Hi there my dear blogging friends! Hope you are all enjoying the first few days of October! It's that time again for an all new Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful monthly challenge.
The challenge for the month of September is The Beauty of a Technique. This month, the challenge is to either show us a technique you already love or perhaps, give a new one a try! If you are looking for some awesome tutorials, please be sure to visit the Resources section at SCS (click HERE). I was feeling a bit adventurous and tried a the Cracked Glass technique. Not having done this before, I referred to Beate's fab tutorial on SCS click HERE.
I paired the pretty little flower bouquet from Flourishes Gerber Daisies with lovely patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection. To create the cracked glass flower bouquet, I stamped the image, cut using a Spellbinders circle die template, sponged Ranger Spun Sugar ink around the edges, colored the stems and flower centers then followed the Cracked Glass technique tutorial on SCS (click HERE). I improvised and used plain clear embossing powder that I had on hand repeating the steps MANY times ~ so many, I lost count! Being my first attempt, I was a bit excited when I removed my stamped piece from the freezer and snapped the image with a bit of enthusiasm creating quite the crack!!! HINT: gingerly bend your stamped artwork so not to cause such BIG fissures! IMO, I rubbed a bit too much Distress ink over the cracked piece. Still loved the effect and can't wait to try it again!
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the entire DT for some fabulous inspiration:
If you join along, link your Bringing Back Beautiful Challenge creation here and if you upload to SCS or an online gallery, please use the keyword BBB15. You have until September 30th to enter!
