Friends of WMS Blog Waltz-Autumn/Fall 73

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, October 17, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi There! Here today for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. Claire is challenging us all to create an Autumn/Fall themed project. One of the many things I love about the Autumn/Fall is sipping a piping hot mug of mulled spiced hot Apple cider on a crisp evening while snuggling up with my hubby :) Not only does the cider taste yummy & warm the cockles of my heart, the scent from the simmering spices lingers throughout my home. All the details are in the Waltzingmouse Forum (Playroom:Blog Waltzes), where you'll also find all the links for the waltz.

I filled a gift box with a few of my favorite findings used to make mulled spiced hot Apple cider & adorned the tin of mulling spices & cinnamon sticks with a tag to fancy things up a bit.

I mixed & matched several Waltzingmouse Stamps and Spellbinders™ die templates to create this gift ensemble. Each lil' tag was made by first making the apple embellishments (instructions below). Once the apples were made, I adhered them to a square that was stamped with an image from Text-It then using a S4-128 Classic Squares SM die template to cut/emboss a square piece which was then adhered on top of a paper doily made using a S4-295 Lacey Squares die template.
The darling tag was created by first stamping the Fall BLESSINGS sentiment from Peace and Plenty  followed by stamping a frame from Very Vintage Labels No. 5  around the sentiment then using a S4-229 Labels Five die/template to cut/emboss the tag.
Shown in the photo below are the items I used to create the apple embellishments. Here are the steps: First, stamp polka a dot background image from Off Beat Backgrounds then using the apple shaped die template from S4-266 Assorted Fresh Fruit to cut/emboss the apple. Ink edges and color stem using a Copic marker then stitch a lil' hand cut felt leaf in place. There you have it! So many various ways to use Claire's stamps!
I hope you enjoyed my Autumn/Fall themed project. Would love to know what you think about the apples? Would you be interested in seeing how I create some embellishments featuring BERRIES?

Thanks so much for stopping by today :) Off to Waltz along to see all the amazing Autumn/Fall themed projects featuring Waltzingmouse Stamps.
Supplies Used:

I would enjoy knowing how you do anything Mona! Apples are amongst my faves, and thanks to my chiropractor, who has me on whole food supplements, I am once again able to eat them. You are singing to my autumn/fall heart here, girlfriend. I'm feeling especially cozy and happy today because it's cool and rainy. If only it would last for more than a few days.

Anyway, feel free to give me that wonderful gift if no one else wants it! LOL I've got to find one of those apple diffusers... too cute!

And, of course, your card is beyond gorgeous. I wish I were one-tenth the artist you are.

Hugs,
Lisa
