Stars & Stripes... 39

Mona Pendleton | Friday, May 25, 2012 @ 7:11 PM | , ,

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all who celebrate! Many thanks to all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives both past and present to protect the U.S.A. Do you have any fun plans? Scott and I are currently in San Diego for the long weekend. I taught my first card making class at Paper Tales today and met five lovely ladies who seemed to have as fun as I did :) I'm looking forward to meeting a few more ladies during tomorrow's class.

I made this card in celebration of Memorial Day using the newly released fun patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Declaration collection along with stamps from PTI that have never kissed an ink pad until now!
The Pink Paislee Declaration collection is a versatile collection full of a variety of patterns that may easily be used to create all sorts of themed projects!
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current MOJO Monday sketch challenge:
and for color inspiration, I played along with the current Play Date Cafe Color Challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a fun and safe weekend! Be Sweet :)

Thank you sew much...WMS May Blog Party 58

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, May 23, 2012 @ 9:00 PM | ,

Hi there! Welcome to the May Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party! This month's theme is to create a project using felt and cozy fabrics.
I made a heart shaped pillow using cozy, flannel fabric, (which by the way is slim pickins this time of year in the desert with temperatures soaring above 100 degrees), along with a few felt rolled roses.
The tag was made using a combination of stamps. The label is from Very Vintage Labels No. 4 that was cut using a Spellbinders Labels Fourhttp://spellbinderspaperarts.com/products/p-143-labels-four.aspx die and the sentiment is from Sewing Box - Hugs.
Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed creating it! Off to be inspired with all the other cozy fabric and felt projects! Be Sweet :)

Dies: Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms, Sizzix rolled rose die, MFT rolled rose die, Vagabond

beauty...guest designing 32

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:51 AM | , ,

Hello! Popping in to share one of the four layouts I made for my May Guest Designer position with My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. This layout features sweet Meredith and pretty Pink Paislee paper from the Spring Jubilee collection which is from the Main May kit.
I combined manufactured flowers that are included in the May Main kit along with various homemade flowers made with cardstock and punches. One of the requirements for creating the projects for My Creative Scrapbook, was to only use punches ~ dies were not permitted. So I hauled in a box of punches from the garage and went to town punching away!
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out My Creative Scrapbook for complete information. Be Sweet :)
