Mug of Warm Winter Wishes 23

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, September 30, 2009 @ 2:28 PM | , , , ,

Hi Ladies! Thanks for all the encouragement especially with my Monster Madness forever growing set! You'll be seeing more of those lil' guys in the days to come :) Today, I am in the mood for some wintry creations. There is soooo many beautiful Christmas/Holiday papers hitting the shelves lately. On my last trip to the LSS, I came across this cute DP made by Imaginisce & the coordinating stamp which cost only 99 cents! I combined 2 challenges to make my Mug of Warm Winter Wishes set. This week Lauren's My Timeless Template Challenge 06, MTTC06, is to use ANY My Timeless Template & PACKAGE candy of some sort OR get inspired by the candy wrapper! I found inspiration in the wrapper of the lil' Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark squares & for sketch inspiration, I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for Challenge #37, SSSC37. I probably sound like a broken record but I have to share with you again how EASY & VERSATILE Lauren's templates are to use! They make GREAT, inexpensive gifts that you can decorate any way you like for any occasion! If you are looking for inspiration, I recommend visiting both Lauren & Karen. They have beautiful creations displayed on their sites, as well as their DT's! I would love to know if you are in the wintry - Holiday season yet? Be Sweet!

Here's my Mug of Warm Winter Wishes set:
I wanted something a lil' more subtle to break up all that busy-i-ness going on in the Imaginisce DP so I inked up my brayer with SU Bashful Blue ink, rolled it on the Sizzix Christmas snowflake embossing folder, then ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot Express machine.
To break up all that white around the Imaginisce Hot Chocolate image, I inked up the appropriate size dotted label image from the PTI Vintage Labels set with SU Bashful Blue ink.

Not only is the Outer bag that Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark candy gorgeous but every single lil' square is wrapped in beautiful candy cane striped paper! How inspirational is that? :)

I packaged 6 Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark squares in a small cellophane bag & that fits EASILY into ONE of the PTI My Timeless Template Milk Carton Made templates.

REMEMBER: Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3rd! It is World Card Making Day & I will be celebrating by kicking off the holiday card-making season here at Cupcake's Creations! Don't forget to stop by to see what I am up to :)

Monster Madness Centerpiece 29

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, September 29, 2009 @ 5:59 AM | , , , ,

Hi Girls! Thank you all soooo much for taking the time to leave comments for me & for visiting my blog :) Your continuous support make it worth while & is GREATLY appreciated! I hope you find something that inspires you to get creative in some way & to have fun :) I would like to give a BIG Thank You to both Samantha at Scrapmaster's Paradise for selecting my "Baby It's Cold Outside" basket & card combo for her Featured Friday gallery & to the girls at Pile it on challenge site for selecting my "Go Green" set for their Sweet Sprinkles Award :) Yeah! Week after week, these girls from both of these challenge sites offer much inspiration & take the time to manage these challenges for US! I suggest you get stampin' & play along :) You never know!

As a participant in the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired Challenges, Week 1, we had to create an invitation to our "themed" party, Week 2 - a gift bag & card, Week 3 - a matching mini-album. This week, for the Be Inspired #50 Challenge, we have to create a Centerpiece for the table as a show piece for our theme, (mine being Halloween), that will tie all our creations together! We were to incorporate the use of at least one Cuttlebug embossing folder in our project so, I used both the Tiny Bubbles & Tiny Mosaic Texture embossing folders. I combined Lauren's My Timeless Template Challenge 06, MTTC06, which was to PACKAGE candy of some sort using one of the My Timeless Templates with the Be Inspired challenge. A Halloween party would not be complete without candy! My Table Centerpiece displays 4 of the Fold N' Go bags/boxes that are filled with cellophane bags of My DH's favorite candy! If you are interested in browsing many fun & creative inspiration pieces, I recommend visiting ALL of the challenge sites that I have mentioned! I'd love to know what is YOUR favorite candy? Be Sweet!
Here is my Centerpiece for my Halloween party Celebration! This photo contains the invites, the card, the gift bag & the mini album!

Go Green set - September PTI Blog Hop 63

Mona Pendleton | Friday, September 25, 2009 @ 12:39 PM | , , , ,

Hi Girls! September 25th ALREADY! Can you believe it? Time sure flies when we're havin' fun stampin' & craftin' :) That means time for another PTI Blog Hop! This month Nichole challenged us to "Go Green"!

The focus for this month's PTI Blog Hop is to reuse & recycle portions of our newly arrived PTI order in an earth-friendly way! That means to reuse, repurpose or recycle packaging from our PTI package! For my "Go Green" card sketch layout, I found inspiration from this week's Card Positioning Sytems, CPS134 challenge.& over at Pile It On, Challenge #16 we were challenged to use punches :) Click on over to both the CPS & Pile It On sites to see soooo many gorgeous creations week after week! Here are my "Go Green" creations! Thanks for looking! Be Sweet!

I stamped the PTI Everday Button Bits bird image, wing & the Hampton Art Go Green image on the PTI Thank You card that comes with every PTI shipment & from the label identifying the stamp set, then punched them out. I repeated this for ALL the punched flowers.

I cut apart the corrugated cardboard box that my shipment came in & using the Sizzix SU Top Note die, I cut the front & back of my purse!

This purse is the PERFECT gift for ALL 50 of my girlfriends/coworkers!! Virtually costs PENNIES!!!!

I recycled the cellophane bag that my PTI twine was delivered in & popped in a pack of gum, tied it up with some ribbon & attached a coordinated tag with PTI twine. A tag paired with some ribbon, buttons & twine can spruce up just about ANYTHING!

I JUST had to use The Green Stack by DCWV!!!!! :)

Ingredients Used: Stamps: PTI Everyday Button Bits, Hampton Art stamp Paper: PTI Pure Poppy, Kraft, DCWV The Green Stack, SU Blue Bayou, Whisper White Ink: SU Chocolate Chip Sprinkles: RECYCLED PTI corrugated cardboard box, PTI stamp labels, PTI cellophane twine bag, PTI twine & buttons, Spellbinders Scalloped circle nesties, Sizzix Scalloped circle, Sizzix SU Top Note die, EK Success punches, Offray ribbon

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, September 24, 2009 @ 2:42 PM | , , ,

Hi Girls! I have to make this a really quick post because I have to run & pick up my step-kids from school :) I made this Christmas card because I was so excited to receive my new PTI order yesterday from the man in Brown-it felt like Christmas!!!! I loooove punches :)Hop on over to either sites & see all the amazing inspirational creations they have to share as well as the DT samples! :) Be Sweet!

To make the trees "POP" off the scalloped rectangle, I inked up the PTI Christmas tree image from the Winter Swirls set in SU Always Artichoke, Old Olive & Handsome Hunter (individually of course) then cut them out with a very sharp scissors then adhered them with glue dots.

It is hard to tell unless you click on the image to enlarge it, but the Martha Stewart snowflakes & white rectangle behind the trees, are all embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF. The snowflakes are double layered for a nice FULL look!

Remember tomorrow evening, Friday, September 25th at 8pm EST, you can stop by and see what I have created for the PTI monthly Blog Hop! We were challenged this month to "Go GREEN" & recycle our shipping products that came with our order.

Pumpkin Swirls 17

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 @ 8:16 PM | , , , ,

Hi Girls! Happy Belated Fall! I am welcoming a change in the weather :) Fall means a NEW planting season here in the desert! I am looking forward to having a patio blossoming with pretty flowers again now that the high temps have passed. In my eyes, the colors in Lauren's, My Time To Create Color Challenge 06, MTCC06, makes for a perfect palette for a Thanksgiving card & tag combo. Combining Lauren's colors with the sketch layout from Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch Challenge C4C3 & Basic Grey's Embossing Challenge, I made this Happy Thanksgiving Pumpkin Swirls card & tag set. If you would like to see many beautiful creations, I recommend visiting all 3 of these sites! Each site has a DT that offers many ideas of inspiration! I'd love to know how you welcomed the First Full day of Fall? Be Sweet!

This is my Happy Thanksgiving Pumpkin Swirls set:
I created some background DP using the brayer technique AGAIN! It is so simple, all you do is ink up a brayer, roll it on the embossing folder & run it through your die cutting machine.

To make the pumpkins "POP"off the Whisper White Labels 1 layer, I inked up the 2 pumpkin images from the PTI Fall Elegance set with SU Really Rust ink, stamped them on a separate piece of paper, then using a VERY sharp pair of scissors, I cut them out. I stamped the stem images using SU Chocolate Chip ink on the Whisper White Labels 1 layer, then using Large glue dots, I adhered the pumpkins.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the greeting & made a "petite" version of the Pumpkin Swirls embellie.

You know how I looooove ribbon! This coordinating gift tag simply adds a personal touch to a ANY gift!

Ingredients Used: Stamps: PTI Fall Elegance, Vintage Labels Paper: SU Really Rust, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White Ink: SU Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Really Rust Sprinkles: Spellbinders Label 1 dies, Basic Grey green & brown buttons, Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl & Swiss Dots EF, PTI twine, Offray ribbon, JoAnn rust button, generic twine

Hi Ladies. I hope all of you had a super weekend! My backyard party went well & everyone had a great time :) First I must share some SUPER DUPER exciting news with all of you! As you can see, I jazz them up for ANY & EVERY ocassion!!!! Don't forget to join me on September 25th for another FUN evening during the PTI Blog Hop!!
The Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Palooza Continues!!! It is week number three in their month-long celebration. As a participant in the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inpired Challenges, the first week, we had to create an invitation to our "themed" party, then we had to create a gift bag & card and now it is time to create a matching mini-album for the Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #49! (This entire challenge is based on a theme, (I chose Halloween) & use of a Cuttlebug embossing folder of the crafter's choice, (I am using both the Tiny Bubbles & Tiny Mosaic Texture EF). If you would like to see so many inspirational mini's that both the DT & other participants have created, I recommend visiting the Cuttlebug Challenge site! I was first a Scrapbooker before a Cardmaker, so this week's challenge was sort of a throwback for me & was soooo much fun! :) I have several friends who are both Scrapbookers as well as Cardmakers. I would like to mention some that come to mind in no particular order & if you click their name, it will take you to their blog where you can see sooooo many beautiful creations: Susan, Eve, Kim, Sammye Jo. How many of you create different papercrafts other than greeting cards & if so, what? I would love to know! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me :) Be Sweet!

This is my Monster Madness mini-album:
