FTTC95 - Guest Designing 64

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 29, 2010 @ 10:01 PM | , ,

Hi there! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC95)! It is the last Tuesday of the month so that means Flourishes invites one lucky person to host the challenge - well that would be me! Yahoooo! I am so thrilled and honored to join this awesome talented design team for this challenge! Thanks so much Betty for inviting me! I chose to challenge everyone to create a project focusing on doilies. You can use actual doilies or create your own with punches or die cuts. The object is to have a doily look! Along with the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge DT, I look forward to seeing what you create!

I used a beautiful image from Flourishes Gerber Daisies:
I inked up the smaller bouquet of Gerber Daises with Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the Copic markers shown below, colored the image then cut/embossed using a S4-112 Classic Ovals SM die template, layered upon another oval cut/embossed using a S4-110 Classic Ovals LG.
Using some distressing ink, I rubbed the edges of a white paper doily then adhered the pretty bouquet right smack in the center! What do you think?
Can't go wrong with a pretty butterfly right? Using the butterfly template from S4-123 Flying Beauties die templates collection to cut/emboss a lil' butterfly. For added texture, I embossed the butterfly and used two layers.
For COMPLETE challenge details, please visit the Flourishes Blog HERE and for amazing inspiration, please be sure to visit all gals on the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge DT: Betty, Cindy H., Dee, Silke, Maki, and Barbara.

Supplies Used:

Winter Wishes..CR84FN5..WMSC25 48

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, November 28, 2010 @ 8:06 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Were you out and about shopping on Black Friday? I'm not one for crowds - I like my personal space - it sort of irritates me to get elbowed, nudged or my ankles bumped by a baby stroller so no shopping for me on Friday. I prefer Cyber Monday myself - now that is my sort of shopping - hanging out in the comforts of my home while shopping :) I made this card to share today:
I love the lil' snowman image from Waltzingmouse Sewing Box - Christmas so I inked him up, colored the hat and highlighted the edges with the Copic Markers listed below then using a sharp scissors to trim around the edges. For color inspiration, I referred to the CR84FN5 challenge which has been extended due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. For COMPLETE details, please click HERE. I would love to see what you create with this fun color combo!
and for sketch inspiration, I joined in the fun with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

I popped the lil' guy up with a few foam adhesive squares on a snowflake embossed label cut using a S4-161 Labels One die template, smudged on white chalk ink to highlight the embossed background then stitched to a frame cut using a S4-295 Lacey Square die template using a whimsical sort of stitch.
What do you think of the shimmery snowflake? It is a pre-cut foam snowflake that I applied some glue to then sprinkled on some Melissa Frances Mica flakes.

Thanks so much for looking! Hope you enjoy your day/night wherever you may be! Be Sweet :)
Supplies Used:

BINGO Christmas mini 46

Mona Pendleton | Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 11:52 PM | , ,

Hi there! I'm here today to share a mini memory album using mainly Melissa Frances products. I was hoping to teach a how-to work shop creating this project but simply ran out of time. I have something else up my sleeve for one of my favorite upcoming Holidays - so perhaps then it will all work out ;) This BINGO book was featured on the Melissa Frances blog yesterday (HERE) but I wanted to share a few of the personal details:

On the cover, is a photo of my step children, Meredith and Connor in front of the Christmas tree: (Please keep in mind when looking at this book that I used a mixture of pics from several years ago. Jerry is now 22, Angie 20, Connor 15, Meredith 13, Louis, my Father-in-law is now resting in peace and Barbara, my Mother-in-law, Scott and myself remain FOREVER young ;)

On the left hand side are my children: Angie on the top in front of the tree and Jerry below peeking at a gift. On the right hand side is Connor checking the chimney to be sure Santa did not get stuck! Oh, the innocence of days gone by ;)
Up next, on the left hand side is Connor opening a gift while wearing his Boston Red Sox Santa hat. On the right hand side are Connor and Meredith helping me decorate cookies and sample a few for quality control ;)
Next up, on the left hand side are both my Father and Mother-in-law and on the right hand side is Scott sporting his Santa hat ;)
Last but not least, on the left hand side we have Meredith reading Scott a lil' book that she made extra special for him and on the left hand side is Connor sharing some love with Scott ;)
I had a lot of fun making this lil' book combining so many of my favorite products and reminiscing as I placed each photo in it's place. Thanks so much for looking and I hope you take a peek at the Melissa Frances blog to have a look at all the other amazing Holiday projects! Have a great weekend :)

Peaceful Doves 31

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:41 PM | , ,

Hi there! Are you ready for the weekend? After all the preparation for the Thanksgiving celebration yesterday, I am more than ready :) I have this weekend off from work and have nothing but crafting planned :) I have been busy working on necessary design team projects all morning so I thought I would take a break and make a card to share here on my blog AND I have another project to share with you that is being featured on the Melissa Frances's Blog today (click HERE) I hope you take a peek:)
For today's card, I inked up a beautiful image from Flourishes Dove and Holly and colored it with the Copic Markers shown below then using a S5-006 Curved Rectangles die template to cut/emboss the image. For sketch inspiration, I played along with the fun sketch designed by Cindy Haffner for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC94):
I'm lovin' all the layers this sketch has to offer! I pulled out some Fancy Pants patterned paper from my stash and combined it with a few of my favorite things.
My crafting space looks like a Winter Wonderland~I've been using the S4-286 2010 Snowflake Pendants die templates so much lately! I had one to spare so I popped it on and adhered a Prima jewel in the center.
I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for looking :) I'll be back tomorrow for a few things to share.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Flourishes Dove and Holly

Happy Harvest 33

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, November 25, 2010 @ 9:24 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and blogging friends in the US! I have so much to be thankful for and count my blessings everyday. Thank you all who visit and take the time to leave a comment on my little blog hosted on the world wide web :) Since I baked all the pies and did most of the prep work last night along with my hubby, I had a chance to make a card in celebration of today.
I inked up the pie image from Peace and Plenty then colored it with a combination of Copic markers shown below.
I stamped an ornate frame around the pie using an image from Very Vintage Labels No. 1 using a S4-161 Labels One die template to cut/emboss the image. I pulled out Melissa France's Kitschy Kitchen DP from my stash as I found it quite fitting for this happy Harvest card.
Our house will be quite full with family today: my step-children, my son & his girlfriend, my sweet sister Tina, my niece & 8 yr. old Great niece will be joining Scott & I for the day. We have to prepare a variety of meals. My son, Jerry & his GF April are Vegan so they will be eating ToFurkey as their main course. My step-son, Connor does not care for turkey so he will be having fried shrimp. My step-daughter, Meredith pleaded for ham so I sort of cheated & purchased a yummy ham from the Honey Baked Ham store :) and Scott, Tina & I will be enjoying smoked turkey that Scott prepared :) Here is a pic of my "famous" apple pie that everyone loves:
Thanks so much for visiting today & no matter where you are in the world, I hope you have a wonderful day! Big Cyber hugs to all of you :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 1, Peace and Plenty

Peace 49

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 1:00 AM | ,

Hi There! Hope you all are off to a great start of a new week! I had some crafty time when I came home from work and I made a few Christmas cards just for fun.
I'm lovin the new gorgeous colors of Spellbinders™ Precious Metals Premium Craft Foils. The  reindeer embellishment was made using Gunmetal foil and a S4-287 Fanciful Holiday die template.
I had a spare glittered snowflake sitting in a mound of left overs in my stash and added a few tags: one made from stamping the "Sleigh Bells Ring.." from Compliments of the Season on a Maya Road tag and a lil' tag with the Peace sentiment from Nutcracker Sweet combined with snowflakes from Sewing Box - Christmas and topped with a lil' rhinestone.
Next up, is a card featuring a mix of a stamped BG paper with embossed snowflakes from Very Vintage Christmas and fun Pink Paislee DP. The tree image and lil' tag display Pink Paislee Press ons and the Holiday WISHES sentiment is from Very Vintage Christmas
I hope you have a great Tuesday. I fortunately have the day off from work - YIPEEEE! My never ending to do list consists of conquering grocery shopping for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and hopefully joining my son for a lunch date :) Whatever is on your agenda for the day, I hope you had a great time.
