Lots of Love 44

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, June 3, 2010 @ 11:00 PM | , ,

Thank Goodness It's Friday! Hope you all had a great week :) I had some "me" time, so I played along with a few of my favorite challenges. This week over at the cards blog, Paige is challenging us all to create a card with windows.

This may make you chuckle - I have never made a card with a window! :) Sounded like a fun technique to try, so I pulled out a few of my Spellbinders™ die templates & gave it a go! On a side note, whenever I think of windows, I think of my dear friend Julie who's blog name is Julie's Open Window - letting inspiration in... and out. I think that is such a catchy name :) For sketch inspiration, I joined in on the fun & played along with Laura's fun sketch 53 from 2Sketches4You.

Close-up, I think you can really get an appreciation for the scalloped heart window frames made from a few Spellbinders™ Nestabilities S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart die templates & a peek what is on the inside :) I had to do a little stitchin' by hand the old fashioned way, using a needle & thread ;)

Here's the inside:

I used the bigger hearts that were "left over" from cutting the windows as a foundation & layered several other hearts on top. I used 3D foam squares to "pop" them up for a little dimension :)

That's all I have for today - If you are looking for some great inspiration or for some fun challenges to play along with, be sure to check out the sites that I have mentioned. Hope you have a great weekend! I will be back Saturday for an all new fun challenge with Just Us Girls. Thanks for looking-Be Sweet:)

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps Sweethearts

Paper: Girl's Paperie, Papertrey Ink

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger

Other: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart, S4-136 Classic Heart, S4-239 Classic Scalloped Borderabilites™ Petite, W-001 The Wizard™, needle & thread :)
