shore...WMS July Previews Day 2 67

Mona Pendleton | Friday, June 29, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 2 of the June Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today, we are sharing projects focused on the North Shore stamp set that will be released on Sunday, July 1st in the Waltzingmouse Stamps on line store.

We are a beach lovin' family so this stamp set as well as the My Island stamp set (which will be revealed tomorrow) is right up my alley! I scrapped a layout featuring a photo of Connor that was taken on the beach last summer while on vacation in Kauai. I incorporated many techniques that I learned from taking Stacey Young's class that can be found at Miss Art's Papercrafting School.

To create the tag shown below, I stamped the NORTH SHORE image using VersaMark ink, on a tag made using a Sizzix die, embossed using white embossing powder then stamped the decorative flourishes and sentiment. I added a little bottle embellishment that I filled with sand :)
The SUMMER starts here sentiment is from the My Island stamp set (which will be revealed tomorrow) ~ makes for the perfect title for this layout!

Wishing You...WMS July Previews Day 1 49

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, June 28, 2012 @ 12:00 AM | ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 1 of the July Waltzingmouse Stamps previews! Over the next 4 days, Claire, Owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps will be releasing 4 new stamp sets. Today, Claire, several DT members and myself are sharing samples made focusing on the darling Heroines - Fairy Princess stamp set.
I stamped the sweet little princess image twice from the Fairy Princess stamp set ~ once on a piece of white card stock and once on piece of patterned paper. Using a Spellbinders circles LG die I cut the entire image then fussy cut the dress and bow, colored with Copics, added a bit of shimmery Stickles to her tiara, magic wand and wings. The sentiment is from Spring Baskets.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with Pals Paper Arts:

Believe, Wish, Dream...FTTC175 47

Mona Pendleton | Monday, June 25, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , , ,

Hello! It's time for a brand spankin' new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! In case you missed the post on the Flourishes blog, there are lots of changes going on! click HERE for complete details. Included with those changes are as follows: we are saying farewell to both Silke and Beate and we are welcoming both Denise Marzec and Allison Cope!

This week, Silke is our lovely hostess and she is challenging us to create using our *FAVORITES* ~ Use your favorite Spellbinder Die with your favorite Flourishes Stamp Set and add your favorite embellishments!!! I took it one step further and used some of my favorite Pink Paislee patterned paper from the London Market collection.
This challenge was REALLY tough for me because Flourishes has sooooo many awesome stamp sets, to narrow it down to one is nearly impossible! I wanted to create a mixed media canvas so I opted to use a few of my favorite sentiments from the Flourishes Pears stamp set (one of my faves).
I stamped the "Never Lose..." sentiment on a piece of Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock, cut using a die from Spellbinders Grommet Tags (one of my faves)
I enjoy creating my own flowers so I pulled out a Spellbinders Bitty Blossom die (another of my faves) and did just that!
I used a bird cage and bird die from the Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary set (another fave) to create a few embellishments. It is hanging from a branch that was cut using a die from Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements (yep, another fave :)
I hope you ink up your stamps, especially ones from Flourishes and join in the fun! Please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for complete details and for some fabulous inspiration visit our June Guest Designer: Alice Wertz and the entire DT: Heather, Silke, Makiko, Cindy, Beate, Amanda, Denise and Allison!post signature

Thank You... 40

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:35 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are off to a great start of a new week! We have been having issues with 2 out of 3 air conditioning units so we are biting the $$$ bullet and we are having them replaced today. sigh... Due to the extreme hot temps outdoors that we are experiencing, it will become a bit toasty while the units are being replaced. For me, that means I have to vacate my studio (aka: kitchen :) because it will simply be too hot and uncomfortable to play. I usually get ahead with my projects when I have a day off from work but these circumstances have thrown a curve ball right in the miidsts of mailine into my plans. (hate when that happens! stomp, stomp).

Enough whining and on to my crafty share. I made this Thank You card for dear April thanking her for helping take care of my fur babies last week while I was away.
I combined a variety of  Waltzingmouse Stamps and the fun patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Declaration collection. Don't be fooled by its name and color sheme! The
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the paper players Sketch Challenge:
In case you haven't received your downloadable Pink Paislee Declaration Collection Booklet, please feel free to click HERE for the FREE download that is full of some awesome inspiration!

You Blow Me Away...CR84FN57 51

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 23, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , ,

Hello there! Welcome to a new CR84FN Color Challenge! Thanks to all who took on the CR84FN56 Color Challenge ~ there were so many beautiful projects in the gallery! Before we get to CR84FN57, we are saying so long to both Suzanne and Lisa. I would like to thank them for sharing their creative talents with CR84FN over the last 16 months. We have all met in real life and I know our crafty paths will cross again one day soon :)

For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below.
I made this cheerful, uplifting, over sized card for my sweet sister Tina using a combination of products from My Favorite Things / Die-namics.
I'm embarrassed to admit that the sweet pinwheel and sentiment from Die-namics Perfect Pinwheel and Stamp Set are from the very first die/stamp combination set that I purchased from My Favorite Things nearly a year ago and this is the first time I put them to good use. YIKES!!!
The mini rolled rose and leaves were made using Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses and Die-namics Royal Leaves.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge:

The theme of the feature was to create 6 Birthday cards, 2 Easy, 2 Intermediate, 2 Advanced using Green, Purple and Turquoise while incorporating Stenciling as the technique.
I combined fun patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, dies from Spellbinders and stamps from Waltzingmouse and Donna Salazar.
Thanks so much for sharing in my excitement :) Hope you enjoyed my cards! Have an amazing weekend!
