Hi Cyber friends! Grab your coffee or tea & sit down because this is a rather long post for me :) As some of you know, this month I am the Guest Designer at Pile it On!. As a quick refresher, Pile it On! is a challenge site that would like you, the crafter, to incorporate their challenge with at least one other CURRENT challenge (at the time of posting). Piece of cake right? I made this Happy Harvest gift basket & card for my DEAREST sister Tina who will be taking care of my fur babies & home while I am away this week :) In no particular order here are the challenges I used: 1. Pile it On! Fall theme - use a leaf or leaves 2. For sketch inspiration: Just Us Girls 6, JUGS6 3. For color inspiration: Colorthrowdown #67, CTD67 4. Cards Blog - create place cards for the Thanksgiving dinner table. There are sooooo many various challenges out in Blogosphere, I encourage you to visit all I have mentioned & maybe you too will play along :) Thanks for looking :) Be Sweet!
Here is Tina's Happy Harvest gift basket:
Comes complete with a coordinating card, a home-made loaf of Pumpkin/Ginger bread adorned with a tag & a Pumpkin handled spreader/knife.
Pumpkin/Ginger bread is one of my personal favorites this time of year with a piping hot mug of Spiced Cider, coffee or tea :) YUMMY! Makes for an affordable, edible, practical gift all wrapped in one! :) I stamped the PTI Vintage Picnic basket image on a piece of SU Kraft cs, cut it out then ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot Express using the Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaics EF to give it some texture & dimension. I stamped the napkin/tablecloth image on a piece of PTI Aqua Mist cs, then cut it out & adhered it to the basket.
That lil' spread knife has brushed nickel pumpkins as the handle. When I found this knife at JoAnn's in the $2.50 bin but with my 50% coupon, I skipped out of the store with it for $1.25! :) YIPEE SKIPEE We all love a bargain!
I inked up the PTI medium dot image with SU Sahara Sand to create the background of the card. To make the basket of pumpkins scalloped embellie, I first stamped the PTI pumpkin image on a piece of SU Natural's Ivory cs then cut out using a Spellbinder's nesting circle die. Repeating the steps for the tag, I completed the basket.
Lastly, I made a Thanksgiving dinner table place card combining this week's Pile it On! fall theme challenge, Colorthrowdown #67, & the Cards Blog challenge which involves creating a cute place card.
Ingredients Used: Stamps: PTI Vintage Picnic, Polk a dot Basics, SU Fancy Flexible Phrases Paper: SU Kraft, Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango, PTI Aqua Mist substituted for SU's discontinued Soft Sky Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Sahara Sand, Ranger/Tim Holtz Antique Photo, Copic Markers 0 Colorless Blender, W-1 Warm Grey, E08 Brown, G85 Verdigris, E 31 Brick Beige, Sprinkles: Spellbinders Scalloped Circles, Circles, Labels 4, BossKut leaf die, Offray ribbon, SU copper cord, PTI buttons, Making Memories hardware I feel blessed & have a lot to be thankful for not only in my personal life but in my crafty world as well :) I am celebrating many things around here at Cupcake's Creations! I have reached over 200 friends in a little over a year's time :) To show my Gratitude & Appreciation, I would like to offer you a chance to win some crafty goodies! I wish I could afford to give everyone something but I have to limit it to one randomly selected Cyberfriend. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. I am not going to "require" that you become a cyberfriend to be eligible but I sure would appreciate it if YOU chose to. I have reached over 30,000 Unique Visits, so there must be more than 217 of you out there taking a peek at my creations :) I am a hobbyist who loooves to share what I do & hopefully you will take the time to say hi! more often than not :) I will randomly select a winner on Saturday, November 21st at 8:00 pm EST & announce the winner on my Sunday, November 22nd post. Good Luck! :) Be Sweet & Be Kind to others, ONLY one comment per person please :)

Mona you are so amazing and talented. It's such a blessing getting to know you through Just Us Girls but prior to that through Lauren's My Time challenges. You have a real flair for design! I just adore this gift basket you put together - what a GREAT treat for your sister - I love that you used the JUGS sketch again - you clever girl :-) I would love your recipe for pumpkin/ginger bread - I make treats for our admin meeting in a week and have been looking for something warm and fall oriented! Hugs girlfriend.
Hey Mona--Just loved this card. The colors are just great, and I don't think I ever mentioned that leaves are a favorite theme for me, so this card met your usual super standards. The picnic basket in the center just cries out "Feed Me". And the pumpkin/ginger bread reminds me of the last time we were there and you made bread for us to take to Vegas. It was like comfort food in our room. That was so thoughtful, and I always remember it. Tina will really love it. Keep up the fantastic work. It just gets better with each card. Sue M.
