May WMS Previews Day #3 60

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Welcome to May Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #3! In case you missed my last two posts, Claire will be releasing FIVE new stamp sets on Sunday, May 1st. For the previous 2 days, today and tomorrow, Claire, the Waltzingmouse DT & myself have shared and will be sharing some awesome samples of inspiration showcasing these amazing stamps! (So if you missed the past 2 days of samples, please feel free to check them out :) Today, we are all previewing Dainty-Doilies Large and *Dainty-Doilies 2 Small (*not shown here today).

I made a Thank You gift ensemble featuring several sweet doily images and sentiments from Dainty-Doilies Large.

(Note: you can rotate this image 360 degrees by doing the following... Within the photo, click and drag your mouse pointer to the left or right to spin the box! You can also use the left and right arrows on your keyboard or use the left and right arrows icons. You can also zoom in or out to get a better view of the box by using the (+) and (-) icons. Lastly, you can simply press the Play icon (circular arrow) to rotate the box automatically. Give it a try!)

To decorate the gift box top, I stamped the largest doily image then using a Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles LG to cut/emboss the beautiful image which is displayed on pretty patterned paper from the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Collection. I topped it off with a flower made using Tim Holtz tissue paper tape and a gorgeous Webster's Pages cameo.
I randomly stamped doilies using various colored inks to create the patterned paper on the box sides and for the main background paper on the card:
Similar to the box topper embellishment is a smaller doily:
Shown in the photo below, you can see how several of the beautiful doily images from Dainty Doilies Large coordinate with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles LG die templates:
To create the doily patterned paper used on these projects, I inked up 5 various sized doilies from the Dainty Doilies Large:
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! Thanks for looking! For some awesome inspiration, please be sure to see what Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT have created:

May WMS Previews Day #2 63

Mona Pendleton | Friday, April 29, 2011 @ 12:00 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to May Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #2! Claire will be releasing FIVE new stamp sets on Sunday, May 1st & for the next 3 days, Claire, the Waltzingmouse DT & myself will be sharing some awesome samples of inspiration showcasing these amazing stamps!  Today, we are all focusing on the NEW Join Us stamp set.

First up, I made a Thank You card:
I created a label using a single motif image from the Join Us set. First, I cut/embossed a label using a Labels Four die template, then I stamped the THANK YOU sentiment followed with a beautiful motif image above and below the sentiment. I inked up a gingham image from Gingham & Co. to create a piece of patterned paper.
Next, I made a dinner date invite by combining a few sentiments from Join Us:
I didn't count the number of images in the Join Us set but let me tell you there is a BUNCH that can be so easily mixed and matched making the possibilities endless! Such a versatile set! I showcased the sentiment on a Very Vintage Labels No. 10 label that coordinates perfectly with a Spellbinders™ Labels Ten die template.
That wraps it up for today. Thanks for looking! For some awesome inspiration, please be sure to see what Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT have created:

Hi there! Welcome to May Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews Day #1! Claire will be releasing FIVE new stamp sets on Sunday, May 1st & for the next 3 days, Claire, the Waltzingmouse DT & myself will be sharing some awesome samples of inspiration showcasing these amazing stamps!  Today, we are all previewing Gingham & Co. while focusing on projects for those special women in life known as Moms or Mothers :)

First up, I made a card using one of the gingham images to create some background paper: (shown on the left & right sides):
Gingham & Co. set not only contains various gingham images but an awesome "solid" polka dot stamp! I inked up the polka dot stamp with SU Pretty In Pink ink then used a couple of die templates to create a butterfly embellishment:
My second card features a polka dot rose with gingham leaves:
To make the rose, I stamped the polka dot image followed by the rose then, I paper pieced the rose and added a brad to the center. I created the gingham leaves by stamping a gingham image from Gingham & Co. then using several leaf dies from Spellbinders™ Nested Leaves.

Heartfelt Thanks 50

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, April 27, 2011 @ 1:11 AM | , ,

Hi there! Here today to share a card I made using a combination of a few of my favorite products and playing along with one of my favorite sketch challenges :)
Once I decided to create with the beautiful Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Collection  patterned paper, the rest of the card just sort of fell in place. Gotta love it when that happens especially at 1:00 AM! I cut the Papertrey Ink Button Card, stamped the images, sewed on the buttons, added a bow & flower. The sweet Heartfelt Thanks sentiment was stamped using an image from JustRite Fancy Tags then cut/embossed using a JustRite Nested Frame Die template.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 112. If you are looking for some awesome inspiration, please be sure to visit the site!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you like what you see :) Be Sweet!

***I'll be back tomorrow, Thursday, April 28th at 3:00 AM Eastern with May Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews - hope to see you then :) ***

Many thanks to Heather, the entire Skipping Stones DT and Guests for such a warm welcome and wonderful time :) Every Tuesday, Skipping Stones Design hosts a sketch challenge and all are encouraged to join along in the fun!

Boys to Men...April PTI Blog Hop 80

Mona Pendleton | @ 6:46 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I'm so excited to be playing along with this month's PTI Blog Hop! Nichole, Owner of PTI is challenging us all to create a project for the men in our lives. YIKES! I must admit this is quite the challenge for me as I avoid masculine projects like the plague! I love all the frilly "girly" doo dads and pretty patterned paper. Didn't even think I owned a "masculine" PTI stamp!
Here's my take on a "masculine" card:
I started with some awesome paper from My Mind's Eye and went from there. I stamped a label from Mat Stack 4  on top of a Mat Stack 4 label die cut, inked the edges, fastened 2 brads in place then popped it on the card with 3D foam adhesive squares.

I made a few "upcycled" star embellishments. I adorned the larger star with a Tiny tag made by combining a tiny tag die cut and images from the Tiny Tags.
Thanks so much for looking ~ hope to see you on the hop! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink: Tiny Tags, Mat Stack 4
Die Templates & Machine: Papertrey Ink: Tiny Tags, Mat Stack 4 : Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Stars Five, Grand Calibur
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Hattie Collection, PTI Vintage Cream
Ribbon: Vintage Green Baker's Twine Courtesy of Kimberly at My Craft Spot

Mother...CR84FN25 54

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, April 23, 2011 @ 8:55 PM | , , ,

Happy Easter Sunday to all those who celebrate! No Easter egg hunting going on at my house but the Easter Bunny still visits and brings everyone their own baskets full of Easter JOY :)

Before I get to the new CR84FN Color Challenge, I would like to thank Silke Ledlow for joining the CR84FN DT as our April Guest Designer :) Thanks so much to all who played along with us last week ~ so many pretty pastel projects that filled the gallery and thanks to all who continually support the challenge, the CR84FN DT and me :)

This week, we have a little bit bolder color combo to challenge you with:
 RED, AQUA and WHITE
Photos are courtesy of MARTHASTEWART.com

With Mother's Day right around the corner ;), I made a card for my sweet Mother-in-law, Barbara.
I stamped the bouquet of Tulips image from Papertrey Ink Friendship Jar Spring Fillers colored with Copic markers shown below then cut the image out. Using the Papertrey Ink Jar and Lid die templates to cut the jar and lid, stamped the coordinating images then pieced it all together.
Both the sentiments are from Waltzingmouse Roses In Bloom.
Shown below is the combination of the Copic Markers used:

with Love...WMSC44 50

Mona Pendleton | @ 1:00 AM | , , ,

Happy Saturday! Hope you are all having a great weekend, maybe preparing for an Easter Sunday celebration, if you observe the holiday? Always fun to share Easter treats!

It's time for another fun Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Claire even added embossing to the mix!
I combined a few of my favorite Waltzingmouse stamp sets along with a Sizzix embossing folder:
I stamped the flower image from Afternoon Tea Sentiments x 2, colored using a mixture of Copic markers and paper pieced the one flower in the upper left corner for added dimension. I stamped a label image from using VersaMark ink, embossed with white embossing powder then cut/embossed using a Labels Four die template then adhered the flowers on top.
I love the sweet little with LOVE sentiment from Afternoon Tea Sentiments and it fits so well on a PTI Tiny Tag.
Thanks so much for looking! That is all I have to share today, so I hope you have enjoyed what I made and maybe feel inspired to play along! Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN challenge ~ hope to see you then!
Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Afternoon Tea Sentiments, Very Vintage Labels No. 4
