Thank You...WMSC43 43

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, April 16, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Looking forward to a fun weekend full of exercise :) Unfortunately, my hubby has to work today so my sweet sister Tina and I will be riding our bikes for miles on end trying to shed some unwanted winter weight :( My experience has been after turning 40 my metabolism came to a screeching halt and didn't ask for my permission! sigh...

Enough whining and on to this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:

Here's my interpretation of the fab sketch (I flipped it vertically):
I started with a piece of beautiful patterned paper from the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Collection. I inked up a label image from Very Vintage Labels No.4 with VersaMark ink, heat embossed using fine white embossing powder then using a Labels Four die template to cut/emboss the image then stamped a Thank You sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions on the label.

I made a few lil' sweet crepe paper flowers using Melissa Frances Vintage crepe paper while referring to Danielle Flanders fab tutorial (click HERE) and cut the leaves using various sized die templates from Nested Leaves.
That is all I have to share today, so I hope you have enjoyed what I made and maybe feel inspired to play along! Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN challenge and the April Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. Hope to see you then! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Rescue Remedies Additions, Very Vintage Labels No.4
Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Labels Four, Nested Leaves, Grand Calibur
Patterned Paper: Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Collection
Other: Melissa Frances Vintage crepe paper

Absolutely STUNNING, Mona ... so soft and pretty! Love those flowers -- must try!! Just ordered the 5th Ave MF paper line and can't wait for it to arrive so I can play too!

I agree, after 40 your body doesn't seem to want to cooperate anymore :( Now on the backside of my 40's, I have jiggly parts in areas that were never jiggly before - LOL!! After my hubby's recent cardiac scare 3 weeks ago, we've been walking daily for an hour (4 miles) and I've already lost 5 lbs ... but he's lost 10 lbs ... it's not fair that men lose weight faster than us girlies!

Eating heart healthy helps tremondously ... veggies and fruit don't add many extra calories!

Enjoy your FAB weekend :)

Yes, I understand after 40 and how that weight just starts to add and add- some days I look in the mirror and wonder who it is...lol
Love the new card today especially the flowers and the soft background.

Hi Mona, glad to see you enjoy exercising. Yes, I know what you mean about my metabolism slowing down! I have to exercise twice as much just to maintain my weight plus I love to eat which doesn't help things! Still, I plan to never give in and accept being overweight; there are just too many health consequences! You are a good inspiration for papercrafting AND health! Thanks!
BTW, I love your card! So elegant!

I just had a slice of home made apple cinnamon cake and now I read that you and your sister are riding your bike to get rid of a few calories :) That's why I am working in my garden tomorrow...
Funny; when you're 40 or 40+ you can get a few extra pounds only by thinking of cake, chocolate or whipped cream :) Really; it happens to me all the time.

Well I am way off track so on to your card! Using Melissa Frances papers and supplies is always a guarantee for a beauty. I love this card just as much as the one that has been published on the MF blog. I know I always write the same but this card is jaw dropping gorgeous. Pure beauty!
Enjoy your weekend!

So sweet, Mona. I love the pretty roses.

My metabolism halted when I was 27. Not sure why. I hope it doesn't get worse in a couple years when I turn 40. I am sure you and Tina had a fun time. It is chilly here today. :)
Hugs~
