Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I have a card to share that I made for my dear DIL who recently passed her Pilates certification written and practical exams. April's currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Elementary Education but since she enjoys teaching Pilates and it's much more lucrative than teaching elementary education she is not going to return to her second grade classroom this Fall.
I created lots of texture and design to the background using the Tim Holtz brick wall stencil along with modeling paste. For color, I used the following colors of Tim Holtz Distress Stains: Brushed Pewter, Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean.
For the focal point, I featured a butterfly that was die cut using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die which I applied a generous layer of Wendy Vecchi crackle texture paste to prior to adding Peacock Feathers Distress Stain:
Lots of texture:
I'm entering this in a trio of my favorite challenges:
A Vintage Journey where the theme is Things with Wings,
retrosketches:
and color throwdown:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!

It's kind of sad when teaching young minds doesn't pay as much as teaching exercise but that's the way our world works. I think it would be a LOT more fun teaching Pilates! I keep hearing very sad stories from my friends who work with children on a daily basis.
Your card is stunning! I love the color combo and all the crackle! Love the doily behind the butterfly. Your DIL is so fortunate to have you in her life!!!
