Both of the cards that I have to share today feature 2 different Snow People from JustRite Groovy Snowmen. First up, is a cute Snowman image that I inked up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored him using various Copic Markers (shown below). Once the image was colored, I used a S4-126 Classic Squares LG die template to cut/emboss the image then adhered on top of a decorative layer cut using a S4-295 Lacey Squares die template. I inked up a sentiment from Nature Nested Sentiments & Verse & stamped on a tag cut using S4-081 Tags Five die template. The combination of a Spellbinders™ Grand Nestabilities® LF-127 Grand Scalloped Squares die template & a LF-126 Grand Squares die template made a wonderful canvas to showcase this duo of JustRite  & Spellbinders goodness :)

Next up, is this darling Snowgirl from JustRite Groovy Snowmen. To create this card, I inked the Snowgirl image & colored with a variety of Copic Markers (shown below). Once colored, I used a S4-114 Standard Circles LG die template to cut/emboss the image & adhered her to a decorative layer cut using a S4-304 Eyelet Circles die template. Rather than creating a tag, I inked up the Happy Holidays sentiment from Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse with Memento Tuxedo Black ink & stamped directly on the DP.

To color both of these darling images, I used various combinations of the  Copic Markers shown in the photo below.

All that glitters 61

Mona Pendleton | Monday, September 27, 2010 @ 9:32 PM | , ,

Hi There! Thanks so much for the positive feedback about Scott's handy work with our my blog :) He truly is gifted with his techie knowledge & abilities! If there is something that doesn't look quite right, please feel free to email me :)

I had a little "me" time today so I made this Thank You card using a few of my favorite products. I love the versatility of Claire's background stamps - not only can they be used for stamping your own "custom" DP but for adding that lil' extra something to embellishments like the butterfly on this card. I inked up an image from Musical Backgrounds with SU Basic Gray ink, stamped then using a Spellbinders™ Nested Butterfly die template to cut/emboss a butterfly embellishment - topping it off with a pearl brad in the center of an obnoxiously bright green fabric flower.
For color inspiration, I played along with this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. I have to admit, this color combo was quite a struggle for me! I embarrassingly bought PTI's Enchanted Evening ribbon, ink & paper about 6 months ago & did not even open it until today! Dark colors are not my thing but I really wanted to challenge myself! I would like to give a special thanks to all the DT girls at The Play Date Cafe for the weekly inspiration & encouragement to try something out of our comfort zone :)
For the lil' polka dot background, I inked up an image from Off Beat Backgrounds - another versatile & fun background set :) To showcase the sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions, I dug out a naked chipboard scalloped frame & glittered it up.
As we are rapidly approaching the end of September that means it is almost time for October Waltzingmouse previews to begin ;) Thanks so much for looking! Have a great day & Be Sweet :)

A Vintage Ornament & A New Look 59

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, September 26, 2010 @ 6:34 PM | , ,

Hi There! Another weekend FULL of football - college & NFL - I love them equally ;) My DH Scott LOVES watching football but he has been VERY busy multi-tasking! He has been working very hard with & for me, to give my blog a NEW look. I chose this magazine style look to minimize scrolling and present more posts on the Home page at one time. Please keep in mind, we are working out the kinks so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me. PLEASE remember, technology is a hobby for my hubby, this is not what he does for a living. Don't want to crush his fragile techi ego ;)

While Scott was enjoying himself watching a few football games, I have been enjoying myself playing with my papercrafting goodies! A Win / Win for both of us :)I made this card based on the fun sketch in the photo below for this week's JustRite Friday's Challenge:

I inked up one of the four pretty ornaments from Christmas Ornament and colored it with the various Copic markers in the photo below. Once the ornament image was colored, I used a S4-114 Standard Circles Large die template to cut/emboss the image then adhered it to a lacy circle blankboard (click HERE for tutorial) doily that was cut/embossed with a S4-293 Lacey Circles die template. Using the elegant motif like die template from S4-287 Fanciful Holiday, I cut 2 embellishments, lightly sanded to reveal the silver below then adhered them, placing one on each side of the ornament & topping each off with a pearl. Thanks so much for looking :) Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used: Stamps: JustRite Christmas Ornament, Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-293 Lacey Circles, S4-114 Standard Circles Large, S4-287 Fanciful Holiday, S4-241 Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite, Shapeabilities® S4-281 Tags Five, GC-001 Grand Calibur Paper: Cosmo Cricket Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, September 25, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi There! Time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

This card is rather sweet & simple.
I inked up an image from Very Vintage labels No. 10 with VersaMark ink, stamped then embossed with white embossing powder. After using a S5-022 Labels Ten die template to cut/emboss the image, I stamped the sentiment & little motif, topped it off with a few pearls & added a flower embellishment.
If you find some crafty time, please feel free join along with this week's sketch challenge. After you have made your project, please head on over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site, link your post & be sure to see what the other Waltzingmouse DT girls & Mischief Makers have created. If you post your creations in an on-line gallery, please label it WMSC16 so we won't miss them! Note: you may use any stamps of your choice in our challenge entries. Of course, we love to see what you create using Waltzingmouse Stamps images, but they are not required to play.

Happy Birthday Julie! 47

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, September 23, 2010 @ 9:00 PM | , ,

Hi There! Today my sweet friend, Julie Ranae is celebrating a very special birthday! If you get a chance, please feel free to stop by her blog (click HERE) & wish her a Happy Birthday :) For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Bonus Sketch by Kellie Marie Alvarez at 2 Sketches 4 You. If you are looking for some amazing inspiration, please hop on over & see what the DT has created! This card is sweet & simple. I combined a few gorgeous prints of Melissa Frances DP's, a pretty lacy square doily made from a S4-295 Lacey Squares die template & a Mulberry flower.

I inked up a flourish stamp from Seeds of Friendship and stamped just so a little of the flourish would peek out from behind the flower embellishment. I am entering this card in the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC85) which is to create a Celebration card :)

Yesterday, I shared the gorgeous S4-293 Lacey Circles die templates along with samples (click HERE), today, I would like to share the S4-295 Lacey Squares die templates along with all the beautiful doilies that you can create with this particular set of die templates. That's all for today! See you tomorrow for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Thanks so much for looking :)

Pretty Pastels 38

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, September 22, 2010 @ 11:27 PM | ,

Happy Fall!! It's hard to believe that Fall has officially arrived when the temps are still in the high 90's, low 100's here in Phoenix. What is the weather like in your neck of the woods? About this card, while browsing around Michael's craft store recently, I found these gorgeous flower embellishments & immediately thought how pretty they would look when paired with a few of my favorite goodies!

For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns Sketch #82. It seems as though paper doilies are quite trendy, don't you think? I thought I would create my own paper doily by combining a S4-293 Lacey Circle die template, a S4-116 Standard Circles SM & a I2-1009 Flourish Impressabilities® template. I inked up an image from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels No. 4 set with VersaMark, embossed with white embossing powder then stamped the Thank You sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions & added a lil' decorative flourish. To cut/emboss the white embossed label, I used a S4-190 Labels Four die template. Claire includes so many darling lil' flourishes within various sets, perhaps I can beg her to design an entire set of gorgeous Flourishes ;)

Take a look at all the various sized doilies you can cut with just one die template set!

That's all I have for today = thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet!

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop Week #3 55

Mona Pendleton | @ 7:00 AM | , ,

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #3! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

To create the card shown above, I inked up the Santa image from Vintage Christmas Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored it using various Copic markers (see photo below). Using a S4-301 Labels Sixteen die template I cut/embossed the image & frame behind. The lil' tag was stamped with the I Believe image from the Christmas Nested Sentiments set which stamped perfectly on a lil' tag cut using the S5-081 Tags Five die template.

With the left over scraps, I made a tag using a LF-190 Grand Labels Four die template. You may recall seeing a previous tag I made featuring the FREE downloadable calendar image courtesy of Sharon Harnist! She also generously offers many other FREE popular images - be sure to visit her blog (click HERE). Sharon designed the calender to fit perfectly inside of a S4-161 Labels One die template & using the Calendar Borders & Centers set, you can easily create lil' calendars for tags, scrapbook layouts, gifts, etc...

Elegant Ornaments 56

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, September 19, 2010 @ 7:00 PM | , ,

Hi Friends! Hope you all had a great weekend! I enjoyed a Sunday full of football games, a little bit different than my hubby ;) I played around in my "studio" (aka kitchen) & made a Christmas card for this week's JustRite Friday's Challenge:

Sharon challenged us to ink up our JustRite stamps using the following color combination dark red, ivory & black, with the added twist of creating our own handmade embellishment. How fun!

I inked up the elegant sentiment from Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse with VersaMark ink, embossed with silver embossing powder then used a S5-025 Labels Seventeen die template to cut/emboss the image. I love the beautiful scripty font & it fits perfectly inside the elegant frame.

As for the homemade embellishments, I pulled out the S4-283 2010 Heirloom Ornaments die templates used various sizes to cut/emboss F-001 Red Premium Craft Foil then for a lil' dimension & character, I embossed them using the I2-1014 Fleur De Lis Impressibilites® template. To reveal the metal, I lightly sanded off away some color. If you are interested in referring to a tutorial I wrote on this process, please feel free to click HERE.

That's all for today! Thank so much for looking!

Supplies Used: Stamps: JustRite Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S5-025 Labels Seventeen, S4-283 2010 Heirloom Ornaments, I2-1014 Fleur De Lis Impressibilites®, GC-001 Grand Calibur

Strawberry Fields Forever 46

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, September 18, 2010 @ 7:00 PM | , ,

Hello Friends! I need to shake my pom - poms & shout HURRAY from the rooftop - its' another football weekend in the Pendleton's home! That means while my hubby, Scott is in football Heaven, I am in papercrafting Heaven ;)

I was inspired to create this card for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenges, FTCC84 by several of my blogging friends. My dear friend Heather recently asked me if I had any Flourishes stamps in my collection - I was embarrassed to admit to her that I have owned some for several months now, just haven't inked them up but if you browse through my blog, you will see I have been a wee bit busy. I know excuses, excuses... My dear friends Silke, Kathy & Beate feed me with a weekly serving of Flourishes eye candy! These girls can color like nobody's business! I just drool over their cards...sigh...

The FTCC84 challenge is to incorporate the Spotlighting Technique when making your project. If you would like to view an awesome Spotlighting Technique tutorial written by Beate, click HERE. I am also entering this card in this month's SCS Dirty Dozen Totally Trendy gallery which focuses on all the latest trends in papercrafting. It seems Crinkled Seam Binding has become quite the rage & I confess, I am addicted myself.

I would like to share a few blogging awards I have recently received from several dear blogging friends. Both June & Ros passed this Friendly Blog Award on to me & I would like to offer them to all of my fellow bloggers as a lil' thank you for all the inspiration & encouragement that you continually share with me :)

This Beautiful Blogger award comes from my dear sweet friend Heather.

Thank you so much ladies for thinking of me - I cherish all the incredible friendships that I have made around the world all over the love of papercrafting ;)

Thanks for looking! Hope you have a lovely Sunday & find some time to enjoy yourself doing whatever you please :)
