Waltzingmouse Stamps October Blog Waltz 162

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, October 7, 2010 @ 11:00 AM | ,

Hi There! Thanks for all the sweet comments over the past several days - sounds like so many of you are as thrilled with all the amazing stamps that Claire has designed for this release as I am! All FIVE of these sets are available TODAY at the Waltzingmouse Stamps store! If you arrived here from  Jennifer's blog, then you are right where you should be! If not, please hop back over to Claire's blog where the celebration began!

A few minor details: As with all of Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team Blog Waltzes, you have the opportunity to win a stamp set of your choice. Claire will choose from among all the comments left on all the Design Team blogs one lucky winner of the stamp set of their choice. The other winner will be chosen from comments left on her blog. You need not comment on all the Design Team’s blogs to win, but the more you comment, the better your odds. You have until 11:59 pm EASTERN TIME on Saturday, October 9th to leave your comments. Good Luck!

Today, I am sharing another gift ensemble that features Big Blooms - Poinsettia, Compliments of the Season, Holiday Labels No. 14. & Very Vintage Christmas stamp set.
To create this set, I did some serious stamping! The gorgeous sentiment showcased on the card is just one of many images from Compliments of the Season . After inking up both the sentiment and decorative label from Holiday Labels No. 14, I used a S4-290 Labels Fourteen die template to cut/emboss each.
I love to stamp my own BG paper so I did just that :) I inked up the various sized solid Poinsettias and leaves from Big Blooms - Poinsettia using SU Rich Razzleberry, Always Artichoke and River Rock ink to create the colorful BG and using a combo of VersaMark ink and fine clear embossing powder, to create the solid embossed BG. So simple & easy!
If you have been hanging out with me for awhile or if you have ever taken a peek at my tutorials you will see I have written and shared a YouTube video on how to create a Scalloped Paper Gift Bag/Purse using a Cricut machine. Well, now that Spellbinders™ has introduced the Grand Nestabilities® it is so easy to create various sized gift bags/purses! (I will share a new tutorial in the near future) To make this gift bag, I used LF-161 Grand Labels One die templates to cut/emboss the bottom half of the purse & using LF-190 Grand Labels Four die templates to create the top.
A gift set wouldn't be complete without a tag now would it? I inked up the tag image from Very Vintage Christmas stamp set with SU River Rock ink then stamped a sweet sentiment from Compliments of the Season in the center and topped off the tag with a Poinsettia embellishment made using S4-219 Nested Poinsettia die templates.

In case you were curious how I stamped the two different background papers, I have taken a photo of each to share. I started out randomly stamping the bigger solid Poinsettia image, followed with the leaves using two different shades of green ink and finished with the smaller Poinsettia image.
For the solid embossed paper, I repeated the steps above substituting the colored ink with VersaMark ink and heat embossing using clear embossing powder.

That's all I have to share, to continue with the Waltz, please visit Joan's blog to see what she has to share with you! Thanks so much for looking! Would love to know what is on your MUST have list?

HI Mona, as I found this site from Stamp TV, after I saw this card I just couldn't believe what a BEAUTIFUL card it was. Now I have to go and check out the sites that you referr to for all the stamps and such. Unless you sell them here. Thank you for the great looking cards, as a guy who does stamping & card making, I find it a real stress reliever. Thanks again.
