Snow Boy Friend 35

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day :) I had some free time to play with my crafty toys so I made this card. Sarah a t Live, Love & Scrap shared this super cute card, Sparklie Snowgirl Card & that is where I fell in love with these Snow Friends! I combined several challenges to make this card. In no particular order: For Sketch Inspiration, Splitcoast Stampers #258, SC258, For Color Inspiration, Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Snowflakes and at Crazy 4 Challenges, the girls are challenging us to use SNOW on our creation this week, C4C15. Here is my Snow Boy Friend card:


I inked up a PTI Snow Swirls Snowflake image with VersaMark, stamped on the SU Chocolate Chip cs, then heat embossed using White Filigree embossing powder. I ran the PTI Lemon Tart cs through the Sizzix Big Shot Express using the Cuttlebug Snowflake EF for a little texture.I made my Snow Boy Friend using the Cricut Snow Friends cartridge. I cut my little guy 3" tall. I stamped his mittens & hat with SU Chocolate Chip ink applied to a PTI Bitty Dots Basics polk a dot image & added a bit of Ranger Antique Photo ink. The rim around his hat has some Martha Stewart flock on it but I wish I knew how to make it thicker! If anyone has suggestions, I would love to know your secret!!!

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge...JUGS11 38

Hi Ladies! Thanks so much for all of you who were able to play along with Pam's sketch challenge last week! It is really fun to see what so many do differently with the same sketch, technique or color combo. This week, Kristin is our darling Hostess who chose the Chalkboard Technique for us all to play with! Here is my card using this super fun technique:I have to admit, I have never tried the Chalkboard Technique before making this card. Now, it has become one of my favorite techniques! Thank you Kristin :) Beate over at Splitcoaststampers offers a wonderful, easy to follow tutorial. I inked up the PTI polk a dot tea pot image from the Tea for Two set with SU Craft white ink, then sponged on first a light blue chalk, then followed with a teal color. After cutting out the stamped & chalked image, I sprayed it with a light mist of hairspay to "set" the chalk so it wouldn't rub off. I am totally in love with the soft, vintage outcome with the chalkboard technique. I randomly stamped a few flower images with SU Brocade Blue ink on the BINGO DP. The teapot is sitting on a few layers: the first is a piece of K&Company DP that I cut out using an oval Spellbinder's die & the very bottom is a piece of PTI Kraft paper cut using a Spellbinder's Labels 4 die.

For color inspiration, I referred to Samantha's Beautiful Color Combo #27 from Scrapmaster's Paradise, SPCC27. Samantha hosts weekly color challenges for all of us papercrafters to play along with & the Design Team offers some beautiful samples for inspiration! There you have it! Santa Fur Babies 31

Hi Girls! It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas....I have been decorating & stored away in the ornament boxes were my fur babies Santa & Mrs. Claus's suits!!! :) I couldn't resist this "Kodak" moment!

I bought the gently used SU Block Party stamp set a few years ago at a rubber stamp show & this is the first time I actually used it :) I can't seem to put down the various Ranger distressing inks lately!

Season's Greetings 25

Hi Girls! Thank you for Scott's Happy Birthday wishes :) I am honored to be this week's Guest Designer at The Play Date Cafe & for the week of December 23rd. Here is my offering:
I combined The Play Date Cafe Creativity Challenge #8, PDCC08 with this week's iheart2stamp.com, SFYTT, fun sketch challenge.
I pulled out my brayer, inked it up with SU Pixie Pink ink & rolled it right on to my Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder! If you haven't tryed this technique, you really don't know what you are missing! You can create ANY color of embossed paper that your little heart desires!!! :)
For the ornament, I inked up an image from the PTI Vintage Ornament set with SU Pixie Pink then cut it out & set it aside. I inked up a decorative layer from the same set with VersaMark ink & embossed with silver embossing powder then cut it out. As a final touch, I used some tiny glue dots to adhere a few red Darice crystals.
