Be Brave...September OUAS Challenge 51

Mona Pendleton | Friday, September 14, 2012 @ 3:00 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all ready for the weekend! I know I sure am! I'm here to share a layout I made for the monthly Once Upon A Sketch Challenge. I scrapped a photo of Meredith that was taken years ago. Meredith was forever playing with her Barbie dolls as a young girl but she was also ready to rough it up with her big brother Connor! ;0 My kind of girl!
I was free to choose whatever products I wanted to create with so naturally I reached for my Die-namics and MFT stamps to help me along with this layout. I stamped and heat embossed a pretty butterfly from Inspired by Butterflies on a coordinating vellum die cut which is layered on top of a pretty flourish made using Die-namics LARGE Fancy Flourish.
I stamped a sentiment from Die-namics Own Your Story Stamp Set & Four Point Frame on a tag made using Die-namics Tag, You're it and layered it on top of a doily made using Die-namics Decorative Doily. Underneath you also see a flourish peeking out that was made using Die-namics Fancy Flourish. I admittedly was pressed for time so I pulled out some manufactured flowers from my stash and white washed painted an Imaginarium Designs small chipboard clockface
The title "tom boy at heart" was made using the fun new Die-namics High-Rise Alphabet, MFT Steel Gray cardstock, a die cut heart that was made using Die-namics Hearts a Plenty which is layered on a white washed chipboard Imaginarium Designs frame.
This month is a little different as the Once Upon A Sketch DT teamed up with CSI. For complete details, please see the Once Upon A Sketch site. Here is how I incorporated the CSI Case File No 37:
The Sheme: followed the color story
Testimony: Handwritten journaling based on the Inspiration Word: BREAK
Evidence: Used a bookpage and 3 buttons
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the Once Upon A Sketch site for COMPLETE details! I'll be back Sunday with an all new CR84FN Color Challenge.
Be Sweet :)

Such a gorgeous layout, Mona. Your mixture of media and texture is so eye catching. Oh how I remember the hours and hours I and my own daughter played with Barbie as children. She's an iconic doll for sure - spanning 60 years! Your layout captures the short amount of time when our little girls are small and still play with dolls...that's precious!
