November Friends of WM Blog Waltz 100

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, November 17, 2010 @ 1:00 AM | ,

Hi There! Here today for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. This month, Claire is challenging us all to create a Christmas themed project.

Once the Waltz begins, you have plenty of time to visit all the participating blogs/galleries at your leisure. A separate thread will be set up for chat and a special game for a chance to win a stamp set of choice. And, of course, we will draw a name from all those who participate in the waltz to win a stamp set of choice! The competition doesn't end until 11:59 pm Eastern on November 19th, so you have plenty of time! We are playing the "watermark" game  - count the number of watermarks you find in the DT posts and then enter your guess int eh chat thread for a chance to win a stamps set of choice. All the details are in the Waltzingmouse Forum (Playroom:Blog Waltzes), where you'll also find all the links for the waltz.

Claire has designed so many beautiful Christmas stamps, it's difficult to choose which ones to create with so I pulled out an "oldie" but one of my faves Seasons of Love -Tags which is full of so many images and sentiments that can be easily mixed and matched allowing for an endless number of combinations.

After inking up the star image with VersaMark ink and embossing using white embossing powder, I cut/embossed the image using a S4-092 Stars Five die template. I stamped the sentiment then cut/embossed using a S4-116 Standard Circles SM die template, sponged on a bit of blue ink then adhered it to the star, popping it up with a few 3D foam squares.

Up close, you get a good look at the beautiful embossed detail:
Next up, is my card featuring the beautiful heart image:
To create this card, I basically repeated the steps above, substituting the star die template with the S4-136 Classic Heart die template and swapped the circle die template with a S4-112 Classic Ovals SM die template. Also layering the heart with a layer cut using a S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart die template.

Here is the heart up close and personal :)
Thanks so much for looking! Off to enjoy the inspiration on the Waltz :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Seasons of Love -Tags, Musical Backgrounds
Die Templates and Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-092 Stars Five, S4-136 Classic Heart, S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart, S4-116 Standard Circles SM, S4-112 Classic Ovals SM, GC-001 Grand Calibur
