MFT October Teaser Time Day 1 74

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, October 9, 2012 @ 9:00 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to Day 1 of the MFT August Teaser Time! Today we are showcasing Lisa Johnson Designs Howdy and Lisa Johnson Designs Western Backgrounds. I fell in love with these stamp sets immediately because if you have been visiting my blog for awhile, you probably already know that we have a horse lovin' kinda gal in our home and her name is Meredith ;)

The Howdy stamp set is jam packed with a lot of fun versatile stamps that may be used when creating various projects. I opted to create a layout featuring many of the stamps along with the woodgrain board image from Western Backgrounds that you see peeking out from behind Meredith.
For the title, I combined several images from Howdy and stamped them on one of the fun dies from Die-namics Howdy Frames then hung it on a pretty motif that was made using one of the two Die-namics Framing Flourishes. I added a sweet little flower embellishment that was made using Die-namics Flower Trio & Leaf Trio:
Shown below are a trio many sentiments from the Howdy stamp set. Two of which are stamped on die cuts made using Die-namics Howdy Frames. "WANTED" was stamped on a layered Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX die and layered on top of die cut made using Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX. The fun layered star border strip was made using Die-namics Western Star Border DUO:
I stamped the horse head image from the Howdy stamp set, cut using a Die-namics Circle STAX Set 1 die then layered it on top of a pretty die cut made using Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die. I surrounded the image with a few die cut flowers made using the new Die-namics Sunflower and a few blossoms made using Die-namics Flower Trio & Leaf Trio. Peeking out are flourishes made using both Die-namics Leafy Flourish and Die-namics Medium Leafy Flourish.
In case scrapping is not your thing and you fancy card making, I made one to share as well.
My card features a fun sentiment from the Howdy stamp set. I stamped the sentiment on a circular die cut piece of Blending Card by X-Press It that was cut using a Die-namics Circle Stax Set 1 die. I layered the Birthday sentiment on a banner die cut that was made using a Die-namics Jumbo Banner Day STAX die and topped it off with a few Kraft buttons.
I added a die cut border that was made using Die-namics Western Star Border DUO:
Shown below are the Die-namics included in the October release that I used on my project today:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed creating  them! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share for Day 2!

Hey, Pumpkin... 31

Mona Pendleton | @ 9:26 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great week! I have a card to share today using the sweet image from the MFT Pure Innocence Pumpkin Patch Girl stamp set. Admittedly, this card was quite the challenge for me because I couldn't find the right color combination. I gave the little girl three different outfits before settling on the one you see! Please tell me I am not alone? Does this ever happen to you??? I stamped the sentiment on a die cut made using the Die-namics Bracket Tab die:
After carefully cutting around the image, I adhered her to a piece of dry embossed Natural card stock and stitched on buttons for wagon wheels.
I completed the inside with another sweet sentiment from MFT Pure Innocence Pumpkin Patch Girl stamp set along with a pretty doily that was cut using a die from Die-namics Oval Open Scallop Doily DUO die set:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with retro sketches:
Thanks so much for visiting. I hope you have a great day/evening! I'll be back tonight at Midnight Eastern kicking off the MFT October Teaser Time ~ Hope to see you then!

A fancy witch hat... 46

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, October 7, 2012 @ 7:35 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I have a fancy witch hat to share with you today which may just be the last Halloween decoration I make until next year. If you were visiting me this time of year in 2011, you may recall this hat (HERE) that I made. Well, I gave that one to my sweet sister Tina who has shown it a good home and made one to decorate my home this year :)
Using Die-namics Large Royal Rose, I made several homemade blooms like the one shown below:
After covering the paper mache hat with tissue paper, I used Mod Podge to adhere a fun die cut spider web that was made using Die-namics Spider Web Die & Stamp Set. The glittered kissed die cut spider and stamped sentiment were made using the Die-namics Spider Web Die & Stamp Set as well. Peeking out from behind the flowers are a die cut fancy flourish that was made using Die-namics LARGE Fancy Flourish as well as a leafy flourish that was made using Die-namics Medium Leafy Flourish:
Along with the rose blooms, I made a tissue paper bloom using Die-namics Plentiful Petals:
For color inspiration, I joined along with The Play Date Cafe:
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great Monday!

Mark your calendar, I will be back Wednesday, October 9th Midnight Eastern with October MFT Teasers ;)

a Beautiful Day...CR84FN64 Week #2 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, October 6, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , , ,

Hello there dear blogging friends! Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm here with a card I made for the second week of the CR84FN64 Color Challenge. Thanks to all you have joined along thus far ~ so many pretty projects in the gallery!
I went quite clean and simple with this one and didn't even you any patterned paper! You don't see that very often here. I dry embossed the background using a pretty embossing folder from ProvoCraft.
I stamped a frame and sentiment from Die-namics Framed Greetings Die & Stamp Set on a coordinating frame die cut that was made from the same set and layered it on top of a die cut that was made using a die from Die-namics Polka Dot Greetings:
I finished off the card with a trio of felt flowers that were made using Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses and the following colors of MFT feltWhip CreamSno ConeBanana Split and the leaves were made using Die-namics Royal Leaves along with Sour Apple felt.
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the DT members for wonderful inspiration (listed on my side bar) and the CR84FN site for COMPLETE details.
Be Sweet :)
