Butterfly Garden - More My Time Made Easy 24

Hi Everyone! I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful projects made by Lauren & all the My Time Made Easy Design Team girls :) BOTH Lauren & Kristin will be showcasing more projects today featuring the NEW My Time Made Easy products so please be sure to visit their blogs & see what amazing projects they have to offer! Today, I have some Butterfly embellishments to share with you that I made using the fabulous My Time Made Easy LLC © Pretty Impressions: All A Flutter & My Time Made Easy LLC © Pretty Pieces: Flutters & Flowers.

Here is my Butterfly Garden:
I love having embellishments on hand for that special card or tag that you need at the last minute! You can see how cute these little creatures are from this bird's eye view!
In the photo below, you can see step-by-step how I stamped these beauties :) I used 3 various stamps from the MTME © Pretty Impressions : All A Flutter set. First, I inked up the polka-dot solid image with SU Soft Sky & Groovy Guava ink then I stamped the outline image around each with SU Really Rust ink. Finishing up with the outline image inked with SU Chocolate Chip & a tad of Ranger Tim Holtz Vintage Photo around the edges.I hand cut each of the stamped Butterflies out with my super sharp scissors & set aside. Using the My Time Made Easy LLC © Pretty Pieces: Flutters file, I cut Butterflies with my Cricut Expressions 1.75" W x 1.79"H. This particular size worked great for my needs because I only wanted one layer but the beauty of these cut files are you can cut any size that suits your needs = TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE! For a little texture, I ran the butterflies through my Sizzix Big Shot Express & embossed them with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF.

The My Time Made Easy © All A Flutter template produces a beautiful bag that can be used for any occasion gift giving! REMEMBER: ALL MTME © Pretty Packaging may be cut using various personal electric cutting machines & are CUSTOMIZABLE to fit your gift giving needs! Using my Cricut Expressions, I first cut out the "base" of the MTME © All A Flutter template from a few pieces of SU Chocolate Chip cs & for the "wing prints", I used MTME © Pretty Printables Pink Dots digi paper that I had printed with my own printer! I love the size of these dots on this paper & can only hope that Lauren will make these available in ALL of my favorite colors! REMEMBER: ALL MTME © Pretty Printables is digital paper & is available IMMEDIATELY! To make the handle, I cut a piece of SU Chocolate Chip cs 1.25" W x 11" H & layered it with a strip of the MTME © Pink Dots measuring 1" W x 10.75" L, then attached the strips with a couple of brads to the Butterfly "body".As you all probably know by now, I can't keep my hands off of distressing ink! So I don't sound like a broken record, it is safe to assume or when in doubt, that I have sponged the edges of anything & everything for a soft/vintagey look :) All edges of the "wing prints" are distressed as well as the tag, butterfly & flower embellies.
To make this tag, I first stamped the curvy verse image from the MTME © All A Flutter Sentiments set using SU Chocolate Chip ink then placed the Spellbinders Labels 4 die over & ran it through my Sizzix BigShot Express. I made the cute butterfly embellie by first stamping a Butterfly image from the MTME © All A Flutter set on a piece of the printed MTME © Pretty Printables Butterfly Definitions Pink paper, cut it out & set it aside. Using the Cricut Expressions, I cut a Butterfly from the MTME © Butterfly Accents & embossed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF. I layered the two together, then attached a button with a piece of twine.
The MTME © All A Flutter template is so gorgeous as is however, I wanted to adorn it with a few pretty flowers. All of the flowers are multi-layered, crinkled, distressed, some even embossed for added texture. The centers of each & every flower has a layer cut from the MTME © Pretty Printables Butterfly Definition: Red Clay, Pink or Brown papers. What a super fun & easy way to add character to ANY embellishment!

The MTME © Shutt-erfly template makes a versatile & fun gift giving box. I cut my MTME © Shutt-erfly template from PTI Melon Berry cs, adhered it together then stitched on the gorgeous MTME © Pretty Printables Butterfly Stripes paper. I love this rich color combination!!!

I cut a BIG Butterfly using the MTME © Butterfly Accents from both Chocolate Chip paper & MTME © Pretty Printables Butterfly Definitions Pink paper. I added a flower embellie that includes a handmade crocheted flower courtesy of my dear sister Tina. From the flower embellie, I attached a tag with a sweet sentiment from the MTME © Pretty Impressions All A Flutter set.
From this side view, you can even get a better close up view of this sweet sentiment & beautiful paper!!!

On front panel, I adhered a flower embellie that is entirely made from the MTME © Pretty Printables Butterfly Definitions Pink paper!!! I love this paper collection - can you tell? I stamped a Butterfly image outline from the MTME © All A Flutter set on a piece of the MTME © Pretty Printables Pink Dot paper x 2, cut it out, layered it. I stitched a button in the center & gave it some antennae & adhered it to the multi - layered Spellbinders Scalloped Oval set.

Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge...JUGS14 30

Hi Girls! I hope you are all enjoying the first day of 2010! Now that the holidays are behind us, maybe we will all be able to find some "free-time" (LOL!) to create & play with our crafting products :) You may have noticed a new name along with her creation on the JUGS site? Well, that is Gabby & she has agreed to play along with us as our Featured Designer for the month of January :) What better way to start the New Year than with a Sketch challenge with Just Us Girls? This week, the Lovely Lisa is our Hostess for the Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge #14, JUGS14 & has dreamed up this amazing sketch for us all to play with!

Here is my card:

I made a trip to my local scrapbook store (LSS) this week & found this awesome Cosmo Cricket DP. It has a Western / Vintage look about it & made me think of one of my favorite SU sets, One of a Kind & the coordinating Boho Blossoms punch.

I cut those cute little hearts using Spellbinders Scalloped Heart & Heart dies. After inking up the edges of the Rose Red heart, I layered & adhered both heart sets on the card.

I inked up those various sized blossoms with SU Rose Red, More Mustard & Chocolate Chip ink & went to town, stamping away then punched out the 2 smaller punches with the Boho Blossoms punch. I hand cut out the larger blossom with my trusty little scissors :)

Happy New Year! 25

Hi Girls! I would like to thank all of you for hanging in there with me during 2009 & I hope you all continue to follow me along this papercrafting journey - who knows where 2010 will take us? :) Hopefully all of you had a great New Year's celebration & are enjoying the First day of 2010 - maybe getting some crafting time in :) We stayed at home simply relaxing & enjoying the fact that we had a loooong weekend away from work! What did you do? A friend of mine has the flu, so I made her a Get Well Gift set that included a Get Well card & a My Time Made Easy LLC © Cutesy Cover Printable Packaging template to hold a 1/2 dozen of tea bags.

Here is my Get Well Gift set:

You may remember a few weeks ago, Kristin at Just Us Girls challenged us to use the Chalkboard technique? Well, I fell in love with it and used that technique to make the Lavender teapot :) I inked up the PTI teapot image with SU Craft White ink then using a sponge dauber, I sponged on some lavender chalk. After cutting out the teapots, I put them off to the side & slightly sprayed hairspray over to help "sit" the chalk which prevents future smudging. If you haven't tried this technique, I really recommend you give it a shot! The result is really fabulous! It was difficult to catch the suede look that this technique produces in these photos. The PTI teapot image appears much more deep purple than it really is. It is more of a medium shade of lavender.
I found this awesome sketch on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. You should check out what all the DT girls have made for great samples of inspiration.I can't seem to stay away from the FREE MTME © Cutesy Cover template! This little bugger is so versatile & since it is available in various electrical cutting formats, I customized it to just the perfect size to hold 6 tea bags!
All the flower embellies were punched using various sizes of EK Success flower punches & are distressed a tad with Ranger Tim Holtz Antique photo ink, layered x 2 & crumpled to add a bit of character :) I stamped the center circle with the SU French Script stamp & sponged the edges.
