Christmas in July...MFT July Creative Challenge 37

Mona Pendleton | Monday, July 22, 2013 @ 9:00 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to the July MFT Design Team Creative Challenge! Just in case you are not familiar, the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique.

This month, we are celebrating Christmas in July
I have a couple of Christmas greeting cards to share. My first card features the sweet snowman from Pure Innocence Holiday Hugs:
I stamped the cutie on a die cut that was made using a postage stamp STAX die, inked the edges with Kraft ink and added a sentiment along with two Natural buttons.
My next card features the beautiful Vintage Santa image from Inspired by Christmas which was stamped on a piece of Primitive Cream cardstock that was cut using a die from Die-namics Blueprints 5:
I completed the card with a faux bow and ribbon treatment featuring a variety of bits and pieces from the following Die-namics dies: Blueprints 5, 3 and 1. LOVE to mix and match various dies when I can!
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have Christmas themed projects to share with you today.

Welcome...MFT November Creative Challenge 62

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 26, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all off to a great start of the Holiday Season! I'm here to share a project for the MFT Design Team December Creative Challenge.
In case you are not familiar, the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create Holiday Home Decor using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I created a mixed media holiday wall hanging using a variety of Die-namics along with several MFT stamp sets. After creating the textured brick wall, I randomly stamped the larger dots from LJD Darling Dots on the wall for a little added texture and depth. I think it also adds character ;) LOL
I added a trio of multi-layered Poinsettias that were made using Die-namics Poinsettia  which I sprayed using heidi swapp Sweet Cherry Color shine. I finished them off with a dusting of glitter and a rhinestone brad.
Tucked behind the Poinsettias are beautiful die cut flourishes that were made using Die-namics Medium Fancy Flourish and Die-namics Large Leafy Flourish.
I made a couple of Christmas tree topiaries using Die-namics Jumbo Banner Day STAX. Once the trees were die cut, spritzed and assembled, I randomly stamped using LJD Darling Dots. The pots were made using Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and each topped off with a star made using Die-namics Star STAX.
Once the wooden door was completed with all the texture and color, I adhered a die cut wreath that was made using Die-namics Winter Wreath and fashioned a stamped sentiment on it. The 'Tis the Season sentiment is from Inspired by Christmas and was stamped on a die cut strip that was made using Die-namics Sentiment Strips
In case you are interested in a nearly step by step more detailed tutorial, please take a peek at the tutorial I put together shown below:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my mixed media holiday wall hanging as much as I enjoyed creating it! Remember to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create a Holiday Home Decor project for you today!

Joy to the World...CR84FN67 39

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, November 10, 2012 @ 9:55 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! It's not only time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge but it's time to introduce to the newest talented members of the CR84FN DT! Thanks to all who joined along with CR84FN66 ~ so many pretty projects filled the gallery! The CR84FN DT is growing and I am honored and thrilled to introduce you to the newest CR84FN talented designers: Vickie ZimmerHelen BerryJoanne BasileJody MorrowLisa Henke and Mackie Roberston. I hope you stop by their blogs and take a peek around, surely you will be inspired!

For nearly the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combo shown below. Photos used to create the graphic are courtesy of Kate Robinson Photography.
I made a Christmas card and tag set featuring the gorgeous vintage Santa image from Inspired by Christmas. I stamped the Santa images on die cut circles made using a Die-namics Circle STAX Set 2 die then heat embossed using gold embossing powder.
To create the background, I simply dry embossed a piece of cardstock then applied gold paint highlighting the embossed design. I added a glitter kissed rose made using Die-namics Large Royal Rose
I stamped the Joy to the World sentiment on a die cut made using Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die.
I completed the inside simply by stamping and heat embossing the beautiful Vintage Santa image along with a another sentiment from Inspired by Christmas.
The coordinating die cut tag was made using a Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX die and features a rolled rose made using a Die-namics Mini Royal Roses die.
Thanks so very much for visiting! For additional inspiration, please be sure to visit the CR84FN blog to see what the other design team members have created. Have a great day / evening!

Peace...MFTWSC94 38

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, October 17, 2012 @ 9:00 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Before I get to today's post, I wanted to thank all of you who took the time to not  only stop by over the past week but leave such sweet comments during the MFT October Teasers :) I really appreciate it!

It's Wednesday and that means it is time for an all new My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge! Thanks to all who joined along ~ so many wonderful cards! For additional inspiration from participating DT members, please be sure to visit the MFT Blog.
I feel like time is flying by so I better jump on the Christmas card making wagon and get busy! Before we know it, Christmas will be here!
To create this card, I stamped the pretty jingle bells image from Inspired by Christmas on a die cut piece of Whip Cream cardstock using VersaMark ink then heat embossed using fine gold embossing powder.
This sketch "calls" for a few extra bits and bobs here and there. In the upper right had corner, using a piece of MFT Hemp, I strung together a few Whip Cream Buttons then adhered them in place. In the lower right hand corner, I stitched a small cardstock die cut that was made using a die from Die-namics Fishtail Banner then added a few leaves made using Die-namics Royal Leaves along with a Whip Cream Felt rolled rose that was made using a die from Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses.
Thanks so much for visiting! Always enjoy hearing from all of you :) Have a great day/evening!
Be Sweet ;)
