Hi there! I hope you are having a great week! Last weekend, Scott and I drove from Phoenix to Los Angeles to watch Connor compete in his first collegiate track and field meet. Seems like yesterday when we took him there to tour the college and meet the coach! Where does the time go? sigh... Both the team and Connor did well and he also had a lot of fun :)
Today, I was playing with a variety of beautiful ColourArte Silks Acrylic Glazes in my art journal
and painted a fun little penguin:
I referred to the sweet image shown below for inspiration: (photo credit)
I was going for a fun / whimsical look:
To create this art journal page, I applied a coat of Gesso to the page, allowed to dry, then randomly applied various ColourArte Silks Acrylic Glazes:Once I had the page covered, I sketched and painted the penguin. The beak was quite challenging for me and as you may notice, I changed it from the first photo taken while in progress:
I pulled out some of my favorite SU stamps that are more than 10 years old and randomly stamped the background using permanent black ink as well as ColourArte Radiant Gel Emperor's Gold Metallic Dimensional Paint:
I also added lots of texture using ColourArte Radiant Gel Emperor's Gold Metallic Dimensional Paint along with a stencil:
Here are all the ColourArte products that I used to create this page:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the current colourQ color challenge. I also joined along with this week's A Visual Journey:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great Thursday!
Be Sweet ;)
