Some exciting news... 28

Hi there! Today I have some exciting news to share:
along with this exciting news, I also have a layout to share in celebration of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness month:
It's a little bit different in that rather than scrapping a photo, I created the layout featuring a cute Prima Julie Nutting stamped girl:
Here's a collage of a few close ups:
To create the background, I collaged various papers from the Prima Bloom and Something Blue collections, applies various paints, then adhere my fussy cut / paper pieced girl on:
I added design to the background using various stencils including a Prima stencil:
 Lots of doodling:
For color inspiration, I joined along with Sassy Scrappers challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ please be sure to get a mammogram and perform your self breast exams!

Happy Friday! Any big weekend plans? Not a whole lot going on around here ~ spending time with my family and hopefully having some time to create. Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of sweet Angie sporting her bicycle helmet ;)
Don't mind me, I love making digital collages of snippets of my projects
I wanted Angie's photo to "fit in" with the mixed media background so I used a spatula knife to apply Gesso around the photo:
I call Angie my little butterfly because she is always fluttering about here and there ~ never a dull moment so I couldn't resist, I had to embellish with a die cut butterfly:
I added lots of texture using 13arts 3D powder and texture paste:
For additional design, I randomly stamped a fun image on the background:
Here are the inks and 3D texture powder I used:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Sketchabilities sketch challenge:
and color inspiration, I joined along with the Scrap Around the World challenge referring to the photo in the lower left corner:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy October! Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of dear Meredith along with pretty patterned papers from Pion Design's Siri's Kitchen collection.
I surrounded Meredith with die cut sprigs and foliage ~ all made using papers from the Siri's Kitchen collection along with several pre~made cream colored flowers from my stash:
Love the sweet butterflies fluttering about:

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Stuck?! sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you enjoyed my layout.

Hi there! I'm so excited to be joining along for the first time with the PTI Make it Monday challenge. This week, the challenge is to stamp on a Mason (Ball) jar. When I saw this challenge, I knew immediately that I wanted to make a project combining both PTI stamps and papers from the Pion Design Siri's Kitchen collection.
I've been refinishing and painting furniture with Angie over the past few months so I have accumulated quite a collection of chalk paint from various manufacturers. I pulled out one by Martha Stewart to paint this Ball jar, allowed to dry then stamped and heat embossed little flowers from PTI Beautiful Blooms.
I topped off with a crocheted doily and tag that was made using fun papers from the latest Pion Design Siri's Kitchen collection along with many PTI dies and stamps from PTI Friendship Jar.
I also made a coordinating card featuring the fun label from the Pion Design Siri's Kitchen collection:
The tag was stamped stamped with a sentiment from PTI:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!
