Fall Harvest 46

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 1, 2010 @ 3:28 AM | ,

Happy October 1st! What is the weather like where you are? Still pretty hot here! I spent my childhood growing up in Upstate New York where I had the pleasure of experiencing all four seasons. I sort of miss the change of seasons - the crisp cool nights and the beautiful colored assortment of Oak & Maple leafs gingerly falling to the ground. Most of all, I miss the Fall Harvest from our garden. I don't have a garden here in Phoenix, AZ for a few reasons: I live on top of a Granite mountain which makes for terrible, hard & rocky soil & one must have more than a green thumb - more like 10 green fingers & toes to grow anything in this heat!
I made this card for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge where we are being challenged to create a Fall/Harvest themed project using the colors: green, brown, orange/rust and cream. I inked up the seed packet from Seeds of Friendship with VersaMark ink, embossed with white Filigree embossing powder & stamped a few other images on the packet. I created a pumpkin using a combination of S4-140 Petite Ovals Small and S5-023 Mega Ovals LG die templates. Using S7-107 On The Vine Border Grand, I cut/embossed/stenciled a lil' vine trim for the pumpkin.
Having my special affection for tags, I added a lil' one that was cut/embossed using the S4-081 Tags Five die template then stamped with a sentiment & a few flourishes from the Seeds of Friendship set. That's all I have for today. Thanks for looking & Be Sweet!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Flourishes Seeds of Friendship
Die Templates & Machine:  Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-140 Petite Ovals Small, S5-023 Mega Ovals LG, Shapeabilities® S4-081 Tags Five, S7-107 On The Vine Border Grand, GC-001 Grand Calibur

Mona, GASP!!! This is STUNNING! I {heart} that Flourishes stamps set -- it's simply amazing! Your card design came together flawlessly! Thanks for joining us this week for my 'Harvest Home' challenge - well done :)

I grew up in Upstate NY TOO! The seasonal changes were lovely, but I don't miss the snow and cold! We've lived in the south for the past 16 years and I love it ... still get slight seasons changes, but not those drastic cold temps! It's still in the 80/90's up to this week, but with the tropical storm blowing through the past two days, I think we've turned the corner and will begin to get some cooler fall temps now!

Fabby project ... love your work :)

I always enjoy your details -great card.
I understand about growing things in the heat. Glad I live in the Midwest now so I can garden. I don't enjoy raking leaves very much, it is a lot of work.

Beautiful, as always!! I like the colour of orange you used, it's perfect - not too bright, not too red, but perfectly fall. I had you in the back of my head yesterday as I whipped out a bunch of cards - "Hmm.. what would Mona do with this?" ;)
