love FOREVER ~ a mixed media project 65

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, September 13, 2011 @ 5:53 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Oh dear, the week is nearly half way over already! Where oh where does the time go when I have the day off from work? sigh... I know one thing, I spent some time in my "studio" having fun with some new products that I decided to dabble with and here is what I created:
My inspiration to create this project was a photo taken at my parents wedding on May 21st, 1949. I made a LASER copy of their photo at KINKO's then using a transfer technique, I transferred the photo copy on to a piece of Claudine Hellmuth Sticky back canvas. OK ~ I'm addicted now and want to transfer ALL of my photos! To create the collage background, rolled roses and foliage, I used scraps of patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue Collection. You may notice it's sort of muted? I brushed on  Ranger Studio One Blank Canvas paint after the collage was created. I thought the soft tones would work well with my Vintage Vogue project ;) What do you think?
I used Tim Holtz Mini Hearts set dies to cut two whimsical/primitive looking hearts, painted them and before stitching them in place, I tied a piece of twine around the pink one and added a little metal locket and key that I received from my sweet friend and CR84FN DT mate Suzanne Czosek.
Here's a photo of some of the various dies I used and what I made with each:
and here are a few more supplies used:
Here's the pile of torn paper pieces of various Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue patterned paper used to create the background:
This is what the background looked like prior to cutting using a Spellbinders Grand Labels Four die template:
Thanks so much for looking! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week :) I'll be a bit quiet as I am wrapping up a fun project to share with you on Friday and preparing for the upcoming Waltzingmouse release. Be Sweet!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Say it Loud
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue
Die Templates: Spellbinders Grand Labels FourSizzix Tim Holtz Mini Hearts set, MFT Mini Rolled Roses
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Studio One Painterly Pink, Blank Canvas, Purple Palette, Vintage Photo Distress ink
Other: Claudine Hellmuth sticky back canvas, buttons & ribbon from stash

Oh, now I think I need to get my parent's 50's wedding picture and do a large canvas project! It would be nice for my mother to have while she is still able to enjoy it. Her eyesight is so terrible, that the picture would have to be much larger. I think your idea is perfect.
