happy Halloween...CR84FN38 81

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, September 10, 2011 @ 8:55 PM | , ,

Hi there! I would like to take a moment to remember all the men, women, children and their families who lost their lives 10 years ago today, on September 11th. My heart goes out to all those who lost their loved ones and I will continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Such a devastating event that changed the United States forever.

Today begins a new CR84FN Color Challenge. Thank you very much to all those who played along with CR84FN37 and thanks to those who cheer us on :) As a team, we have decided to continue with a bi-weekly schedule and hopefully, introducing a new Guest Designer after every TWO challenges beginning today! With that being said, I would like to introduce Marie Oberg who will be joining us for CR84FN38 and 39. Her awesome design work may be found on her blog at: on Ink'd Wings.

For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the fun color combo shown below:
(beautiful photos courtesy of Leslie at a creative mint)
I'm in the Halloween spirit so ran wild with this one! Using a few pieces of fun patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue collection, I covered a paper mache hat and sprinkled it with various embellishments:
I made a fan fold embellishment featuring Wendy, the sassy looking kitchen witch from Waltzingmouse Midnight Feast and patterned paper from the retired Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology collection which was inked up using PTI Raspberry Fizz ink:
Love the little feathered friend perched on top!
I also made a coordinating card to accompany this gift/decoration for my sweet sister Tina :)
In case you were wondering how I covered the paper mache hat, I took a few photos while doing so:
Here's the naked hat: $3.00 at Joann's ~ what a bargain!
The pretty Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue ~ Eau De Parfume ~ 00542 patterned paper before I tore it to pieces!
I started by ripping random size pieces of patterned paper:
inked the edges using Ranger frayed burlap Distress Ink:
then randomly adhered the torn distressed pieces to the paper mache hat. (NOTE: I prepped the hat using black Gesso prior to adhering paper).
Thanks so much for looking! Hope you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed creating it :) Please hop on over to CR84FN for COMPLETE details on how to join in the fun and for some awesome inspiration, please visit all the designers blogs listed below. Please remember they appreciate your company as well :) Be Sweet!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Midnight Feast
Patterned Paper:  Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue ~ Eau De Parfume ~ 00542
