beautiful 38

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, November 28, 2015 @ 10:49 AM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of the beautiful Trevi fountain.  Scott took this photo while we were vacationing in Rome a few years ago.
I combined a variety of some of my favorite products to create this layout. I started with a piece of pretty paper from the 7 Dots Studio Thoughts Keeper collection then added texture using a MFT stencil along with Prima texture paste:
For color, I combined a variety of Ranger Distress Stains.
For contrast, I stamped and heat embossed images from Prima Coffee Stains stamp set and embellished with a variety of white die cuts that were made using Spellbinders and Sizzix dies:
For a little more texture and design, I adhered a sprinkle of Prima Rust Glass Beads:
I'm joining along with the following challenges:
7 Dots Studio Vintage themed challenge:
Stuck?! sketch challenge:
 ColourQ colour challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you enjoyed my project!

The 7th Day of Christmas Prima style 22

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, November 25, 2015 @ 9:52 AM | , , , , , ,

***I have two posts today, please be sure to visit my post for the color throwdown HERE-thank you***

Hi there! In case you missed it, Prima is currently celebrating 12 Days of Christmas on the Prima blog -click HERE. There are many beautiful and inspiring projects for you to check out and a variety of challenges to play along with as well of many prizes to be won! Check it out HERE.
Today it's my turn up on the Prima blog in celebration of the 7th Day of Christmas.
We were asked to create a Christmas tag featuring Prima's IOD Oil Pastels.
I was going for a cold wintry Christmas theme so I created a tag using a cool color palette by combining the following beautiful Oil Pastels colors: Yellow Green, Sky Blue and Light Blue.
To create this tag, I die cut and layered various pretty papers from the Garden Fable collection, added lots of texture using Light Paste Opaque Matte medium along with the Honeycomb stencil followed with lots of color using oil pastels. I embellished the tag with a trio of die cut snowflakes that were colored using the Yellow Green oil pastel then coated with Pearl Glass Glitter along with a variety of beautiful Prima flowers and a sweet resin owl.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my tag. Please be sure to visit the Prima blog for loads of inspiration and to join along in one of the challenges! There are many beautiful and inspiring projects for you to check out and a variety of challenges to play along with as well of many prizes to be won! Check it out HERE.

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! In case you missed it, Prima is currently celebrating 12 Days of Christmas on the Prima blog. There are many beautiful and inspiring projects for you to check out and a variety of challenges to play along with as well of many prizes to be won! Check it out HERE.
Being a Prima DT member myself, I am ineligible to win a prize but I still enjoy joining along regardless :) I created a mixed media style Christmas card for my dear husband which features a variety of Prima products.
Once I embossed the background, I painted it using Prima black gesso followed with Prima Mica Powders: Teal, Rust, Copper. The wooden snowflake came from a local craft store. I painted it using black gesso and Prima Teal Mica Powder:
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
the Mixed Media Place Creative Gym Exercise #14 challenge where we are challenged to create a Christmas themed card, tag or ATC project:
the Merry Monday Christmas Card challenge where we are challenged to create a Christmas card with a reindeer on it:
Many thanks for stopping by~ I hope you enjoyed my card!

Season's Greetings 22

Mona Pendleton | Friday, November 20, 2015 @ 1:08 AM | , ,

Hi there! Today I have a rather simple Christmas card to share featuring a fun tree image from a PTI stamp set that I recently purchased along with pretty patterned Tim Holtz papers.
I stamped and heat embossed the image then applied Distress Ink around the image to make it stand out as it sort of faded into the background:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Freshly Made Sketches:
and I'm also joining along with the current Card Concept challenge where the theme is Festive Glory. I was inspired by the gingham pattern and vintage vibe of the photo to create this Clean & Graphic Christmas card:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great weekend!
Be Sweet ;)
