Fashion Daisies 26

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, September 15, 2009 @ 11:10 PM | , , ,

Hello Cyber Friends! I am really excited to tell you that the girls over at The Color Throwdown site gave my fall themed card, Pumpkin Pie Anyone? a "shout out"! :) Thank you Color Throwdown girls for the mention & thank you cyber girlfriends for the ton or supporting my blog! I truly appreciate all the positive feedback & read each & every comment :)

I am calling this gift set my Fashion Daisies! When I first saw Cuttlebug's New Morroccan Screen EF, I immediately thought of one of my fave French handbag designers, Louis Vuitton! (Louis Vuitton would have a heart attack if he were alive knowing I was associating his fine handbags to paper purses!) I made this Happy Birthday card & purse for my friend / co-worker, Perla, who will be celebrating her 26th birthday on Saturday, September 19th. I originally made this purse in March '09, so if you would like to see either a written or video tutorial click Scalloped Top Purse.(This will link you to my original post that includes step-by-step written instructions & my YouTube video) This lil' purse is extremely versatile & makes a wonderful gift. I frequently use it as a gift bag to fill with approximately 4 - 6 standard A2 greeting cards (4.25" x 5.5"). The color inspiration for my Fashion Daisies set comes from this week's Lauren's My Time To Create Inspiration Challenge, MTTI06 & the card layout is inspired by Kazan's Sketch 35 at 2 Sketches 4 You. For your pleasure, I recommend visiting both of these sites that I have mentioned! Do you like Louis Vuitton's style or do you have a personal fave? I'd love to know who is your designer of choice?! Be Sweet!

Using the flower outline stamp from the PTI Beautiful Blooms set, I randomly created my own background DP with SU Chocolate Chip ink.

For a whole lot of texture, I embossed the Sizzix SU Top Note Die with the Cuttlebug Morroccan Screen EF & the large BossKut daisy & lil' daisy on the inside with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF.

More embossing on the smallest scallop on the top flap & both front & back outermost panels. To keep the purse closed, I put a self-adhesive velcro dot between the front flap and purse front. I cut the lil' scalloped tag using the Sizzix Sizzlet tag die & adhered an embossed daisy.

Are you lovin' all the texture? For a lil' more detail, using a Bazzill Stitch'z template, I pierced holes around then entire circumference of the largest scalloped circle.

The topper is secured to the back of the purse with 3 large brads.

Ingredients Used: Stamps: PTI Beautiful Blooms, Flower Garden, SU Great Friend Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Whisper White Ink: SU Chocolate Chip Sprinkles: Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge, Cuttlebug Morroccan Screen & Swiss Dots EF, Sizzix SU Top Note die, BossKut die, Marvy Uchida flower punch, Offray ribbon, Jo-Ann Craft Essentials hardware, Sizzix Sizzlit tag die
