twinkle 29

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 21, 2014 @ 4:17 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! I've been struggling to get my crafty MOJO going. I've grown tired of making holiday cards for now. I have managed to hoard various paints, inks, textures pastes, etc..., all waiting to be used so I opted to create a layout. The 12 x 12 space allows so much more room to be creative than the standard A2 size card.
I joined along with the current 7 Dots Studio challenge where the theme is The Holiday spirit
I scrapped a layout of my sweet dog Griffin all dressed up in his Santa outfit. If that doesn't demonstrate holiday spirit ~ then I'm not sure what does.

I used a variety of beautiful papers from the 7 Dots Studio Cold Country and Thoughts Keeper collections:
I added lots of ink and texture using the Tattered Lace stencil which was designed by my sweet blogging friend Kasia:
The title was die cut using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Creative Scrappers sketch challenge and I'm also linking to the Artist Trading Post challenge where the theme is Let's Celebrate (we're celebrating the holiday spirit in my home :)
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!
Be Sweet ;)

Let it Snow... 35

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, November 12, 2014 @ 5:17 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great week. Today I have a layout to share featuring pretty patterned papers from the versatile Pion Design My Beloved Son collection.

I scrapped a photo of Connor and Meredith that was taken several years ago while we were vacationing on a ski trip somewhere in the US :)
For the background I chose to use a more solid sheet of paper named "Images ~ back" because this left an open blank canvas allowing me to randomly stamp and emboss snowflakes as well as adding texture using a stencil.
I embellished with a couple of die cut snowflakes and flowers from my stash:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Let's Get Sketchy sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day / evening.
Be Sweet ;)

Pion Design papers used:
My Beloved Son ~ Albin's zeppelins ~ PD5505 front
My Beloved Son ~ Martin's train ~ PD5507 front
My Beloved Son ~ Bluebell ~ PD5508 back
My Beloved Son ~ Images ~ PD5511 back
My Beloved Son ~ Tags ~ PD5512 back

Dream everyday...Guest Designing 22

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, October 22, 2014 @ 9:00 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! Today I have the honor of being a guest designer for the talented Kasia Krzyminska on her blog. I am sharing a layout featuring one of the many beautiful stencils that she has designed: The Trapezoid Flower:

I scrapped a photo of sweet Meredith that was taken more than 14 years ago. Time sure does fly! I created lots of texture using  The Trapezoid Flower stencil along with molding paste:
Once the molding paste was dry, I added color using various paints and inks. I added a bit more detail using fun stamps from Kasia's Stamp Set 3:
I embellished with die cuts, flowers from my stash and a resin birdcage:
The title is a combination of a chipboard piece from my stash and a stamp from Kasia's Stamp Set 3:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Stuck?! sketch challenge:
Kasia's products used:
 The Trapezoid Flower Stencil
Kasia's Stamp Set 3
Many thanks for stopping by! If you have a chance, please be sure to stop by Kasia's blog for more details regarding my guest designing and for some amazing inspiration from Kasia!

IMAGINE... 29

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 17, 2014 @ 10:38 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great one! I have the day off from work so before heading out the door to the gym, I sat down to complete a project I have been working on:

I started by painting my girls face on a piece of watercolor paper. Before giving her a hair do, I trimmed around her neck and head so then I could adhere her to a 12 x 12 layout:
The background was a naked 12 x 12 piece of watercolor paper when I started! I applied a variety of paints using a squeegee, sponge and the following three stencils which were given to me and were designed by the talented Kasia from Poland for The Crafter's Workshop: TCW495 Sea Bubbles, TCW493 Folk Art Flower and TCW 491 XOX:
I also randomly stamped fun images from a couple of stamp sets also designed by Kasia:
I joined along with the the CSI 143 challenge and the scrapki-wyzwaniowo October challenge where the theme is: In my head.

Here's how I solved the case:

The Scheme: I used all 5 colors
The Evidence (at least 2): mixed media, collage, birdcage, pen work, flowers, leaves, circles, butterflies and I cut out my girl's head

The Testimony: I documented something on my min and I handwrote my story directly on my layout
The Sketch: followed

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy girls...CR84FN70 48

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, January 12, 2013 @ 9:55 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge. First I would to thank Lisa Snowdy, our January Guest Designer, for sharing her creativity with us and thanks to all the crafters who joined along with us for CR8FN69!

***NOTE*** We will be going on Spring Break after CR84FN70 and returning on MARCH 24th with CR84FN71***

For nearly the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below. Photos courtesy of kategrewal.com.
For my sample, I made this rather clean and simple layout featuring photos of Meredith when she was about 3 years old (12 years ago). I stamped one of the beautiful sentiments from MFT Clearly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn on a die cut strip made using a Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX die. The textured patterned background was made use texture paste along with The Crafter's Workshop 6" x 6" Mini Chevron template. Once the paste was dry, I sprayed with yellow mist.
Shown below is a die cut butterfly made using Die-namics Inspired By Butterflies die that I added a bit of color and a rolled rose made using a die from Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Skissedilla sketch challenge:
Thank you for looking! For some beautiful inspiration from Lisa and several members from the CR84FN DT, please see the CR84FN blog.
Be Sweet ;)
