MFT Celebrates World Card Making Day 2012! 37

Hi there! Everyone at My Favorite Things would like to wish you a Happy World Card Making Day! In case you are not familiar with World Card Making Day, it is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It was started by Paper Crafts Magazine and is a day for the card-making community - hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making.

Maybe your personal style includes coloring with markers, or possibly you enjoy some fresh and clean stamping. Maybe you simply like creating custom elements with our Die-namics dies. Whatever it is that you like to do, we only hope that you get a chance to create something special today!Don’t forget that we also offer an assortment of coordinating Replenishments including  cardstock, felt, buttons and ribbon.

Sketches are always a great starting point for a little cardmaking, and we have 92 weeks of sketches available as part of our ongoing Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. The first year of sketches is available here: MFT Sketches 1-52, and year (to date) is available here: MFT Sketches 53-92.

I made a Christmas card that features a combination of MFT stamps, cardstock, Die-namics dies and patterned paper from the Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection. I stamped the pretty snowflake pattern from DC Christmas Ornaments Stamp Set on a fun ornament / bauble that was die cut using a die from Die-namics Christmas Ornaments set. I thought the sentiment "Joy to the World" from Inspired by Christmas was fitting for WCMD ;)

Under the ornament is a die cut doily that was made using one of the four dies from Die-namics Mini Doily Circles. 

I finished off the inside as well with another beautiful sentiment from Inspired by Christmas.

Thank You 25

Hi there! So happy the weekend is nearly here ~ in my opinion Fall is the best time of the year here in Phoenix because I don't have to get up at 5:00 a.m. on the weekends to take a bike ride with Tina! The mercury doesn't rise up to the 90+ mark until after 10 a.m. or so therefore we don't have to hit the road until 7:00. Funny how something so simple can make me so happy  :)

Anyways, I made this Thank You card using a few of my favorite things ;) I combined a piece of pretty patterned paper from the Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection with a few MFT stamps and dies.

I stamped the sweet bird from Inspired By Spring on decorative die cut made using a die from Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die then layered it on top of a doily made using a die from Die-namics Open Scallop Doily DUO. I was inspired by the current Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Inspired By Spring...MFTWSC92 32

Hi there! It's Wednesday and that means it is time for an all new My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge! Thanks to all who joined along ~ so many terrific cards! For additional inspiration from participating DT members, please be sure to visit the MFT Blog.

Here's the fun sketch:

I recently expanded my MFT collection of stamps, including the beautiful Inspired By Spring which I used to create my card that I am sharing today. I simply stamped the image, added a splash of aqua blue then cut using a Die-namics Circle STAX Set 1 die. 

I finished it off with a homemade Sno Cone felt rolled rose that was die cut using the smaller of the two dies from Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses.

Because I Care... 44

Hi there! I'm here today to share a card I made for a very special cause ~ the 3rd Annual Hope You Can Cling To at Splitcoaststampers. For the ENTIRE month of October, there will be many challenges and each card made will be mailed to the UT MD Anderson Cancers Center. Please click HERE for complete details.

I chose to join along with my dear blogging friend Beate's challenge titled ~ Rays of Hope ~ which is to show that hope in your cards, create a project (or color an image) mostly in gray tones, but at one splash of color.
I made this fairly CAS (clean and simple) card combining a few of my favorite products. I used patterned paper from the soon to be released Pink Paislee City Sidewalks collection for the main background then layered an embossed piece of MFT Whip Cream cs on top.

I stamped and embossed the beautiful butterfly from MFT Inspired By Butterflies on a vellum die cut that was made using the coordinating die. I added a splash of pink by finishing off the butterfly with a rolled rose bud made using Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses:
