Captured Memories 43

Mona Pendleton | Friday, May 31, 2013 @ 10:48 AM | , , , , , ,

Happy Friday! I'm so happy the weekend is here and I have the day off from work to play :) I pulled out some of my favorite products and created a layout featuring a photo that I took a few years ago of Scott, Connor and Meredith while we were on spring break hanging out at Walt Disney World.
I started by creating several sheets of my own paper using the 12" x 14" Gelli Arts printing plate and a variety of acrylic paints:

Once the paper was dry, (takes only a few minutes), I added lots of texture using fiber paste along with the MPD Square Motif stencil. I altered a few pieces of chipboard with embossing enamel then adhered a variety of flowers.
I randomly stamped the chicken wire design from MPD Distressed Backgrounds using MFT Kraft ink. I have really been having fun experimenting with a variety of crackle producing products like you see on the chipboard heart. I haven't decided which I like best but when I do, I will share.
I played along with a few challenges: The Sunday Stamper challenge which is to use "embossing powder", (I heat embossed the chipboard pieces), for sketch inspiration, I joined along with Let's Get Sketchy:
and for color inspiration, I joined along with Sketchy Colors. Both of which I needed to jump start my crafty mojo :)
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great weekend!
Be Sweet ;)

Stunning!!! The color just jumped out at me! It's gorgeous!!! I love seeing the MPD distressed stamp in use because I bought that one, now if I could just get a little time to play (away from my deadline work)! I definitely need the KFAFT ink...not sure why I forgot to buy that last month and the Gelli plate is making me crazy!!! :) (I have LIKED Gelli Arts on FB and keep seeing awesome creations) I am thinking that maybe I will have to beg for a "summer present" from DH...DEC is just too far away! I love your gorgeous embellishments with the addition of the yellow among the white! The lace peeping out is so soft and pretty.
