Embrace life...FTTC167 55

Mona Pendleton | Monday, April 30, 2012 @ 9:16 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to an all new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! Thanks to all who joined along with last week's challenge :) This week, Cindy is our wonderful hostess and she is challenging us to "add a butterfly" to our project.
I chose to feature the pretty butterfly image from Butterflies and Blossoms along with images from 3 other stamp sets. I love that Flourishes images are so easy to mix and match, providing countless ways to create with them!
The beautiful floral embossed image that frames the butterfly is from Love and Lace, the sentiment is from Gerber Daisies.
and the sweet sentiment tag was made using a sentiment from Tiny Flowers and Tags and was cut using a die from Tailor-Made Classic Tags die set.
I missed the deadline but for sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for complete details and for some fabulous inspiration visit our May Guest Designer: Marie Oberg and the entire DT: HeatherSilkeMakikoCindyBeateAmanda

Little Lady...CR84FN53 62

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, April 28, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to an all new CR84FN Color Challenge! Thanks so much to all who joined along with CR84FN52 ~ so many pretty projects! For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combo shown below:
These pretty pastel colors inspired me to scrap a layout featuring a photo of my sweet sister Tina dating back a few years ago ;) For the title, I inked up one of the fun sentiments from the Waltzingmouse Back in the Saddle set.
This layout consists of a hodgepodge of patterned papers! A little from Melissa Frances, Websters Pages and Glitz Designs. I combined lots of die cuts with a homespun "Tina" flower along with a few manufactured flowers. The gorgeous butterfly was made using one of the two dies from the Spellbinders Wings of Hope set. This is a very special set that Spellbinders has created and donates a portion to a charitable organization. For more details click HERE.
I admire Tina's crocheted handiwork and appreciate every little blossom she makes special for me :)
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current challenge at  My Creative Sketches

BIRTHDAY wishes...WMSC95 36

Mona Pendleton | @ 8:34 AM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend! I have a rather simple Birthday card to share using this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge sketch.
I am in desperate need of Birthday cards for some dear girlfriends so  I went that route.
Notice my new card holder? I've been teasing my DH about needing/wanting ;) a vintage typewriter just because. I really don't but it has become a joke between the two of us. One day while out on a retail therapy excursion, I came across this FAUX vintage typewriter! When Scott noticed it displayed on a shelf, he asked where I ordered it from and proceeded to pick it up. You should have seen the look on his face when he picked it up to examine it and realized it was FAUX!!! PRICELESS :) LMBO
About the card, I stamped and heat embossed a much neglected pretty doily from Dainty Doilies 2 Small and a sentiment from Fancy Phrases.

Thanks so much for looking ~ hope you enjoy your day! I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN. Be Sweet :)

when in rome... 35

Mona Pendleton | Friday, April 27, 2012 @ 12:05 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Are you ready for the weekend? I will be at 3:00 pm, when my shift ends :) I wanted to scrap, so I pulled out a photo of Scott and I that was taken several years ago in front of the Roman Colosseum:
I pulled out a few sheets of beautiful Webster's Pages DP from the Western Romance collection, some manufactured flowers and a few die cuts. In case you are wondering what dies I used, here is a list: the pretty butterfly was cut using a Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die, the foliage was cut using a Spellbinders Foliage die, the oval doily was cut using a Spellbinders Floral Oval die.
I sort of feel guilty when use manufactured flowers but I must say, I was crunched for time and it was oh so easy to reach into my stash and grab a few beauties :)
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Once Upon A Sketch challenge which is also asking players to focus on a "Home" theme.
Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you have a great weekend! Be Sweet :)

Think different! 32

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, April 25, 2012 @ 9:45 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you came to visit with an open mind! While I was away last week, I took my art journal and a suitcase full of artsy stuff, I LEAPED outside my pastel comfort zone and had lots of fun!  LOL :)
You may be asking yourself, What the heck is she thinking? huh? I like to challenge myself, trying new techniques, colors and products so I thought why not give it a try? What can it hurt? I'll be the first to admit, the bright colors are not my favorite nor is the funky image but I like her because she IS different and I enjoyed the process. :)
I combined various Ranger Dylusions sprays, stamps, lots of Gesso, Crafter's Workshop stencils, Neocolor crayons, etc...
Thanks so much for visiting ~ hope you have a good one!

Cheer up...FTTC166 78

Mona Pendleton | Monday, April 23, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , ,

Hi there! It's time for an all new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Thanks to all who played along last week ~ so many pretty projects!
This week, Heather is our hostess and she has challenged us to a game of Bingo!
I opted for the middle column using: Lace, Ribbon and Flowers.
To create my card, I used the "Thinking of You" sentiment from Zinnias as the "main" sentiment and added a sentiment tag using "Cheer up" from Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock then using a die from the Tailor-Made Classic Tags Die Set to create the darling tag. The pretty patterned paper is from the Prima Song Bird paper pack.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with Unscripted Sketches which has a twist this week to use something recycled on your card. I upcycled a corrugated cardboard cup liner to make the die cut bird.
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for complete details and for some fabulous inspiration visit the entire DT: HeatherSilkeMakikoCindyBeateAmandaGeri Utterback and Kazan Clark (April Guest Designers)

I pulled out one of my favorite MFT stamp sets: Sew Nifty and Donna Salazar's pretty Botanique DP and here is what I came up with:
I love MFT Sew Nifty Stamp set because it is full of a combination of pretty images and sentiments. I inked up the beautiful sewing machine image and paired it with a sweet sentiment:

Hey there...WMSC94 44

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:17 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! After returning home from vacation, I needed some inspiration to get papercrafting MOJO jump started, so I joined along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:
To create my card, I combined a sentiment from Compact Sentiments with a pretty wreath pattern stamp from Faux Fun Circles which coordinates perfectly with a Spellbinders Standard Circles SM die template. I then layered the circular sentiment die cut piece on top of a pretty die cut made using a Spellbinders Tear Drop Circle die template. The pretty patterned papers are from the Melissa Frances Attic Treasures collection.
Thanks so much for looking! I hope you ink up your Waltzingmouse Stamps and join in the fun! For some awesome inspiration, please be sure to visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site and see what the Mischief Makers and other DT Members have created! Be Sweet :)
