Air Mail 46

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, August 4, 2013 @ 9:01 PM | , , , , , , , ,

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! It's Monday so it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge on the Simon Says Monday Challenge blog! This week the theme is "you've got air mail!" I was inspired  to alter a paper mache mailbox and create a coordinating greeting card.
First up is the mail box. To get started, I applied a base coat of Gesso to the mailbox followed with a coat of Silver Metallic Acrylic Paint and for an aged look, I randomly heat embossed Aged Silver Embossing Enamel all over it.
I embellished it with a variety of die cut flowers including Peonies and Bitty Blossoms. The postage stamp image is from Mini Blueprints 3 and the crown image is from Shabby French. The mail box is perched on a wooden spool that was distressed with multiple layers of Crackle Paint, broken china and black soot Distress Inks.
If you would like to see a 360 degree view, please feel free to watch the video below:

I I also made a coordinating greeting card:
For the background, I die cut a piece of patterned cardstock, randomly stamped postage themed images, heat embossing several then randomly applying distress inks. I embellished it with a die cut eiffel tower and resin heart embellishment.
In case you are interested, I have a few step shots to share that I took along the way:

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you join in the fun! Please be sure to stop by the Simon Says Monday Challenge blog to see all the amazing DT inspiration!
Be Sweet ;)
