Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge......JUGS19 36

***I have 2 posts today - please scroll down if you are looking for my Sketch For You To Try post :) Thanks!***
Happy Saturday! Thank you so much to those who played along with our Pennant Banner challenge last week! It's time for a new Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge! Tracey is our wonderful Hostess this week & she designed this fabulous sketch for us all to play with! I would like to welcome Iwona Palamountain (a.k.a. Chupa) as the Featured Designer for the month of February :)
Here is my for you card:
I made this card for my dear son, Jerry, who will be turning 22 on Monday, February 8th! Surely, he can handle flowers at this point in his life! It is always a BIG challenge for me to create a masculine card!!! I think this particular card fits my need :)I purchased the Heartfelt Creations flower & leaf stamps while I was at CHA. I love the flowers because they coordinate with the Spellbinders Peony dies making it super duper easy to cut! All I had to do was ink up the flower stamps with SU Chocolate Chip ink, stamp on a piece of Darice Mulberry paper, position the Peony die then send it on it's way through my die cutting machine! Can't get much easier than that! My dear friend Andrea recently made a beautiful card using Mulberry paper which inspired me to pull mine out & actually use it, rather than saving it :)

For color inspiration, I played along with the gals over at The Play Date Cafe in this week's creativity challenge #15, PDCC15. Be sure to stop by the Cafe to see what the DT has created for you to gaze upon! One thing I always have to remind myself when playing in any challenge, the photo whether it be colors or a sketch, is merely inspiration & guidelines to get you on your way!

I inked up the leaf images with Versamark, then heat embossed with copper colored embossing powder. For a bit of shimmer, I added a touch of copper glitter to each flower.

I hope you can join along with Just Us Girls this week :) For complete details, please visit the Just Us Girls challenge site & be sure to visit ALL the DT girls (found on my side bar) & Chupa to see what they created!

Once you have your project photographed, be sure to go to Just Us Girls and post a direct link to your creation on our site.

I will be back tomorrow to share some exciting news! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by! Be Sweet!

Mona, these are both beautiful. I think your son will love his card. My son is 10 and he likes to make cards and scrapbook too. I DO have problems making masculine cards as well.

I have alot of card making to get done this weekend. There are alot of great challenges.
