Berry Sweet 50

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 5, 2010 @ 8:26 PM | , ,

Hi There! Whew - this week flew by didn't it? I'm on call this weekend with my job starting Friday at 2:30 pm - Monday 6:00 am. Depending on the # of emergency surgeries that must be done determines how much I have to work. I sure hope everyone remains healthy! One thing good about being on call, I am tethered to a pager & have a 1/2 hr response time so, I am pretty much confined to home. Which could be a good thing - maybe I will get a chance to sneak some crafty time in :) Today, I made this card for my sweet sister Tina who loves my fur babies whenever I skip out of town :) This week over at the City Crafter Challenge Blog the theme is YUM - a challenge inspired by food!I recently purchased the Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® S4-256 Assorted Fresh Fruit set. I have been himmin' & hawin' & finally grabbed one while shopping at CHA before they are gone for good. This set happens to be a LIMITED EDITION set, so you know that means - when they are gone, they are gone for good! It is packed with various fruits AND the ever so popular MASON/BALL jar! With FALL's Harvest right around the corner, I figured I could get plenty use of this treasure set :) Here's a close up the berry:For sketch inspiration, I played along with Kazan's fun sketch over at 2Sketches4You. If you are looking for some awesome inspiration please be sure to see what BOTH of these challenge sites have to offer :)If you were curious on how I made that Sweet Berry, here is a photo showing the steps:
1. cut/emboss Strawberry
2. color berry Red
3. color stem Green
4. rub a lil' distress ink to make the seeds pop & show even more dimension

As you can see, it is super duper easy to create these lil' treasures!

That's all I have to share tonight - I will be back Saturday for an all new fabulous Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Thanks so much for looking - Be Berry Sweet ;)

Supplies Used:

Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® S4-256 Assorted Fresh Fruit, Nestabilities® S4-114 Standard Circles LG, S4-249 Big Scalloped Circles LG, S4-115 Petite Scalloped Circles LG, GC-001 Grand Calibur
