Old World Style 15

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, October 3, 2009 @ 9:04 PM | , , ,

Hi Girls! Did many of you take the World Card Making Blog Tour? If so, did it motivate & inspire you to get a jump start on your Holiday cards? While on Tour, I discovered a Brand Spankin' new Challenge. The name of it is called Just Us GirlS, :) If you are interested in further details regarding Just Us GirlS or would like to browse beautifully stamped creations, please feel free to visit Pam or Kristin. I was inspired by Kristin's fantastic sketch & Pam's creation to pull out my stamps & make this Old World Style Christmas card for the JUGS1 challenge. I'd love to hear if you have kicked-off your Holiday card making? Be Sweet!

Here is my Old World Style Christmas card:

I like using embossing folders to add a new dimension to otherwise "flat" paper like so using the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder with the Bazzill Pomegranate & the Swiss Dots with the SU Kraft & Chocolate Chip cs.

To give the SU Whisper White an Old World feel, using a sponge dauber, I sponged SU Sahara Sand ink around the edges of the oval images.

Ingredients Used: Stamps: Inkadinkado Christmas Season, PTI Peaceful Poinsettia Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, VersaMagic Paper: Fancy Pants Christmas Magic DP, PTI Aqua Mist, Bazzill Pomegranate, SU Whisper White, Kraft, Chocolate Chip Sprinkles: Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals & Oval nesties, SU embossing powder, generic brads, PTI ribbon, Cuttlebug Victoria & Swiss Dots embossing folders

Happy World Card Making Day! 24

Mona Pendleton | @ 6:13 AM | , , ,

Good Morning Girls! Happy World Card Making Day! Today, I am so excited to be celebrating with you girls in the card-making community this wonderful art along with the Holiday card-making kickoff! Through card-making, I have made so many friends from around the World - as card-making is such a Universal language :) For sketch inspiration, I used Taylor's amazing sketch TESC85 in combination with this week's Crazy 4 Challenges Week 5 - Sew Happy C4C5 (The title says it ALL!) To gaze upon some gorgeous creations, I recommend visiting these girls to see their creations, as well as their DT's :) Be sure to visit Paper-Crafts site so you can hop on the blog tour & see what others have created in celebration of World Card Making Day & check back later today, as I will be sharing more of my creative side with you :) Thanks for looking! Be Sweet!

Here is my Winter Wishes card:

If you click the card image, it will enlarge & you will be able to see ALL the detail! Playing along with the Crazy 4 Challenges Week 5, I was Sew Happy so I hand-stitched around the DP perimeter (as I have not mastered my lil' craft sewing machine LOL :)

Using the Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, I embossed the SU Whisper White cs to add a whole lot of texture!

Here are a few of the supplies I used to make this Winter Wishes card. The Imaginisce Polar Expressions DP is sooo beautifully patterned with many bright colors!

To make the snowflakes POP off the card, I used 3 different Martha Stewart snowflake punches, layered them x2, then sewed a PTI button in the center of each.

Ingredients Used: Stamps: Imaginisce Snowy Jo image Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers Yellow Green YG03, Pale Blue B32, Cadmium Red R27, Peach R32, Cadmium Orange YR07, Warm Grey W3, Colorless Blender 0 Paper: Imaginisce DP, SU Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Old Olive, Bazzill Pomegranate Sprinkles: Spellbinders Scalloped Circle nesties, Martha Stewart snowflake punches, PTI buttons, Michael's Basic-Basic ribbon, Cuttlebug snowflake EF, EK Success border punch

Monster Madness Thanks You! 14

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 2, 2009 @ 5:35 PM | , , ,

Hi Ladies! Are you ready for the weekend? I am looking forward to celebrating World Card Making Day :) I don't have too much planned, other than making some Christmas / Holiday cards, blurfing (blog-hopping) & riding my bike :) This is the LAST week of the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired Challenges! Just as a refresher: Over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot, they are celebrating their 1st birthday with a Birthday Palooza! As a participant in the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired Challenges, we were challenged over the past several weeks to create various projects. Week 1, we had to create an invitation to our "themed" party,(mine being Halloween) Week 2 - a gift bag & card, Week 3 - a matching mini-album, Week 4 - a centerpiece. We were to incorporate the use of at least one Cuttlebug embossing folder in our project so, I used both the Tiny Bubbles & Tiny Mosaic Texture embossing folders. This week, for the Be Inspired Challenge #51, we were challenged to create matching Thank You Notes to match our party theme. For sketch inspiration, I used Kazan's amazing Sketch #36 from 2 Sketches 4 You. Week after week, at both sites, the girls & their DT's, provide us papercrafters with challenges & beautiful creations to get us motivated to start our creative juices! I recommend stopping by, gaze at their creations & maybe you too will feel inspired to play along :) Thanks for sharing these lil' cute Monsters with me over the past 5 weeks! Be Sweet!

Here is my Monster Thank You card:

With this Bird's eye view, you can see how I used BOTH the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic Texture & Tiny Bubbles embossing folders.

Once again, here is the invites, the card, the gift bag & the mini album!

Peppermint Mocha Anyone? 24

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:03 AM | , , , , , ,

Hi Girls! TGIF :) I am so happy that the weekend is almost here! So much is going on in my neck of the woods - The Creative Keepsakes scrapbook convention & World Card Making Day to name a few :) Sooo much to do - Sooo lil' time :( Still undecided about driving 45 miles each way to attend to the convention BUT I will be participating in World Card Making Day on Saturday, October 3rd! Be sure to stop by to see what I have been up to! This week, Dawn over at The Raspberry Suite is hosting a color challenge, RSCC17, featuring GORGEOUS colors & Taylor over at Taylored Expressions, is hosting a FUN sketch challenge for you to play with, TESC84! If you are wanting to see more eye candy, I recommend visiting BOTH of these sites as well as their Design Teams! I'd love to know if any of you have been to this years Creative Keepsakes convention & if so, what were your "MUST HAVES?" Be Sweet!

Here is my Peppermint Mocha set:

You know how I love gift sets! Rather than creating a template of sorts, I kept my gift set SUPER simple! I bought this inexpensive snowflake mug at my local grocery store & filled it with a few goodies: a few packets of Peppermint Latte mix, several chocolate covered peppermint sticks & a lil' cellophane bag full of mini marshmallows! Just add a lil' ribbon & button to dress it up! Makes for an inexpensive gift! Who doesn't like a BEAUTIFUL mug to sip their Peppermint Latte from? :)

This is my 1st Stampendous Changito! Isn't he cuuute? I just want to pinch his cheeks! I can see more of him in my stampin' future :)

I colored the lil' guy in using Copic markers: Dull Ivory E43, Warm Grey W-1, Strong-Red R46, Moon White BG11, Colorless Blender 0, Maroon E77

Ingredients Used: Stamps: Stampendous Changito Cocoa, PTI Polka Dots Basics, Stocking Prints Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Basic Black, Copic Markers: Dull Ivory E43, Warm Grey W-1, Strong-Red Moon White BG11, Colorless Blender 0Maroon E77, Paper: SU Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, PTI Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy Sprinkles: Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder, Spellbinders Scalloped circles & circle, Basic Grey brads, EK Success Diamond Lace punch, Offray ribbon, PTI twine, generic buttons
