Hello Girls! It is hard to believe today is September 10th already. I met my son & his girlfriend for dessert today at MOJO's (a frozen yogurt cafe) :) It's a lil' hard to be in the mood for fall around here in Phoenix with the temps still above 100 degrees. With ALL of the craft stores full of Halloween, Thanksgiving & even Christmas supplies / decorations are you in the mood for fall yet? This week's color combination over at The Color Throwdown will surely shift your gears into fall mode, at least that is what they did for me :) Pairing Lauren's awesome sketch #35 with the color scheme from The Color Throwdown #59, I made this pumpkin gift set! Seeing those gorgeous pumpkins in that vintage basket from Papertrey's Vintage Picnic set makes me want to bake a pumpkin pie! Do you enjoy pumpkin pie? Thanks for looking!
Starting with a card base measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" of SU Ruby Red cs, I layered a piece of SU Naturals White cs (4 1/8" x 5 3/8"), then a piece of SU Close to Cocoa cs (4" x 5 1/2"), & set aside. I inked up the brayer with SU Pumpkin Pie ink & rolled it right on to the Cuttlebug Autumn Type ef! Yep that's right! Repeating several times before sending a piece of SU Naturals White cs (3 7/8" x 5 1/8") through the Sizzix Big Shot Express. You get an entirely different looking piece of paper! It is like MAJIC!!! I adhered this new piece of "custom" DP to the other layers & set aside.
I inked up the PTI Vintage Picnic basket & pumpkin images with Memento Tuxedo Black & stamped them on a piece of SU Naturals White cs (2 1/4" x 2 3/4"). I stamped the tablecloth image, cut it out then layered it on a piece of cs punched out using a square scalloped EK Success punch. I then adhered these layers together, trimming off the excess around the top of the tablecloth image & pierced holes along the border. I colored these images in using Copic markers E43, W1, E27, R46, YG95, YR14, 0 Colorless Blender.
After coloring all the images, I positioned the tablecloth using a glue dot or two! Such a lil' detail makes that tablecloth "pop" right off the card! The main stamped piece is layered as follows: SU Ruby Red cs (2 3/8" x 2 7/8") & SU Close to Cocoa cs (2 1/2" x 2 3/4") that was cut using a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle. For a lil' touch, I pierced holes in the scalloped piece. The next two layers are the "Mona's custom ink embossed DP" :) (2 1/2" x 3 1/4") & SU Ruby Red cs (2 5/8" x3 3/8"). After assembling layers accordingly, I adhered to the cardfront & embellished with 4 generic brads. I threaded some PTI twine through several generic buttons & adhered with glue dots.
The PTI "happy harvest" image was inked up with SU Close to Cocoa ink, stamped on SU Naturals White cs (1/2" x 1 1/4"), layered on SU Ruby Red cs (3/4" x 1 7/8"), then SU Close to Cocoa cs (1" x 2 1/4"). I adhered it all together, punched a hole on both sides & ran a generous length of PTI twine around the card front and threaded it right through a Jo-Ann orange button.
For the card inside: I inked up a leaf image from the PTI Fall Elegance set with SU Close to Cocoa ink and randomly stamped the inside around the greeting. I made a small lil' pumpkin embellie by stamping the image, coloring & punching it out using an EK Success 1 1/4" circle punch then mounting it on a SU Close to Cocoa 1 1/2"cs scalloped circle via a Fiskars punch.
I just had to make a coordinating PTI My Timeless Template Tucked Away gift box designed by Lauren! These lil' templates are sooo easy to create & very versatile! Useful for Any Occasion! :)
I think it is pretty self explanatory how I made this one "my own"! The Mona's custom embossed DP is the same as on the card! I placed two XL We R Memory Keepers eyelets on the top using the Crop a Dile 11, ran a piece of PTI cream saddle stitched ribbon through, tying knots on the underside. You probably know by now, I LOVE ribbon! Using generous lengths of PTI twine, Offray & American Crafts ribbon, I made a bow. With the SU tag punches I created a greeting tag. I inked up the "Just for You" greeting from the PTI 2008 Holiday Tag Collection with SU Close to Cocoa ink & stamped the tag then repeated with the same leafy image previously used. Finished it off by coloring the leafs and fastening a generic button with some PTI twine.I hope this all made sense to you?! If you have ANY questions, please feel free to e-mail me!!! I'd love to know if you enjoy Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin bread or muffins? (I prefer Pumpkin bread with chunks of dried ginger!!!) YUMMY :) Be Sweet!
